I am going to handle dirty clothes the same way that I have in the past in the cruise. Hamper will be set up under the desk. I will probably bring a couple of stick up deodorizers to toss in the bags since it will be for 2 weeks this time. Every 3 - 4 days I will sort the clothes into dark and light in trash bags and pack them up in one of the suitcases under the bed. The day before CC I pack up everything that has not been worn in the last suitcase leaving out our dinner outfits, for both nights, 1 set of PJs for each person, swim suit for CC, change of clothes to wear after dinner and show before TWMA and wear the last morning to leave the ship. The suitcases go out in the hall before we leave for dinner. All I need to pack that night is our HBA carry on stuff, dinner clothes from the last night and swim suits. Much less stress and we are free to roam the ship the last night instead of packing. :)

That sounds like a plan Lisa:cool1:

DH and I will be bringing 2 pairs of zip-off shorts that look like khakis. They never seem to get dirty and dry quickly so a quick wash is easy.

Yeah baby wipes are great but nothing but actual washing is going to help our messes... Gotta love having an 18mo old! Specially one that doesn't know she's supposed to actually SWALLOW her food...

I like it! :thumbsup2

DISNEY SHOW TONIGHT! Food Network "Dinner: Impossible" - "Robert goes on a scavenger hunt through all four Disney's Major theme parks."

I watched that! I felt like he was too spastic and was criticizing Disney too much- although that's pretty much all he does on every episode. Give me Alton Brown any day :)

Home from the ER. DS was taking out the trash and comes inside calling for me to get him a band-aid right away because he cut his leg and he's bleeding. As soon as I washed it off I could see he needed stitches - he sliced it open on a broken wine glass, the glass acted like a scalpel and made about a 3 inch laceration across the bottom of his knee - deeper on one side and more like deep scrape on the other. So off to the ER and 3 stitches later we're home. They gave him a needle to numb him up before they did the stitches, I couldn't watch - Pete said it was huge.

So I'm sure you're wondering HOW he cut his knee on a broken glass in the trash...well the stupid kid picks up the trash bag and walks with it plastered to his side. I had packed up the broken glass in newspaper and had it in the middle of the trash bag with other stuff around it but with the way he was handling it, it shifted around.

And YES, there was wine in the glass when it broke:sad1:. I had just filled it and put in on my end table and went to wind up the cookoo clock when one of the pulleys hit the lamp knocking it over which fell on the wine glass sending it crashing to the floor.

Glad he is OK now.

Guess what i lost today? (and "my mind" is not a valid answer)

Oh No! I am so sorry. That is really the pits. :sad1:

I am going to try to take as many different outfits as the suitcase allows. I usually coordinate DD & my dresses and then pack shirts for the guys that go with them. There are enough to last us 15 days BUT the problem is the suitcases. Since we are flying Southwest both ways we will be allowed two checked bags and a carry on each so we should be okay. I just have to get a couple more big bags for us before I pack us all up. DD has to bring her princess dresses too ... and those don't get worn to dinner. If I cut back on anything it will be shoes. I have always filled a medium sized suitcase with shoes for me and the kids ... black sandals, white sandals and cream sandals for dinner, a couple pairs of crocs for the daytime, sneaks for excursions...and trying to figure out what I can take with us for horseback riding with a safe heel. I am really hoping that I don't have to do laundry on the ship. THAT would be a great vacation.

Those are great ideas Lisa. I know that I'm going to have to do laundry at least once, probably twice but for the most part I'm thinking it will mainly be the unmentionables and shirts. Shorts and pants can be worn a few times (as long as we don't spill anything on them!).

K, I sure hope I am reading this wrong and that you didn't lose your job.:scared1: Louisville has had a hiring freeze for awhile now, but they haven't been eliminating jobs.

Don't want splinters in my feet.....

If anyone is really warped, on google images, search "Hello, my name is Bridget"

Its "Earl" quality!

Yes, you can't resist now....

