Jeff, is she nervous?! A solo is a pretty big deal! Good luck to her. DD's recital is next Saturday, dress rehearsal is next Friday, and pictures are tomorrow. I already signed her up for tap next year. I can't believe she is not even 6 years old and she is finishing her 3rd year of dance.

She IS nervous but trying not to be. She knows the dance. She is doing a jazz solo to "Can't Help Falling in Love with You" - the uptempo version from Lilo and Stitch. It's pretty amazing how she has progressed.

Your daughter sounds like both of mine. They both started dance before age 3, so my oldest (the 9 year old) has 7 years in already and my youngest (age 4) is finishing her 2nd year. The oldest does ballet, baton, tumbling, jazz, hip hop and Hawaiian dance. The youngest ballet, tap, tumbling and Hawaiian. They have such a good teacher. She is really good with the kids but doesn't take herself too seriously. I'm hoping to be able to post video of the solo using Photobucket and if I can, I'll provide the link here. Proud dad and all..

Abby,

I got an email back. It is a NO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Kay-

My first cruise (not DCL) was in August and all I remember was it was HOT. I don't recall there being rough seas other than the last night of the cruise.

Triple digits already? Is that early for you? We had great weather for a little whil and now we are back to cool weather.

We usually get a few days a year where we hit triple digits. This is early though but not unheard of (the day my DS was born May21 it hit 110 - but then it has rained on his b/day too - you can never tell in May) Normally temperatures this time of year are high 70's/early 80's. Summer is usually 90 ish but can go higher. The heat is a dry heat so I find it more bearable than the same temperatures in FL.

Hey, its a great excuse for a nice cold margharita :cool1:

Please do share if you can! I love this stuff. I'll have to post pictures of Gwynne in her costume tomorrow.

Your girls have really impressive dance classes! So far we limit it to one class. I'm hoping she finds her niche, because so far she hasn't been crazy about ballet or jazz.

WHAT??????!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you serious? She didn't book or she canceled? Thank you for asking Kristin! Maybe it's under Matthew? I'm still not going to ask her! I do not want to discuss it.

No booking at all under her name........I can ask about Matthew if you want too?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just sent you an e-mail. I went ahead and asked because I needed to send an e-mail anyway. If it is the case, I don't know if I should feel guilty or be relieved. :upsidedow

Good morning Harry! And anyone else out there!

Harry - tonight is do or die, eh? You going to the game? Pens look like a team on a mission with the way they are playing defense.

Hope everyone is having a great week. We are gearing up for the girls' recital this Sunday. Dress rehearsal on Friday. DD9 is doing her first solo this year. Dad's going to cry! :rotfl:

Happy Thursday!

jeff

Hey Jeff - just got in from the game as the Flyers live another day I guess... Pens defense, as you point out, has been awesome - thru the entire playoffs really.

Yep. Now it's a series. Can't wait to hear all the talk shows today with people calling in to say the Penguins are doomed. :rotfl: Makes me crazy but it sure is entertaining. Obviously I didn't enjoy the game much last night :lmao: but did have some fun after the Pens made it 3-2 and they kept showing people in the stands looking stressed, chewing their fingernails, with their hands on their faces. Looked like something right out of a Pittsburgh crowd.

It's good to know that sports radio in Pittsburgh is equally as "interesting" as Philadelphia!! Was I one of the faces you saw?! DS was "praying" - it was funny.

Well now, I don't know. I saw folks praying too. The funniest, however, was the guy biting his fingernails. They kept the camera on him for a full 8-10 seconds (which is a LOOOOONG time to watch someone chew their fingers).

I deleted the other pictures because they were not organized by date in photobucket. I have issues with organization- so I started over... Anyway here are more...

Nikki -
You are getting me very excited for our upcoming trip next week! I see that you went to the P&P party. We are doing that this time too. How did you find it? Was it very crowded? What would you recommend we not miss?

It was so fun!!! If you want to see Captain Jack, go get in line around 5:30-5:45, under the Adventureland verendah, we were about 4th or 5th in line, and were the first group to see him. He spent 5-10 minutes with everyone, had a full conversation with my DD about joining his crew, but she would have to get new shoes(she had pink/purple Minnie crocs on)LOL, we got some great pics. Everyone was saying that was the longest line all night, one and 1/2 hours.:scared1: It was not crowded at all- all of the other stuff, all of the rides were walk ons- the longest was for Space Mountain- 10 minutes!! The parade and fireworks were awesome too. Some of the best I have seen. All of the characters are out late, maybe until 11:30. We walked off of Small World at 12:00 on the dot, the clock was chiming- and walked to the right, and Cinderella's coach was there, no line to get pictures with it, it had pumpkins and all. It was really pretty. We walked out of the park about 12:15am.

Sounds Great! Thanks. We have been to MNSSHP and MVMCP and didn't like the Halloween one so much but loved the Christmas party so much that we went TWICE on an earlier trip to WDW. That was before DD4 cost us to get into such events! Really looking forward to P&P.
