7th January 2007, Dancing Queens Thread CONTINUED

This happened to me yesterday...I posted it on the TKer thread but thought you might be interested too, Mandy!
I have a bit of interesting news.....
I was going to get my DGD Brittany and drive her here so she can stay for awhile. and I figured seeing as I'm just driving there and back...Ill take Albert with me. She had some boxes to bring and I was using Mikes truck. After putting Albert in the truck, I noticed a box in the back seat, so I put down the windows a crack and got the box and shut the door( so he wouldn't get out)..walked the box to the shed and then right back to the truck. Well I went to get in and the truck was LOCKED...It was about 80 degrees out... I had started the car, so my keys were in it... I had locked my house ...so I couldnt get in there...and I had NO reception with my cell....
BY this time Albert was panting pretty badly...I tried and tried to find a way in... BUT couldn't get anything to work....I was a wreck....in a panic....crying.....Sooooooooo...I went and got the cover for the grill slid it in the drivers side window and covered the whole thing, then got a small sledge hammer, and broke it!....IT was so hard to break!....I have bruises all down my arm from trying to push it in the crack, and I bashed my knuckle when I hit the window....BUT Albert is fine, and all's well....EXCEPT for the window!...
The insurance will pay for it after my deductible....
I dont think I have been that upset for many years....I actually was sick for the rest of the day.. from reaction I guess....I'm fine now...and the guy is going to be here Wed. to fix the window....BUT what a day!

It was a good day today, and I got a lot done...Planted, mowed, ironed, and made some great meals too!;)

Happy Friday Dancing Queens :dance3:

I hope you're all well and looking forward to the weekend. What are your plans ? Are you doing anything nice for the 4th of July Betsy ?

Paul and I are heading up to Manchester tomorrow for a bit of shopping, a lovely Chinese meal and a few TGI's cocktails (which are on offer for the 4th July weekend - sounds good to me) :)

 Betsy ~ Oh my, what a day you had the other day, you must've been so worked up with worry with Albert stuck in the truck, it must've been a scary time for you. Thank goodness you got him out and all that's left is a broken window that can easily be replaced ::yes::

Yes we did have our BBQ last weekend, it was a lovely day on Sunday :)

Robin ~ I hope you're OK. Have you sold your house yet ? I hope you're getting plenty of people coming to have a look round

Have a great weekend girls, whatever you're up to :)

 It has been busy busy busy around here lately.

We have had quite a few people through and even had an offer last weekend but the price was not very good so we had to let it go.

The exciting news is that we got our new house on Thursday. Now we have two houses to worry about:eek:

We are staying at the old house while we work on getting the new house in a proper state for us to want to move into. Also it is easier to sell a house when it has furniture in it, so we will stay here until we sell this one or until we get tired of staying here:rotfl2:

We have a painter working at the new house right now. It is exciting to see how paint can change the look of a place. Picking colours for an entire house was a big job though since we are having it all freshly painted.

I hope you had a great weekend Mandy. How did your shopping trip turn out? What did you buy?

:dance3: Hey Dancing Queens

I hope you are all well. What are you up to this weekend ? Anything nice ?

We've got a very quiet weekend here, with the highlight being a BBQ tomorrow as the weather is supposed to be nice :)

Robin ~ how exciting that you've got your new house, post some pics of it when you can please. When do you hope to be moving in ?

I had a lovely time last weekend, we didn't buy much, but we had a couple of nice meals and the weather was so lovely that we sat outside in the sunshine enjoying a glass of wine :)

Have a great weekend girls ::yes::

Hello Ladies,
It has been just beautiful here too!...
I've been doing a lot of outdoor things...so I'm really enjoying it!:cool1:

No real plans for this weekend though... Maybe go work on the cottage, or just swim at the lake. :cool2:
I think its gonna be a "wing it" type of weekend.:confused3

Wishing you both, an enjoyable one too!:wizard:

I have been having a terrible time getting the DISboards to load lately. I keep giving up on it:confused3

We were supposed to go to an airplane thing this weekend but decided to just skip it and do some work at the new house.

The weather has been very summery here and I have been loving it. At least when I've been able to spend some time outside enjoying it.

We don't have a move in date but I will definitely let you know when we do decide to go.

Hello DWDQs!
I have been a busy girl lately.

This is the weekend Mike and I are celebrating our Anniversary. It's on the 19th, but Mike has to work. So we have decided to set aside the weekend before. We aren't going anywhere. Just trying to spend some quite time together, without other commitments. Maybe a walk around Salt Springs State Park.
It has been so nice out! Hot and sunny, just how I like it.

