Thanks for the Avis code! :thumbsup2 The $90 from Budget did not include insurance. Although we've had good luck with Budget in the past, I went ahead and switched to Avis using the same code as you to save $30. I don't see anywhere on the confirmation that any type of verification is needed to rent.

Glad to help. Just think...with that $30 you saved, you'll be able to fill that minivan's gas tank about 1/3 full! :rotfl2:

Have fun! We are thinking about trying an RCCl cruise -- since they cruise out of Galveston.

We did a Carnival cruise out of Galveston a couple years ago for my dad's 60th birthday. While I loved being only an hour away from the terminal, I wasn't overly impressed with Carnival! :sad2:

Have SM partners been assigned? I haven't seen anything - and I'm wondering if I missed something. Or, if we're in waiting mode.

T-**** are progressing according to plan. :thumbsup2 We could really use more help packing them up. So far it's just Monica and I. Wed, July 2 in Sacramento - if you can make it - PM me. PLEASE!

We haven't seen any SM assignments either so I'm assuming they're still in process.

Sorry that Sacramento is just a little too far from Denver to help. We are looking forward to our t-*****s though. Thanks for doing this!

Good to know. As there is usually an average 3% charge. Visa and M/C do impose the 1% to all banks for currency conversion.Cap 1 must be eating the fees. I will use one of our cards if I buy anything in the ports as it is easier to deal with a merchant if something is not ok after you get home and you need to dispute something.

What is Disney Visa's?

Does anyone need a 5 day Park Hopper for Disneyland? I have one (unused) that I will sell cheap. PM me.

well...

... will ya look at dat! I drop off for just a day an' a half an' ya bunch a swabbies an' wenches have gone an' buried another chapter of our thread an heaped on another 500+ new postings here fer us "one day late Charlies" ta wade through! < chuckles >

So we're home again and nominally recovered from he visit to Boston with the gracious DIS mini-meet hosted by Mary Ann & Jim ( magiroux ) in beautiful Marlborough, MA.... Here's a couple pictures from the meet with Diane & Mike + kids ( Allshookup ) who drove an hour plus among the crazy Boston drivers to get here ... and Penny ( psm729 ) hung out too - as her drive was a convient stones throw away ... or rather a mere 10 minutes distant! Unfortunately, we missed Chrissy (mkygrl) as we were at the end of the school year and Chrissy was entangled in teacher meetings all day. However, I brought along my FIL ... Sam who is coming on the cruise with us. He had just flown into town on a red eye that morning ... and my MIL was still sleeping so we let her rest back in Boston. And... Penny had to leave mid way through the day (and I missed snapping her photo with us... :faint: sorry, I was to busy talking and all...) - So - we had to consume thier share of the yummy rum cocktails which Mary Ann whipped up!
.... OK :duck: ...

....now where were THOSE photo files again?.....

Oh yeah.... below on the left are 3 of us. Some may notice that Diane is a bit blurry... and you see... she did not quite approve of the expression that was originally captured... however, I had this BLURRY image in a different photo of her that we sort of substituted here. < wink > On the right hand image you can see the huge pool BALL!

I must say, MaryAnn was an incredible host! We had every yummy snack imaginable (or sought after). The pizza was wonderful too - along with that home made guacamole and the delicious RUM cocktails. Here below is MaryAnn offerring Diane some "Mini Hot-Dogs" with the "actual" conversation from that moment!!!

So... I'm not sure ... but below is an image of a guy that was with Diane that day .... [SShuuu!!!.... don't tell Diane's husband MIKE some other guy that LOOKED like him ::yes:: wuz there!]

GREAT pictures Crash!!!
Looks like yal had a lot of fun!

Someone please take notes since I will be gone next week. :)

Something funny/cool happened a few minutes ago! DH was on chat at his Kiva Friends site and everyone was all excited that there were 16 people in chat. He commented that the DIS board chat can get WAY bigger than that. Someone piped up that they were on the DIS - turned out to be Paula Sillars! She and DH decided to plan a Kiva Friends meet on the TOAL :rotfl: :cool1:

I think it was last year when Carnival put one of their newly drydocked ships in Galveston. We've never done anything but Disney. I have heard good things about RCCL and their Broadway Theater kids program.

I agree! Great photos with commentary Crash!!!!

Coral, I'll try real hard to take notes for you. ;) Have a great trip!!!!

Yeah, and I'm worried about whether a minivan will be big enough for us and all our luggage! :scared1:

Kim

Oh Kim
That reminds me - car seats and seat belts on the pirate bus.

Okay - the buses do NOT have seat belts nor do they require car seats for children (must be an exception to the ordinance). They said a child could be strapped into a car seat that sits on the regular seat. BTW - none of the bus companies I contacted had buses w/seat belts.

AND - because so many pirates will have a lot of luggage (thank you to Kristina for mentioning that fact!!!!) we are going to have 4 buses not 3 so that everyone's luggage will fit!!!

Just try and stick with their newer ships like anything in the Mariner class (close to the size of Disney ships) or their Voyager class ships. Their other ships are much older. Their newest ships are the Freedom class but they aren't sailing out of Gavelston

And before I forget .... I've not read more than 4 pages from this new thread but I did notice several neighbors have had an ANNIVERSERY today - it seems. So may I offer cordial wishes for a ....

They have category 4, 6 and 7 available.

So while the ship will obviously be very full, it looks like it may not be totally absolutely filled up.

Andrew ... Is there heat near the inflammation? This is one of the signs of a DVT. I've had 3 DVTs and am now permanently on Coumadin, hence the little to no drinking. It took them 2 weeks to diagnose the first clot, kept thinking it was tendenitis, one doctor thought the pain was in my head! Got diagnosed correctly when my GP got back from vacation. Anyhow, take care, enjoy the blood work and needles.
Mary Jane
Just remind all of us !!!!;) :thumbsup2
Me too!!!!:thumbsup2 Glad you are coming to the Mini Meet!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: We still want you with or without the wristbands!!::yes::

I am sorry to hear about all the pain you are in!!!:worried: I hope you feel better soon and the problem is just minor!!
Thank you for the good wishes, I am glad to report there isn't any 'heat' so maybe that is a good sign, I have had many doctors mis diagnose before, A GP said I didn't have a hernia before and I went private and they said I had to have an operation within a week for the hernia as it was so large! Then there is my usual blood condition that a few years back ,was all in my mind, now it has a diagnosis.
I am not a Doctor, but I think is a tear in my ligament from my walking, but going along with the 'option' of DVT, as you do not wish to take a risk on that.

Interesting, still getting the odd cancellation then, so people would loose a bit, as we are now under two months away.

It was amazing - its only the second time I've been to Kiva chat too!

Any other Kiva or Kiva friends here want to have a Kiva meet up on the cruise?
