8/10/2008 - Mexican Party Cruise - Who's Here??

*bump*
Anyone else????

Hope all the Moms had a great Mother's Day on Sunday! :thumbsup2

I'm happy to report that I've been doing a little more planning for our West Coast trip. Actually this is very good news as I did wonder if I'd have to cancel due to the crazy cost of flights to LA from the UK! It was all looking sooo expensive until someone on the UK Disboard put me onto an airline called Maxjet! They are a Business Class only airline who do wonderful fares to/from US/UK! I can't tell you what a relief it is to know that we can still sail the Mexican Riviera will you all... :woohoo: Have a great day and hopefully we'll all chat soon... :grouphug:

Giving us a friendly *bump* as we were on page 5!!!! :scared1:

Anyone else out there want to join us??? :confused3

Hi Karen

I am on the cruise before this one, the Aug 3, 08

I see your having the same problem we are with the Aug 3rd list

Maybe when we hit the year mark both threads will take off.

I will check in every so offen to see how your list is doing.

Maybe the two threads can share info as we get closer.

Ed

Hi Everyone

Sorry I haven't been around. Life is crazy here, and I have gone months without the internet it seems!! I just added two more grandchildren to our family this past week (well, to be fair my son added them! :rotfl2: ).

Seems like not too many people yet. I'll try to get on more in the coming months. Everyone who is here so far, please send me your info, i.e., who is coming, names, ages of kids, cabin #'s if you feel comfy doing that. I'll get our list going!

If we find anyone with teens, my girls will love e-mailing early. Believe it or not, they still talk online with kids from cruises 4 years ago!! lol The internet is a wonderful thing!

You can mail info here or to my e-mail joandernie@aol.com.

I CAN'T WAIT!!

Well it's now less than a year to wait and it's basically a sell out so I guess people will start coming out of the woodwork now.
Have your teens been in the stack before? My oldest has three times before and keeps in touch with some friends from Easter 2005, June 2006 and some new ones from July 28 2007.

We signed up for the Mexican Riviera cruise not knowing if we would want to cruise again after completing our first cruise with Disney on the Mediterranean (7/28). I guess the Med was a "test" cruise to see if we liked cruising and whether we wanted to sail again on the Magic. We certainly thought of it highly enough that we're keeping our plans to sail on the Magic next August.

I will be traveling with my wife and son who is now 7. We live in San Francisco and will likely drive down to LA. We befriended two great families and are discussing the possibility of getting together again for this cruise. One of the families was also from London.

For those thinking of traveling to SF as part of the trip - do it! You'll experience occasional fog in August, but that is part of the SF experience. Note that although cool in the City, a short drive in any direction will yield temperatures that vary as much as 20 degrees (upward)! Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Before sailing on our Med cruise, I learned much from the DISboards that added to our enjoyment. Look forward to getting to know everyone over the next year.

Just returned from my 1st WDW trip!! Now I can turn my attention to the Mexican Riviera!! It's just little old 43 yr old me. ( I'll be 44 @ Thanksgiving!!). This will be my 2nd cruise ever. (Took a 3 day weekender to Catalina Island and Ensenada back in 1991 with RCL). I've been trying to take ANY Disney Cruise since it was called the BIG RED BOAT!! Now it's my time and it's in my 'hood!! :woohoo:

Nice to see some more cruisers joining us! :woohoo: :welcome:

Those Med cruises sounded fab, HawaiianWill and I can't believe we didn't do one! :confused3 Rest assured the next time the Magic comes to Europe, we'll be there...

Karen -

After speaking with the few who were on the cruise, I know that Disney didn't really market the Med cruise to people in the UK and Europe because they knew the demand from the US would be enough to fill the ship. Coming from the UK and given the strength of the British pound, you'd be foolish not to take advantage of cruising with DCL given the great bargain. All of the onboard communications were in English and I know that some of European travelers who didn't speak English were miffed about that - especially when they missed the life jacket drill the first day.

Interestingly, we heard that out of the 2500 passengers on our cruise, 900 were children. The percentage of children on our cruise was far less compared to the >50% of children who travel in the Caribbean - probably due to the costs of Transatlantic airfare. Wonder whether the percentage of children on the Mexican Riviera will be closer to DCL's norm. While there, I never felt that the ship was being overrunned by kids.

William, I already feel foolish not booking for this summer when I had the chance! :confused3 Ah well another day, another cruise! ;)

Been checking out the excursions that were on offer last time around - they really do sound good. :thumbsup2 My DS is a big scuba fan so plenty to keep him happy and if he's happy - well, I'm sure you know the rest... :woohoo:

Hi everyone!

We arrived home yesterday morning from our Western Caribbean cruise and I'm feeling a little spacey but not too bad! We had an amazing, wonderful time and I really can't wait to return next year!!! The stateroom was awesome, the CMs treated us so well and made our vacation even more special than we'd ever expected. We met some fab DiSfolk and shared our dining table with 2 wonderful couples that we'd linked our reservations with. The Vow Renewal was perfect for Richard and I - very romantic and yet full of fun. I'll be doing a trip report with photos when I get back from WDW...

Hope my Mexican Riviera Party cruisemates are all well and I look forward to chatting with you all soon...

Just wanted to remind myself of my next Magic cruise with a ticker...

Hi all we will be on this cruise... DH, Myself, DD17, DS13 and DS22 months (at the time of the cruise).:cool1:

We will be celebrating our 25th anniversary on the 13th of Aug. party:

This will be our 2nd time going to Mexico on the Magic:banana:

Hope to keep in touch with you all!!!!!

Until then it is :laundy: :drive: the kids all over!! and trying not to go crazy :crazy2:

:welcome: aboard! :cool1:  :cool1:

We've just celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary on the Magic and had an amazing time so I'm sure you'll love it...

I've now booked our flights to LAX for next August - got a really sweet deal as we were able to use our accumulated airmiles so DH and I fly for free! We're paying full price for DS but at least he'll be able to start collecting miles of his own... Just put a room request in with DVC for the 3 of us at either the Disneyland Hotel or the Grand Californian - if we get that sorted with our DVC points, the vacation costs will be kept low and we can splurge on a couple of tours! :woohoo:

Well I am glad to see that there are other people lurking around that are not going until August! I thought I was one of the only ones...It will be me and my dd (10) and I am soooo ready! :yay: :yay:

Hi! :wave2: I've just returned from 11 days in WDW with my DD - we had an amazingly fab time especially as we were upgraded at the Yacht Club to concierge level which was rather special and somehow Magic Your Way tickets plus the DDP were thrown in too! As you can imagine, we were blown away... :woohoo:

We over-indulged at EPCOT's Food & Wine event but, for us, the highlight of our trip was definitely Around the World on a Segway - if anyone's ever been tempted to try this tour, I say go for it, you won't be disappointed! :thumbsup2

We were a little shocked at the crowd level - EPCOT was packed every time we ventured into the park but MNSSHP was less heaving than we'd been led to believe. Oh and I loved the HalloWishes fireworks...

Hi there! Good to have you with us!!!

Don't know about you but I'm just so glad we're finally less than a year away now - seems a little more real somehow. I've also been able to book 6 nights at the Disneyland Hotel following the Mexican Riviera cruise - used DVC points and now we are all set for next summer!!! Can't wait... :cloud9:
