Hi Nikki, Harry
Yep we are back, just picked up the pets from boarding, uggg it was more than I expected. somehow I estimated wrong.
I am off this week too, so now maybe I will get to relax some
Last Tuesday started out well, oh at least I thought.
Your know that nagging feeling you forgot something or to do something.
I packed the car, loaded the roof rack and attached the bike rake and bikes.
Mail and paper was stopped for the week, Timers were set for the lights.
We locked the house and were off.
On time yet.
Still it went too well, oh well if we forget something, we properly didn't need it.
We had driven about two hundred miles, stopped for lunch and has about another 100 miles to go, and then it dawn on me what I forgot.
A little background,
In 1995 I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. I use a cpap machine to help me keep my air passage ways open at night. I used it every night since without fail
Yep it was my machine, When we were packing the car, I remember saying to Beth, I needed to go back in the bedroom and get my machine.
Well packing the roof rack and attached the bike rack and bikes took longer and was hard work on a hot humid morning.
I came back in the house thinking the car trunk, roof rack and bikes were all loaded. I even walked in the bedroom to make sure the lights were off, but Beth and I didn't see the machine was still on the night stand.
We had left at 11 am, and stopped for lunch around 12:30. I takes about 5 hrs with rest stops and lunch to get to the campground. It was now 2:30pm I was at the point 1 1/2 hrs to the Lake and about the same to back to home.
If it was almost anything else, I would have continued on, but next exit I got off and headed back home. We got back home at 4pm.
Pick up my machine, used the bathroom and back into the car
Had dinner on the road too, and got to the lake at 9pm.
In total our 5hr trip took 10hrs.
We had a great time even with the packing issue.
No one to get mad at except myself. First time in all these years I forgot my machine.
