8/10/2008 - Mexican Party Cruise - Who's Here??

From what I read on the trip report, they don't advertise it.

My daughter did a makeover, just her hair, at Disneyland last time, they were so great (and so quick). If it is going to be as great as they were at Disneyland, we will be staying on the ship for sure (after all, I am not really a beach person either like D'Anne's friend). Forget braids!

I memorized what the Disney stylist did to my DD's hair and do it at home all the time. Everybody including people at her hair place ask how I do it. It is so easy, but looks so special, plus her hair stays put for a long time.

Dear Debbi & Becky,

I am so sorry for the delay.
I finally have your name tags.
It wasn't any work at all, I just could not stay up at night.

They are at:

Be careful that there are Chirs from each group.

If there is any correction needed, just let me know, OK?

I just got the fish extender and pillow cases I ordered from ebay. They are beautiful!!! I am so excited!

Only 18 more days!:woohoo: Actually, that sounds exciting, but a little stressful too...so much left to do! :scared1:

Panic mode up to 8 now. Leaving 2 weeks from tomorrow for California. Looks like I'll be the one at the Promenade Lounge every night with my laptop...

What do they do at Disneyland and where?
I am the one that asked the question about little girls getting their hair done on the trip report because my 2 and 1/2 year old has only had 2 haircuts and both were at WDW. I wanted to get Jenni's haircut again on Disney property but DL doesn't offer haircuts (from what I have been told on the DL board) so I thought I would check out if it could be done on the cruise. I thought the spa and salon on the Magic were only for adults... but then I found out that it is possible to take children on port days.:)

Just cancelled our Best of Mazatlan excursion. It was a long, drawn-out process, but seems to have worked. I feel so free! :yay: :yay: :yay: Hey, that's $240 we can spend on something else. I bet we could eat a lot of shrimp for $240.

Now if only I could decide how to structure that day, besides the shrimp-eating part....

Did you call someone to cancel it or did you do it online? I tried online and it looked like it worked but then it showed up again the next day???

I did it online. It was a strange process, took several steps, and seemed to work. I made some other changes at the same time, so I hope it worked! Did you do the confirmation step? I almost missed that one. I'll check again tonight and in the a.m. to see if it's reappeared.

Keith, I just checked my reservation. So far the cancellation seems to be working. They didn't pick up my attempt to add DS1 to our Puerto Vallarta excursion, so I've tried again on that one, a different way, and so far it's worked. I'd try again if I were you - their reservation system seems to be inconsistent. :confused3

Good luck!
Susan

Dear Jami,

As you mentioned, DL does not do haircuts. It was just updos and all the other makeovers. They add up to a little over $300. So I just chose a hair updo and it was $30, not bad at all (It cost $20 here for a updos + nails + a little makeup @ this local girls' makeover place, and $35 for just updos @ kids haircut salon).

The location was sort of in front of It's A Small World & the entrance of Toon Town area. It was kind of like a hide away theater place. It is very hard to see from the out side. They had set up a small princess village and they did shows by all the princesses, story telling by one of the princesses, meet the princesses (kind of like Mickey's house?), and the makeover section complete w/ princess merchandise, and also a craft section.

We were there the whole Thanksgiving week last year. It seems like they are still there.

I found a picture of my DD's hair, so you can have some kind of idea. If they do this on the ship, I am staying on the ship!

I almost missed the confirmation step also...After I got it changed I went back to my cruise plans and it was changed and I printed it out....

Thanks! I tried it again and it seems to have worked for me too. It is a shame the reviews have been so bad because it seemed like a nice trip.

I thought the Krystal Resort was in PV? Do they have one in Mazatlan too?

I am more confused than ever. DS4's "girlfriend" just got back from a land trip to Mexico and I ran into her dad this morning at drop off. They went to Mazatlan so I asked him how it was. He didn't feel it was very kid friendly unless they stayed at their hotel (their DD4 is their only child). They did a tour to Stone Island and he wasn't very impressed, said it was just sitting at a table on the beach, not a lot to do. :confused3 I'm sure experiences are heavily influenced by expectations, but they travel to Mexico often. He did say that they're not beach people though. I was leaning toward doing that on our own, but now I'm just not sure. :confused3

D'Anne

Sorry, Yes the Krystal is in PV... I meant to say the Hotel Playa. Frank refers to this hotel with pool and beach being a nice place to visit in the Middle of the Golden Zone!

Thanks! That looks great! It looks similar to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in WDW!:goodvibes

That is a great idea - I copied to my computer, but should probably print it out, too. When I checked DCL's website again this a.m., they'd dropped DS1 from our Puerto Vallarta excursion AGAIN! So I added him again. Think I'll go print it out now!

Hi Michelle
We go to Disneyland about 10-12 times a year, and we always stay at the Residence Inn where there is a full kitchen and free breakfast..........but I will tell you RIGHT in front of Disneyland where we all walk from.......(it's closer to the gate then the Disneyland hotel through Downtown Disney just the opposite way) is an IHOP with all their great breakfasts deals especially for kids. We also eat in downtown Disney at the cafe Orleans, because they make fresh hot beignets all day long...........and the bakery on mainstreet is always a favorite in the morning. When I have stayed at the Disneyland hotel I do not recall a fridge, but that does not mean they do not have them.

They do not have refillable mugs..BUT they do have free coffee once you buy a cup if you keep your receipt..you are suppossed to keep your cup too, but I have never had a problem just showing my receipt. If you buy a cup of soda you are allowed to go to the soda fountain and refill it free prior to leaving the restaurant.

If you have any other questions, please let me know and I will try to help!
Debbi

Thank you so much Ayumi............I really apprecite it!! They are perfect:hug: BUT I am "missing" Brianna, Brentwood CA..........do I just not know what I am doing or did I "forget" her.......if I did don't tell her, she is a sensitive "child" :cutie:
