HOW ABOUT SOME MORE HOT TOPICS,

Has anyone pre paid tips or will you?

Has anyone ordered any gifts, wine or food for rooms, or birthday surprise?

Anyone hoping to upgrade at the port.

I will have to watch for answers to these as well! They are good questions.

I have not pre-paid our tips and have no clue if I will be that organized! :upsidedow

I know that I will not be ordering any gifts or having any surprises. Just being on the Magic is going to be a gift enough for the family. :lovestruc

We will not be looking to upgrade either. We are in the best room that I can imagine our family will ever have...cat. 4...above that is just a dream and will require winning the lottery! :rotfl:

Hot Topic on the Web Site What not to miss on a Disney cruise? What makes your list of things you feel you cannot miss? Is there a favorite thing to do with your spouse, kids, friends, etc? Is there something you always do on your first day? on your last night? Is there something on board that you think every person on board should not miss?

Hope to hear everyone sharing some ideas!

We are staying at the Port Orleans French Quarter for 6 days prior to cruising Disney.

We are using Disney transportation.

We do not plan on upgrading our cabins.

We are not ordering anything special. This vacation is special enough.

We like tipping on our own.

We are going on a cruise for Easter to the Bahamas. Leaving this Saturday.

Does anyone know how close Laura and Marco are to where the earthquake occurred? I am hoping that they are not near where all the damage is and that they are okay.

Firstly there was 'activity' registered on this sit last night, so she is ok, I do not know exactly, I think she said Milan on some posts when i was posting about Venice, that area is ok.

I hope so Andrew. Hopefully they will post before leaving for Paris. My family is just south of the earthquake area and while they are all okay, the families in the earthquake area are in my thoughts and prayers.

THANKYOU all for your thoughts !!
Here in Milano we are fine - though very saddened by this earthquake .
We think that a better "monitoring" (sp ?) could have saved many lives and feel SO SAD about it ...

Marco is in Naples (for his job) right now - and had his flight delayed , as :worship: many aircrafts are flying towards L'Aquila to help people overthere; he is fine though - quite far from Abruzzo.

One of my pupils has his Grandad living in Abruzzo who is "missing" - they do not hope to find him alive ...

THANKS again for your thoughts - much appreciated !

laura

Hey there former cruisemates. We are heading off on our FIRST ever Wonder cruise this Thursday. We have only done 7 nighters before but couldn't pass up the kids cruise free offer. We are planning to do this cruise commando style since it is only 3 nights. Any tips from other 3 nighters on how to make sure we don't get off the ship and wonder where the time went and what we did...

Hope you all are doing well.

Laura and Marco, our thoughts are with all of Italy.

:grouphug: THANK YOU Bev and all of you .
Your support really means a lot to us ; TV is continously showing sad views of destroyed small villages ... People overthere, who lost everything in the earthquake, are so brave and serene too, it's amazing how they are helping each others ...

I feel so sad - hopefully Marco and I will be happier when we are at Disneyland ...

Laura and Marco,
We are all so glad that you are okay. The pictures we've seen are pretty devastating.
My family is in Frosolone, in Campbasso. I spoke to a cousin who called over there and reported back that they are all okay. But it is still very scary. Hopefully there will be a happy ending for your student.
As for Italy, I have not been back since studying in Switzerland back in 1986 although we correspond (yikes - does that date me). I'm trying to talk DH into a family trip to Italy and Austria to visit relatives (well, my relatives anyway! LOL) but so far have not been able to schedule anything. I think he's concerned about the language issue. And, sadly, my Italian has deteriorated to the point of being nonexistent. (My great grandparents did not speak English so once they passed, so did my Italian lessons..)
Take Care

LOVE, LOVE the brunch at Paolo's. :dance3: Also, because I am a big mush, I love to watch the family photos on formal night.:love: Alright, guilty pleasure: sneaking away to the adult pool, snagging a mojito and enjoy some solitude. :cloud9:
