Hi folks. I haven't posted here in a while but I've been lurking. Harry - looks like you had a great trip! Only two weeks (from tomorrow) until we leave for California!!!! It sure has gotten here fast. Too much work to do before we go but I'm sure I'll make enough progress to relax as much as possible.

Hope you all are having a great week!

jeff

Hey there Jeff!

Hi Harry. How goes it? Maybe I should post some pics of our trip to Bethany Beach...

We had this simulator for driver's ed before they released us on the roads (of course us adolescent boys referred to it as the "stimulator", but that's a different story...).... anyway... everyone in the school knew about a part where a ball would come bouncing out from behind a parked car... everyone knew a little kid would be following it.... and yet we all nailed that poor little guy because we were all just staring at that stupid screen!

we always watch 2 movies each class. the first one was about a boy named kevin who was driving drunk and told his girlfriend "it can't happen to me" and then he kills an innocent girl all because he was drunk. he had to pay the family in checks every friday for 18 years. i was almost crying, thats how sad it was. it was all a true story too. then the second one, the disturbing and sad one, i think it was call getting your licence or somthing like that and there were pop quizes and tips. it told us all about Tailgaters and how accidents can happen cause of them. and thats when they showed the very gory (if i spelt that right lol) part.

Lucky!! :thumbsup2 I bet you'll have a great time Ed!

Well they had to do something. If you remember when I first got the reservation it was to be for a 29 ft unit, The reservation had the code for the Rv but when I called to check because the description of the unit didn't sound right. They had charged me the rate for the 29ft unit but had me down for a cabin with only a full bed and one bunk bed, which rents for half the cost.

When I called them, they indicated they didn't have any 29ft RV for the time frame I wanted. They put me on hold and got a supervisor who told me they would upgrade me and send a new confirmation.

Well I waited but never got a new confirmation, so I called told with checked, They verified the unit and where it was and it being the 40ft unit, so I know its in the system correct now. :cool1:

Hello all,

Hope everyone has been well. We have been mostly hanging out by the pool these days and doing alot of nothing really. Soon, the kids will be back in school. It seems like the summer goes by too quickly. The school year is so busy and I don't look forward to it at all. We haven't been looking forward to the fall either with winter right behind it. I really fear those darn oil prices this winter. We went looking at pellet stoves to avoid those big oil deliveries. I was surprised to find what really nice ones they have. So, I guess we will pay for a stove what we are nearly paying for this cruise. It is always something new to buy.

I took Kaitlyn back to school shopping already. I know I hate to say the words, but she really wanted to go. I have to go for everyone still, anyone else start?? Just looking for deals. :teacher:

Have a good day, Sandy.

Love it Harry. My entitlement story concerns a local politician. We were at a basketball game and using the elevator to go down to the lobby after the game because my DD9 doesn't like going down on escalators. Elevator is relatively full, it stops on the luxury box level. An older couple are waiting and they look and clearly can't decide if they want to squeeze on. Before they can even move a few feet (a former female member of congress who was voted out last year) pushed past the older couple and got on nearly trampling my four year old. She was entitled to be next on I guess.

I know Walmart carries shin guards and shoes but we've had the best luck with Dick's Sporting Goods. (do you have those near you?) We've bought anything from Nike, Converse, Umbro. Actually Dave just went there today to get Hayden's gear for this season. I would highly recommend that you buy her stuff now rather than wait, otherwise it could be picked over by the time her season starts. As far as shin guards go, we prefer the pull on sock-type ones over the hard plastic pieces. Both of my kids complain that the hard plastic type hurt. One year we bought 3 different kinds for Hayden to try. Harry will probably have better suggestions for you in regards to the shoes and guards but now is the prime time to buy them! Is Jordan excited to play?

She is excited!! We do have Dick's by us, so I'll probably go there or Sports Authority.

We have been shopping for school too, we have to get uniforms, and we got some tennis shoes too. We got all of the school supplies too. Lots of $$$$$- I'm glad I only have one!!:goodvibes

You are lucky buying for one. It is a fortune to buy for 5 of them. What are you going to do? The fun of a big family I guess. We have to pay the price tag that comes along with it. If anyone knows of any good deals, I would love to know. I have gotten a ton of great short sleeve tops, shorts and capris. I really need to focus on the winter stuff now.

Sandy

Not school clothes, because DS has a school uniform, but I have purchased a lot of great clothes off Ebay for reasonable prices. Thankfully DS school has a uniform swap, but I still spent $$$ getting some basics.

Gosh, buying of 5 - I can't imagine it (and the laundry too!)

Yeah, thanks goodness for all her cousins!! I would check Children's Place- I heard they are having a good sale- do they have them where you live?

Here's an off topic question. Kristen, Harry and anyone else who has a pool - how much does it cost you to heat it every month? We are thinking of putting in a pool - the pool guy was just here scaring me about all the dirt he is going to move.

I wish we had uniforms!! Our city school kids wear them but out in the burbs, we don't have them.