OMG! My eyes! I couldn't resist...now that imaged will forever be seared into my brain (of course I passed it on to some friends via email as a joke)

That really stinks - sorry K, hopefully something better will come along.

did anyone..sailed..the sept 24, 05 cruise? somehow..we misplaced our
grand cayman..navigator..we were hoping to saved?

Wow...that was our first cruise. I'm sure we have the Navigator for each of the days. We save everything! I'll look this weekend and let you know.

The short answer is they can repair almost anything (for a price).

Andy
that is what i'm afraid of! everyone i've talked to has said it will most likely be cheaper to get a new one...we are sooo close to TOAL, and i was hoping to avoid spending the money on this!

How old is it? It may be cheaper to buy a new one.... but call and ask.
ours is almost 3 yrs old. i figure that is ancient in computer years!

Crocs and a SPEEDO? interesting....:lmao:

this had me really laughing out loud!!

Surprise! Looks like you've answered your own question. Mexico appears to be on daylight savings time so Acapulco will be on the same as Central time in most of the US.

Yes Christopher however, keep in mind that the ship keeps its own time. Always, and I do mean ALWAYS, follow the ship's time as it maybe be different - especially as we start changing time zones. As some of you read - we (meaning Steve and I) had a bit of mishap on our Cabo day - so consequently, I will have a manuel watch when I go into ports! I don't need to be beat over the head more than once!

And yes - I have resurfaced but only for a minute - but couldn't resist replying to this.

Lots going on in my life - lots not good but life happens and then you have to move on - I am alive, I got 6 weeks to go and then I can go into my Disney Induced "Everything is Fine Mode." Nothing like hiding my head in the sand right. Anyway, on to my real reason.......be back in a moment folks! :wave2:

I gave up . I tried 2 supermarkets and a Walmart in my area the website listed as carrying them them. Finally, in Walmart I found 3X concentrated ALL in a small bottle which does 32 loads. It was only $3.97 Between DL and the cruise I will be able to use a good portion of it. Anyone sees me in the laundry room feel free to ask for some. I just got tired of looking for them and wanted cross laundry soap off the list.

My goal is to be all packed with everything ready to go by August 1st

My goal is the 9th of August but only got one bag packed filled with fish extender stuff and pirate costumes. The suitcase also has 4 pairs of shoes I am bringing.

I made my "clothing list" last night. Wow. Fifteen nights of dinner on the ship, two nights' pre-cruise....and the sea days, Palo and Brunch.

What it boils down to is this: Very few dresses fit me right. If they're big enough to fit on top, then they hang like a bag on the bottom. God love the new style that looks like maternity dresses, at least they fit. So what if I'm 50....maybe I'm carrying a child for my infertile daughter!! ;)

So....I have maybe 5 dresses, then I have several skirts and tops....but the rest of my outfits for dinner are either going to be skorts or capri's and tops that can double as outfits for brunch or sea days.
Too bad if no one likes it. At least I'm not going to dinner naked.

I have capris in every color and that will be my main outfits.:thumbsup2

I just happened to do my clothes list yesterday also.....

I need a few tops for casual night and maybe a pait of tan capris, but other than that I combined all the dresses/casual/formal wear over the last 3 cruises and am going to go with it. Since 2002 I have lost and gained the same 25 lbs over and over :headache: . Sooo, the 2004 cruise wear (had lost the weight) is for the beginning of the cruise (thank goodness the 1st formal is on Day 2 ) and the 2006 cruise wear is perfect for towards the end because right now it is all a bit too loose (lost some weight again), but by the end of the cruise, well, you know .

I have gained and lost the last 20 pounds since cruise of 2005.:headache: I did lose fifty that stayed off forever!! :yay: My famous purple dress in my signature will be worn on last formal night as it stretches.:worship: :worship:

.

* before our 2006 cruise...i took time to read..and follow the diser's
posting..trying to decide...what they're about. during..the cruise...
i was most impressed with their willness to help others, and make the
cruise..enjoyable to all!

I believe we have the same kind of peeps on this cruise too!!

right now..we got a new problem..with our new neighbor...over by our
recreational land.....basically, he isn't happy..where the property boundaries
are....which are in realities. nor does it helps..he 's drinks a case of beer
per day..& loses self control....& now becoming destructive. our response
is to gather...evidence, as we devised ways to protect our properties...

* he got drunk..& dropped nails....but also an empty cigarette package,
special finishing screws...and pieces of his new carpet. [ he can't
tolerate..our no~trepassing signs...& when he gets drunk...demonstrating
poor impulse control...

Sorry to hear about neighbor problems!!:sad2: That is so sad people do not respect other people's property!!!

Chrissie, don't think that it hasen't crossed my mind!

Peter you have six weeks to just whip one up!!!:rolleyes1 I have a button that needs sewing that has been by my sewing machine since last September.:headache:

I would be lying if I said I haven't thought about it :)

I've just read this out and Helen is on the phone to Virgin Atlantic (we have free flights as we were bumped via Washington last year).

I'll keep you informed.

David

I guess you did not see my response but I am keeping everything crossed just incase!!!

I could make all those changes except for the Mickey to Minnie...um..how do I put this nicely....not a big Minnie fan!

Chrissie

You know my favorite!!!;)

How did you know it was red wine?:rotfl2: Actually, the carpet is burgundy so it blended right in:lmao:

I drink only white wine!!:rotfl2: This blends with any color of carpet.:goodvibes

ATTN ALL KIDS SM PARTICPANTS!!!

Did that all catch your attn? :lmao: Good! :thumbsup2

Due to an unfortunate incident, I must ask those that have received e-mails with assigned SM's for their kids to stop. I must reassign all kids over the age of 7 - MEANING - THOSE UNDER 7 ARE GOOD TO GO! REPEAT - THOSE WITH KIDS UNDER AGE 7 ARE FREE TO CONTINUE WITH THEIR ASSIGNED SM.

I know that those in the ages of 7-12 have not received anything - they were assigned but now they must be reassigned. I ask you to please bear with me and stop buying gifts. I believe that many will be getting the same SMs but I must juggle some names around. I SINCERELY APOLOGIZE for this but it cannot be helped. You should be hearing from me soon. I was e-mailing individually but it is taking too dang long so I have decided to post here. I promise to work on this tonight and tomorrow and hope to have new SMs out starting tomorrow. My dear dear husband has decided to step in and help me since I have a major migraine which is really affecting my vision right now.

AND YES, THE ADULTS SM ARE 90% DONE! SO STOP ASKING!

JUST KIDDING! They too will be going out this weekend! Thanks all for understanding. Talk to you all later. Gotta run - being paged!

Children and Grandchildren...you got to love them!!!

My DGD(the almost 4 year old that had Salmonella) decided to see if a Polly Pocket purple high heel shoe could fit up her nose today. :headache: :headache: I am doing my job today and DD calls to see if I could come with her to the Doctors office to watch my DGS. I told John to stay and finish the movies. While she was coming to get me.........two cars ahead of her decided to hit a huge break-away light pole.:scared1: :scared1: The car hit the pole and went into a ditch. My daughter missed the car in front of her by inches. The break-away pole flew over three lanes and just missed her car!!! :sad2: My daughter called 911 and the police asked if she could stay by the accident scene. :confused3 She said no she had to rush her daughter to the doctors. The police asked if she need to get an ambulance. Daughter said no.........there was just a shoe up her nose daughter's nose.I think my hair should be totally white by the time we cruise this August. BTW...the doctor did get out the purple shoe.:headache: :headache: :headache:

I watched that! I felt like he was too spastic and was criticizing Disney too much- although that's pretty much all he does on every episode. Give me Alton Brown any day :)

We thought the show was really bad. I guess I haven't watched Dinner: Impossible much before! He was very spastic and like "We're going to run out of time" one minute and then like "We need another entree" the next and then "we're out of time" again later! I guess I didn't catch how he was criticizing Disney. The scavenger part would've been more interesting if he had any clue about Disney World... We liked the chef in charge of the students much better; "It's about the students learning".

I agree! Love Alton Brown!:thumbsup2
