8/15/09-Eastern-Tortola Treasure Seekers #5

Happy Sunday.

My oldest DD had a get together yesterday with some friends - went well for 6 girls ages 12-13. She has a great set of friends.

My youngest DD is having her "kids" birthday party today as we will be on our trip on her true birthday. Better then last year as her party did not happen until Nov. last year. :flower3: Not year for the Mom of the year award. :rotfl2:

So getting both done in the same weekend and the kids are happy.

Going to try and get some packing done. Have the box finally together to ship down to the port. Less things we have to bring.

Question for you all: Have you every used the "space" bags while packing? If so do the clothes get really wrinkled?

Thanks and talk to you later.

Janeanne

Hope the party goes well. Looking, forward to meeting you all for dinner tonight!!

Where did you find this on DCL website? The other day it was saying we were completly SOLD OUT!!

Yes on the website and yes it was sold out, limited availability now.

Interesting, how some are available now!! I guess one never knows.........Just had friends book a cruise for Aug. 31st....on the Wonder.............:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Does anyone own DVC @ Vero Beach??

People always cancel, thats why DCL sell GTY rooms,- health reasons (Swine flu?) or family reasons, and claim on insurance. Even both the Eastbound Panama repos cruises, that sold out in hours of release had availability at the last minute re cancellations, but I could only access two slots so as near as you can say it, we are full.

Updates from the disneycrazzzy clan....we are me (Anna), my DS15 (Lucas), DS12 (Trevor), my sister (Claire), her DD15 (Faye), and her DS9 (Charles).

We finally got our cabins...6636 and 6638. Category 7s.

I am just finishing my packing. I leave for Florida on Sunday where I'll be working in Tallahassee until Thursday night where I'll meet my sister's family and my kids who've just flown in from Seattle. We are then on the 8/8 Western before the 8/15 Eastern.

We see 'Catch Me If You Can' tomorrow night. It was much cooler today...so here's hoping the theater isn't too hot.

I have two whole suitcases that are just FE gifts....I think I went a little overboard....

If anybody needs more magnets for their cabin door, come by our cabins. We'll have enough for the whole ship. I am using the last of my magnet paper and printer ink to print up as many "ears" for the door as I can. I originally designed them back in 2005.....just plain black ones. Now there are all kinds. Anyway...if you want some ears for your door...let me know. I'll reserve them....otherwise, it will be first come first served.

I need to have everything for DS15 and DS12 ready by tomorrow as well as my stuff. My DH will have the final packing duties. Of course all three of them have a personalized list I made for each so I don't have to worry about what they might forget. The #1 most important item is my DS15's retainer!

DH and I are having a "date" tonight. I am doing my last minute shopping and he is preparing for the blood drive he coordinates six times a year. We might stop at Taco Bell for dinner..... We will be apart for three weeks...
Even though the purpose of this cruise was to cheer up my sister after her DH's death (from cancer in February), it will be hard to be apart for that long. My husband is fishing in Canada for one of those weeks and hopefully he'll have his "catch" in the freezer when I get home.

I tried to get my company to pay for internet connectivity while on the boat....so far they haven't agreed. Just wait for the first system failure and they can't call me. Can you deny any calls from the emergency line? The great thing is then that I can't worry about it....it will be the first time in almost three years that I've taken a no-work vacation for more than 4 days.

I really wanted to use the left-over dye from a few weeks ago to make a few more tie dye shirts; but I think I've run out of time....

Lastly, I need to spend my last hours repairing the disaster I've made of the house in my attempt to get everything done....I don't want to come home to this in three weeks...

Happy travels everyone....

Hi, Anne. Its nice to have a fellow cruiser from our part of the world. When we were on the westbound transatlantic cruise in 2007, we found out mid-way in the cruise, that the people at the table next to ours only lived a mile away from us.

We would like a mickey ear magnet set. I'm working on our magnets this week.

We had originally thought to do FE, but by the time I got around to it, the list was closed, so we are not. We wanted to pack really light anyways. Who knows, maybe we will bring a few things to give out.

So, how did you like the play? We were originally suppose to go on sunday (7/26) but it was cancelled. Our schedule was pretty full, so we were lucky to reschedule for Thursday evening. It was a late night for the kids (yes, they came with us to the show), and we all enjoyed it.

I've never had to use the ship internet, but I'm always on call. Last trip to orlando, i left my cellphone in the car during the day at Seaworld, and I had a frantic message when I got back to the car. The system was down all day until I called in. It seems that the co-workers always forget how to do their job while I'm on vacation. I'm sure they would pay for internet if they needed me.

Safe trip everyone. We don't get into MCO until 4pm friday, so we won't get into the Radisson until the evening. If the pool is still open, I'm sure our kids will want to be there.

Ok not too much commentary here, as I do not wish to full foul of the family board rules, but here s a list of active threads on the main forum today...

I thought it was a cruise planning forum myself.

All true threads, not changed at all, maybe the order changed a slight bit.

Make up your own jokes...

Okay, you have asked, here is the Pillowcase thread ( 1 2)

Hi

Yes we posted that there was slight confusion earlier this week,

The 2.30pm at GOOFY POOL is the kids, they have agreeed ot meet up there at that time.

Sailaway will be after the mandatory life boat drill at 4pm. so should be ok for deck 10.

I personally, ( unless its raining) will not be inside.

Just back from couples weekend in Rhode Island. Had a perfect beach day on Saturday. Now, it is full planning/packing mode for the next 5 days. ACK!:scared1: I was so hoping to be more ready than I am but have lots of little things to attend to. Kids (and me) all need haircuts, need to prepurchase tickets online for Kennedy SC and Universal, laundry, finish sewing Mickey heads to tie dye shirts, paint spiral Mickey head shirts, make Pirate tshirts and all the other stuff that comes from leaving for two weeks. Oh yes, DH and I run a cub scout pack for our school so I need to write up an agenda and calendar for planning purposes for our return when my brain will still be on the Magic.

Good news is I came home to a message from our Timeshare asking for a contact phone number for arrival into MCO. They will call us when our room is ready :woohoo: We land at 10 am so I was planning to just go straight to a water park with luggage in the car but now I can leave it with them in an air conditioned room. This has been a HUGE internal debate for me between traveling with nut free chocolate for my son for turndown at night and fish extender gifts that I didn't want to melt.

Safe travels to those leaving in the next few days. Kristin and Janeanne-hope your dinner tonight went well, sorry we couldn't join you. Off to shower and then sew Mickey heads...

I am taking the tortola cruise on the 15th. Just wanted to drop in and say Hi!
Anyhow as I keep reading threads Im getting soooo confused. What are the formal , semi formal, semi casual nights about? what is treasure seekers? thanks all

Just wanted to let everyone know that there is some confusion about our cabin number. :confused3 The original documentation we received from TA said 5136 but the Disney web site says 5632. We still don't have our cruise documents since they went to TA and needed to be forwarded to us along with our WDW documents. (They are in the mail!)

Contacted DCL and they said that TA changed it within hours of the original booking back in Jan 2008. Contacted my SIL who was the manager of TA at the time that we booked and she doesn't remember and of course, TA that everything got transferred to (when SIL's store was closed) is on vacation!

:rolleyes1 Of course we just shipped box and faxed our medical forms with 5136 as stateroom number.:rolleyes1

Just wanted to scream! :eek::eek::eek:
