My last two cruises we also met about 2:30 by the drink station at the Mickey pool so that some of the kids could meet while they are swimming. I was going to suguest that to some of the parents that my DD has been writing. I don't mind meeting before the sail away party on deck 10, but my DD likes to be on deck 9 up front for all the action and I like to keep an eye on her, so if we could meet before that would be great. Anyone have any other thoughts?

2:30 or 3pm on Sat in Promenade lounge.

Just to add a little bit of extra confusion to these two conflicting times the kids have organised a meet at the 'goofy pool' at 2.30pm Saturday as well.

I was looking for words to tell you all how these last months have been beautiful ! Our cruise seems much more EXCITING as I know I'll meet so many DISers lovely friends !!!

I'm not sure how much time will be left to come on line ......

BUT Marco and myself want so much to THANK each of you for this thread and all the happy time we spent chatting / dreaming !!!

If you "spot" us ... not a difficult task ,
I don't expect anyone else to speak a good Italian / "strange" English ...
PLEASE stop by and say Hallo !!! or CIAO !!!

Its been really fun getting to know everyone a little bit before the trip...

We will be at the Beer Tasting and also probably some of the Art of Entertaining so we will watch out for you....

Also, those of us planning to do the CC5K will see each other then - we must get a photo taken at the start of that (I would say the end but I am convinced that I will finish ages behind the rest of you and also the photos will be so much nicer of us before we get hot, sticky and sweaty jogging in the warm Bahamian sun!

I would like the picture taken BEFORE we all run! I know that I will finish WAY at the END! My shin splints have gotten so bad that I am not jogging right now. I am taking the week off to see if that will help. I am for sure going to do the 5K but I am just concerned that I will be one of the last ones back!

Also, as I said somewhere in the last thread I will be going to the Art of Entertaining cooking demos alone so would love to meet up with some of you also attending those.

We will be doing all the Art of Entertaining sessions that we can! It will probably be DH, DSIL and me....feel free to join us!

DIS MEETS

Alright everyone...it is time to really think about our meets!!! Some of this was on our website, but let's discuss it a bit!

Here are some questions to answer:

1. Are you going to be trying to meet up with someone even BEFORE getting on the ship (Sunday morning)?
we are staying at the radisson thursday and friday,if anyone
wants to meet up.
we will try and catch up with Jen in the terminal for our lanyards

2. We had talked about meeting up on Deck 10 before/during the sail away party...is this something you are interested in doing?
promenade lounge or deck 10 is fine by us, just let us know which, Dave will be happy at either both have a bar !!!!!!!

3. We have planned on meeting each day at sea at 3:00 PM at the ice cream machine. Who plans on joining in for these?
if we are free we will be there

4. We had wanted a private wine/beer tasting (they would not do this for us though). Instead, who wants to try to pick out a "tasting" that we can all go to?
we will be doing both beer tastings( different beers at both tastings) both martini tastings ( again both different) margarita and tequila tasting . happy to share a table if anyone else is going

5. Does anyone have any other ideas for meeting up?

if we see anyone in Jens lanyards we will talk to them

Yes the kids have all agreed as far as I can see to meet at 2.30pm at the Goofy pool, (I monitor my kids posts), I had planed to be in that area at that time,

My rough timetable for the day of embarkation was:-

Concierge meeting, 12 noon.

Room 1.30pm,

Goofy pool 2.30pm.

Then safety drill / unpack.

Sail-away.

If its sunny and I hope it is I do not wish to go inside on the first afternoon, but stay on deck.

Just got word from my TA that the ship is completly SOLD OUT!!!! I even called DCL myself and they confirmed it.......

My TA said in the last week the remaining suites and balconies sold at top dollar......

The CM at DCL even said she was surprised that the ship has sold out in recent days!!!!!!!

Anyone hoping to upgrade at the port it does not look too good for ya!!!!!!

Wow - that's interesting.

I am in a category 1 and my sister is in a category 2 and DCL called her only at couple of weeks ago to ask if she wanted to upgrade to the other category 1 - so it must have been available.

She didn't take it because we are already spending $!$>$!$>$!$>$! on this trip, but so whoever booked it only got it a couple of weeks ago if it's filled up now.

Sold out means super crowded excursions, right?

We are booked private at Tortola and St. Thomas, and jet skiiing and cabana massage at CC.

Is there a list somewhere of the excursions everyone is doing? I'd love to see what everyone else is up to. There was a list like that for our DCL Med cruise.

You can find the list of who is doing what for excursions on the website. It is only as complete as what people posted here that they were doing.

On the website, click on the link at the top for PORTS OF CALL. From there, you have to click on the links in the main page for each port and you will find the list of who is doing what on the individual pages.

WOW!!!! I know that when we sailed 2 years ago (also in August...but on the Wonder) that our ship was also FULL!

It must be a very popular time with it being right before school starts.

Yeah! I officially finished my magnets today. I have been saying for at least one week, maybe longer, that I was going to get them done but kept putting them off.

I also finished some little flip type cards that I made for all the counter service restaurants at WDW. We will be there for a week using the new counter service dining plan and I wanted something quick we could refer to when we were deciding what we wanted to eat. I really like how they turned out. Each card is 2.5" x 3.5" - then I "laminated" them with my left over contact paper. Finally, I am going to punch a hole in the corner and put them on a metal ring so we can easily look at it anytime we are hungry!

The kids also had dentist appointments today. Now they can have bright, shiny smiles for the 1000s of photos I will take!

I have a bunch of things to do tonight as we are going to our lake place one last time tomorrow. We will be up there Friday - Sunday but have to come back early enough to get things packed up because.......

ONE WEEK from TODAY....We will be at WDW!!!!!

I am hoping even though the ship is full...it will not feel too crowded. As long as I can get into some of the things I want (Art of Entertaining and "tasting") and I can find a place to relax....I will be good!

My day was ok......The kids were good this morning, and I got a few things done. But two of our friends are using our pool for the private swimming lessons............The girls were not happy but they were supposed to be at camp..But my two friends and myself decided to pull the kids out it was AWFUL.....But we went to the Orchard to get Fresh Peaches with my parents this afternoon, then dinner, and then swimming again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cannot believe the ship is sold out. I was hoping . . . oh well. It is going to be great no matter where the cabin is.

I am STILL working on my magnets.

I REALLY have to start packing! I have started pulling but not serious yet.
