ETA (italian time) 6AM ....:cool1:

Glad the first leg of your travel was successful! :yay:

Say hi to the giraffes at AKL when you get there!

I am taking the tortola cruise on the 15th. Just wanted to drop in and say Hi!
Anyhow as I keep reading threads Im getting soooo confused. What are the formal , semi formal, semi casual nights about? what is treasure seekers? thanks all

Sat Aug 15-Cruise Casual
Sun Aug 16-Formal Night
Mon Aug 17-Cruise Casual
Tue Aug 18-Pirate Night
Wed Aug 19-Cruise Casual
Thur Aug 20-Semi Formal
Fri Aug 21-Cruise Casual

Cruise Casual means no shorts or tank tops. Jeans are allowed in dining rooms. Khaki pants and polos would be appropriate for men, ladies-capris, skirts, pant suits. Formal nights-you can go as dressy as tux and gown or suit and cocktail dress (like you'd dress for a wedding). Semi formal is a somewhere between-my hubby usually brings a suit and two dress shirts for both nights and I wear a dress.

The Tortoal Treasure Seekers was the name they (people cruising on this date) came up with as a "theme".

WOOHOOO!! I had the most productive day here, planning/packing-wise. :cool1: Thank God for the rain here (again) in upstate NY.

WDW tshirts: DONE
Magnets: DONE
Cruise suitcase and garment bag: PACKED
FEs: DONE and PACKED
WDW suitcase: everything laid out, just waiting for the shorts, toiletries etc that will be worn/used from today - Wednesday.

Now I just have to get through three days of work (I'll be travelling on Tuesday and Wednesday :scared1:) and then we'll finally be on vacation....

Gina, where in RI were you? I went to PC (a lonngggg time ago! LOL). I don't get back to visit as often as I would like.

Laura, hope you have a great dinner in NYC!

Kristin and Janeanne, hope dinner was fun!
Have a great night all!

Just back from couples weekend in Rhode Island. Had a perfect beach day on Saturday. Now, it is full planning/packing mode for the next 5 days. ACK!:scared1: I was so hoping to be more ready than I am but have lots of little things to attend to. Kids (and me) all need haircuts, need to prepurchase tickets online for Kennedy SC and Universal, laundry, finish sewing Mickey heads to tie dye shirts, paint spiral Mickey head shirts, make Pirate tshirts and all the other stuff that comes from leaving for two weeks. Oh yes, DH and I run a cub scout pack for our school so I need to write up an agenda and calendar for planning purposes for our return when my brain will still be on the Magic.

Good news is I came home to a message from our Timeshare asking for a contact phone number for arrival into MCO. They will call us when our room is ready :woohoo: We land at 10 am so I was planning to just go straight to a water park with luggage in the car but now I can leave it with them in an air conditioned room. This has been a HUGE internal debate for me between traveling with nut free chocolate for my son for turndown at night and fish extender gifts that I didn't want to melt.

Safe travels to those leaving in the next few days. Kristin and Janeanne-hope your dinner tonight went well, sorry we couldn't join you. Off to shower and then sew Mickey heads...

Gina -

Sounds like you had a really nice weekend :thumbsup2 . . .and that you now have a bunch of stuff you are going to try to get done these next 5 days!!! :rotfl: I am going to be working on a bunch of little things tonight in an effort to cross some things off my list.

That is great that your timeshare will be ready for you!!!! I knew you had been struggling with what to do about that chocolate! It is so nice when things like that turn out to work in your favor!!!

Good Luck with all your projects this week!

Just wanted to let everyone know that there is some confusion about our cabin number. :confused3 The original documentation we received from TA said 5136 but the Disney web site says 5632. We still don't have our cruise documents since they went to TA and needed to be forwarded to us along with our WDW documents. (They are in the mail!)

Contacted DCL and they said that TA changed it within hours of the original booking back in Jan 2008. Contacted my SIL who was the manager of TA at the time that we booked and she doesn't remember and of course, TA that everything got transferred to (when SIL's store was closed) is on vacation!

:rolleyes1 Of course we just shipped box and faxed our medical forms with 5136 as stateroom number.:rolleyes1

Just wanted to scream! :eek::eek::eek:

Kathy

Hey there Kathy!

What a crazy situation!!!! I hope it gets figured for you soon so that you can feel like everything is in place and be at peace with your vacation again! :goodvibes

As far as the FE...if your room number is wrong...please let me know and I can help pass the word around so that all your gifts get to your family!!!

Hopefully you will get those documents soon!!!

Good Evening Everyone!!!!

We are home from the cabin - it was nice but pretty cold!!! I am so sick of cold weather and cannot wait for the warmth of Florida! We were able to spend time with our friends and my mom, plus do a bit of work up there.

I am VERY ready for our last 3 days at home! I cannot believe that we are finally this close. :goodvibes There is still a bunch of stuff to do...tutoring, last dance classes, haircuts for the boys, a couple of last minute magnets that I decided I can't do without, rearranging some of the stuff in the luggage to make everything fit, laundry, last bit of housecleaning and more!!! It is good to have a bunch to do so that it helps us pass the time!

A quick questions for those of you who have cruised before...

I would like to skip packing shampoo but am concerned about having enough for everyone. DD has a lot of hair and uses a lot of shampoo. Do you think I can skip it? Will they give us extra if I ask?

Thanks guys and have a great night!!!

The bottles are larger than travel sized bottles you'd purchase or that hotels leave for you. We can get a couple of days out of them with 4 people. As they get lower our host usually leaves a new bottle. Some others (I've read) have had success at tipping the host a few bucks up front to leave extra.

If anyone has been trying to get the sold-out dolphin swim in tortola - we just cancelled 9 reservations.

Not sure how long they take to cycle back into the system but just wanted any DIS'ers looking for those to get the first chance at them.

We decided to do the Dolphin swim at Discovery Cove in Orlando before we leave on the cruise so we are chartering a boat in Tortola instead.

Hello Susy!

We are chartering a boat in Tortola too! What boat/company did you decide to go with?

Thanks! I think we will skip shampoo and just pack conditioner - every little bit helps!:thumbsup2

Way to get it all together Ed! I keep on being able to find little projects to add to...or do more of....or change a bit! :upsidedow Good thing I leave in 3 days - at some point I just have to STOP!