We went to an open air flea mkt. this morning! Wow what a lot of junk!... But some cool things too. I found a beautiful Wedgwood veggie bowl with cover. She wanted $10, but took $8. I think its worth a lot more then $10! It doesnt really matter though, I want it to use! I love old dishware.

Well Im off to enjoy the rest of the day!
I hope you are all enjoying it too!

Hey Dancing Queens :)

I hope you're having a lovely weekend. It's been wet and damp over here this weekend, I hope the nice weather comes back soon

Last night Paul & I went to Birmingham for the evening, we had a lovely time, we had a delish Italian meal and a couple of yummy cocktails, we had a really nice time

Happy Anniversary Betsy & Mike for the 19th, how many years is that now ? It sounds like you picked up a bargain at the flea market

I loved your blog, I look forward to reading your next one ::yes::

Robin, I hope you're having fun doing up your new home :)

Hey ladies.

We are in the oven over here......... or maybe it is the deep fryer :confused3

I don't know for sure which one it is but it sure has been hot.

Not that I am complaining mind you. Liz is because she has no air conditioning and after a couple of weeks of temperatures nearing the 100 degree mark it starts to wear on you.

Robin,
Its been really hot here too. I hate to say it after this last springs rains, but WE NEED RAIN.... My yard is getting crispy:sad1:
Poor Liz:scared:... I have AC in my bedroom, so if it gets too hot for me I just go in there and cool off.

Have a good eveningpixiedust:

Well it looks like I am talking to myself on this thread!
I hope all the DQs are doing OK.

It has been pretty cloudy the last couple of days...I don't really mind though as we have had such great weather lately.

I am also getting very excited that our WDW trip is only a couple of weeks away! I got my tags and things in the mail last week.:goodvibes

Enjoy the day!

:wave2: Hey Betsy, I'm here

I hope all you Dancing Queens are keeping well, we're all great thanks, and crossing off another week towards our family holiday ~ only 5 weeks tomorrow till we're boarding the plane to Orlando :yay:

I've got a fun weekend planned, I'm hoping to be meeting up with some friends tomorrow, then we're going to see our niece on Sunday as it's her 18th birthday

It's very dull and cloudy here too, but I think it's going to brighten up over the weekend :)

Betsy, you must be so excited about your trip, when do you leave ?

Robin, how's things ? I hope you're enjoying doing up your new home ::yes::

Have a great weekend girls, whatever you're up to

Mandy,
We leave on the 15th and stay for 10 days. The nice thing is our plane doesn't leave for home until 7PM...So we have most of that day too!
We wont be able to go to a park, but we can resort hop or just hang by the pool all day. Everyone is very excited!

This weekend we have a wedding to go to. Its at the state park down the road, so nothing fancy.. Kind of nice to not have to get all dressed up in this heat. I know MIke will like that idea.:thumbsup2

It's starting to sound like a thunderstorm is heading our way.
I'm off to shut all the windows and close my umbrella on my patio. :teleport:

TTFNpaw:

Hey there ladies

It has been very hot hot hot and sunny here lately except for yesterday when it rained a bit and we had a huge thunderstorm early this morning.

I see that you are all excited about your upcoming trips. The time will fly by real quickly and you will be enjoying the best place(s) in the world.

We are still working on our house. Not working real hard but doing bits and pieces. The painter is still painting but we told him we were in no hurry and he is just coming and going as he pleases. The main level is almost all painted, just one little shelving area and some touch ups to finish. The basement is maybe 1/2 done.

So much to do, but so little ambition to do it :lmao:

Hi everyone. I have a question for all you veteran sailers.

How many of you brought your own liquor on boards? :listen:

I can't help you with that Cally.

I am a non alcohol drinker. The stuff just tastes nasty to me:upsidedow

We did!...
We got to the port the night befor we sailed and there was a liquor store right in that area..we bought a couple of bottles of wine and a bottle of rum...drank the wine, but didnt even touch the rum, so we left it for mousekeeping! You have to keep it with you when you board...it cant go in your checked stuff...No problem with it at all.:thumbsup2

I plan on bringing maybe a bottle or 2 of wine. I know Roger will bring something for sure.

That's a good idea to leave it with mousekeeping. I bet they get a lot of stuff like that. :thumbsup2

I've never brought any alcohol onboard before either (I just love those DCL cocktails ::yes:: ) though I will be taking on a bottle of Malibu and Vodka on our next cruise, yes I believe you have to carry it onboard yourself, I wouldn't want one of those bottles to break or leak in our luggage
