7th month availability GV

What’s the general 7th month availability of 2 bedroom and GVs at grand Floridian, boardwalk and AK? We would be looking at Thanksgiving week.

Our offer just got accepted at Grand Californian and looking at different options like VGF, boardwalk and AK for a bigger trip! VGF would be our top choice but would have back ups.

Not good for Thanksgiving week. That would be true for any size room at the resorts you mention (and others) except some outside chance for 1BRs. Also, if you mean the upcoming Thanksgiving, you are already past the 7 month window and, by the time you can reserve, there is unlikely to be anything left anywhere at the WDW resorts, including even SSR, for this year.

If you are not aware of reservation patterns yet, be aware that the time between late Sep and marathon weekend in Jan is DVC's high demand time at WDW, and getting anything at the resorts you mention at 7 months can often be difficult. Moreover, even during the mid-Jan to late Sep time, DVC's low to moderate demand season, getting some rooms, such as GV's at boardwalk or AK Jambo, can often be difficult at 7 months out, although the ones at VGF have a better chance; during that time 2BRs at VGF, AKV Kidani, and BWV pool/garden view are usually open at 7 months out.

VGF GVs are spectacular. But there are only 6 of them, so they are very gettable at 11 months, but spotty at 7 months. It is always worth a try, because the points chart is high over thanksgiving.

It wouldn’t be this Thanksgiving...we already have plans at DL. We are aware of the DVCs high and low seasons.

It would be for a bigger trip in the future and we would have the points to cover if needed. I just wanted to see a general idea of availability of grand villas. It sounds like we will just have to see.

We’ve had pretty decent luck with GVs (GF, AKL, BLT, SSR) during holiday seasons waitlisting (except at Boardwalk) but it takes consistent vigilance. Get whatever nights you can as soon as 11 or 7 month window opens and waitlist the rest. Meanwhile consistently check the ever changing inventory and grab new nights as you go
