I've never been on this board, but a few of us 8/16 cruisers are getting excited about our cruise but not the shape our bodies are in, so we want to share our thoughts and support here to each other, we invite anyone to join us.

My plan is...To not eat junk after dinner and to get out and walk! Maybe even buy a workout video for the WII to keep me going and on plan if I don't want to walk alone.

I have the WII fit and really like it. Anyone have a tried and true WII game for keeping in shape?

Joanna

Here I am, joining the party! But I can tell you right now, this week is not gonna be good, since my dd's show is this week, which means crap for dinner every night, sometimes in a car LOL.
I can tell you also, my downfall is sugar. I am addicted to sweets!! I know I need to cut those way down. I am trying to do my elliptical most days, for about 42 minutes, but once I run out of Vampire Diaries episodes to watch, I will be in trouble. I have to find something else to watch without commercials that will totally keep my attention, or I get too bored.

I'm joining in! Right now I have a gym to go to since I'm at school, and all the fitness facilities are free for students. But it's really hard to find time to get to the gym! Plus after school lets out for summer, I'm not sure if I should join a gym at home or get some videos/Wii games like Jillian's 30 Day Shred.

My biggest two setbacks right now are the fact that college food is extremely unhealthy :sad2: and that I can only run on the treadmill for 15 minutes at a time because of a knee injury. I'm hoping to be able to work up to 30 minutes running by the end of the semester, at least.

I am the same way with sweets LOL. I figure we can "really" start after the spring break because a lot of people are going away, but I'm not going away so I'll start now :wish25

Hi all,

Count me in:thumbsup2

I just love food ! ( I also have some underlining medical issues) so I joined a gym 2 weeks ago and plan on swimming to get fit.

I did weight watchers 10 yrs ago and lost 4 stone (just under 60 lbs). So I know what to do, its just the doing it;)

I plan on weighing myself each Tuesday, its 18 weeks to our holiday 19 TILL THE CRUISE:cool1:

DH has a Wii, I've never done the wii fit before but I have used my friends 'Just Dance' game and that burned a few calories as well as being a lot of fun;)

OK So I am going to weigh myself now, Tuesday will be my weigh in day also

I don't really have a weight loss goal in pounds, but maybe every Tuesday instead of weighing myself, I'll try on my tightest jeans. :scared1::rotfl:

Hi all!
I'm joining in too. I could also stand to lose some weight. I have the Wii fit and some Xbox fitness thing, but of course they don't do much good if you don't turn them on!!!! :) I do go to the gym 2 days a week, but my main problem is eating!!! I like to eat and not the healthy stuff! I also like soft drinks!!! So, I just need to get moving more... and oh yeah, eat better!!!

Hi all! The major problem in our house is poor sleep schedules (that's what happens when you live with a physician). Once the weather turns nice, we are supposed to start training for next year's Princess 1/2 marathon (from scratch). I think we are going to use the "Couch to 5K" plan to start. I've been doing the "free" exercise videos that come on "On Demand" off and on, but my goal is to be more consistent in exercising.

Thanks for reminding me that getting the Wii out could be a good place to sneak in a bit more exercise as well! I don't have a scale, so my main goal is to look and feel "more fit" by the cruise. (I'll have to use the bathing suit test. :scared1:)

Joanna, thanks for starting this thread! I hibernate during the winter and really need to get out and exercise. I weighed myself yesterday morning, ugghhh, but Tuesdays sound good to me (gives me an extra day before I weigh in again).
I also have wii fit, but my DD's got Just Dance for the Wii - so much fun, and you are really moving. So if you want to dance and exercise its a lot of fun.

Welcome everyone, so glad we could do this together, if nothing else, it will make us aware of what we are eating.

Good luck training! I used a plan similar to couch to 5k when I started running, and it worked well. I couldn't believe that in a few weeks, I went from hardly being able to run for two minutes to being able to run for 30 straight!

Thanks for starting the thread. I am joining in on the "fun". A few years ago I did Weight Watchers too and lost about 50 pounds but regained about 25. Since then, I have lost 15 pounds. My downfall is cake. I love it.

My plan is to eat less and exercise more. Yesterday I was reading an article about tips/secrets of how people stay slim. One tip was to exercise in the morning so that is going to be my plan. And, another tip was to eat breakfast. That will be part of my plan too.

I have the Wii. I really like the Wii Fit Plus. The key is to get up and use it. That is part of my plan too. I also have Walk It Out, which is fun for me because I want to unlock all of the music and city, and EA Active Sports, which I have not used yet. I also plan to walk around the neighborhood since the weather is starting to get nice.

Evening all,

Well I did it - I went to my first Aqua Aerobics class this morning- I'm sooo tired now. Dh is making tea.

It was good fun and I kept imagining going down aqua duck everytime I was splashed.

Had a good day but think I'll be in bed early tonight!:flower3:

Good for you!!!! I am not doing well today with food or working out. Please let me survive this week and got on track next week!

Woot, good for you! :cheer2: I managed to get to the gym last night, and I was able to run for 20 minutes. That's my longest run since my knee injury, so I'm very happy with it. :thumbsup2

I've also started to try doing some other little things to get fit. I decided to always take the stairs instead of the elevator (I have one class on the fourth floor of a building), and I'm going to try to start walking everywhere on campus instead of taking the campus bus once it gets a little warmer.

I wish I could take the stairs, my office is on the first floor, right inside the front door of the office building LOL!

Count me in (as I drink my glass of wine :rolleyes1). My gym membership expired. Not sure what to do about it (not happy with my gym right now). I am doing Zumba 2X/week, though. I have plantar's faciaitis (sp) in both feet, so my activity is a bit limited (Zumba does not help, but it's fun). I know what I need to/should do, but can't seem to do it. Maybe if I'm publicly accountable here, I'll stick to it???

Oh you people are killing me, I went to work today, I am on the second floor, but once I'm up there I usually don't come down :(

This weekend I am getting out there!!!
