7th January 2007, Dancing Queens Thread CONTINUED

Good evening ladies.

We have made it back from our weekend away.

It was a nice weekend with friends but extremely windy so that airplane flying was majorly curtailed.

Liz called yesterday and said that she has an ear infection and a big sore in the back of her throat:sad2:

She is getting very tired of being sick.

Good Evening Ladies

I hope you're all having a good day

I've been busy today, trying to get the house in order before we go away (I always like to come home to a clean house - LOL). All the beds have been changed and the bedding done, and I've started on all the towels now

Tomorrow I'm hoping to get the girls packing started, me and Paul are virtually ready to go :)

Robin - sorry to hear that Liz is still poorly, I hope she's better soon .. and how's Duster now, is she any better ?

I can't believe that next Wednesday evening, me and Paul will be dining at Tutto Italia in Epcot :yay::yay:

Have a good day girls :)

I hear the clock a tickin' Mandy.

Soon be time for you to leave.

Duster is doing much much better, thanks for asking about her.

I'm still giving her medication but that will slowly taper off over the next few weeks. It's a good thing that she takes a pill quite easily.

I like to come home to a clean house too.

It's funny that I don't really care what it looks like when I'm living here on a daily basis but I like to have it clean when I go away :confused3 :rotfl2:

Hi ya everyone!!

Robin, glad to hear Duster is much better! Well wishes to Liz that she gets much better soon! :wizard:

It's funny that we all have that disease of having a clean home to come back to. I do not like coming home from vacation wanting to relax a little bit more and seeing all of the stuff that needs to be done

Mandy, I'm sure you're still up getting things organized for your trip... ah... to be back on the Wonder... what a great thought! Have a bahama mama, or two... heck have 3 for me! Sounds much better!:thumbsup2

Mandy,
Not long now!...:cheer2::banana:
I bet you are getting very excited!!!....:goodvibes

I posted this on the TKers, but thought Id see what you ladies think...:3dglasses
Well Mandy, and Kelly...Robin already answered...Thanks Robin:thumbsup2

"I am Soooo getting excited about my trip...Not so much the plane part of it tho...I never minded the plane trips before, but with all the new stuff that goes with it..Im not so thrilled.
We are going to try to NOT check any bags..Just do carry on....We each have a backpack..and Mike could carry the PC and I can carry the camera..
I know it all sounds good ..until I actually start to pack...then I fear Ill see the error of my ways......

10 days,
a snorkel mask and snorkel, not fins(we will rent them there),
five outfits,( we will do laundry on day five)
surf shoes, a couple bathing suits..
a toothbrush, no toiletries (will get them there),
a hat (the cloth folding kind)
and an extra pair of sandles if I can fit them.
THATS IT!..

So what do you think...Can we do it?"

Robin,
Please pass along to Liz....Mike and my wishes for feeling better soon..
and Im glad the kitty is better too!

Kelly,
The Cruise is far far away right now and chances are it wont even happen but, we might as well leave our deposit with them until we HAVE to get it back or lose it....Ya just never know what the future will bring...I have recently learned...Life has a way of changing often!....

Spending a quiet night with Mike...and NO work tomorrow!:thumbsup2

Hey Girls

Well today is the day .. at last !!! and what a weird 24 hours I've just had. There's nothing like a bit of drama before you go on holiday :rotfl: Last night I had an awful headache, I couldn't look at my laptop screen, as it was too bright, and I felt sick

Convinced I was coming down with swine-flu, I had an early night, and thank goodness I feel a lot better this morning - phew !!!

I've got a busy day today. I've got to finish off the packing, do on-line check-in and get may nails done this morning .. then hopefully we'll be on our way to Manchester airport around tea-time. Then we fly off to Orlando tomorrow morning :)

Kelly - Of course I'll have 3 (or more :rotfl2:) Bahama Mama's for you :rotfl::rotfl: and we'll be thinking of you as the last time we were at the Pop Century, you were there too

Robin - Glad to hear that Duster is doing well

Betsy - Your packing list looks good to me, I'm sure you could easily cope with the amount of stuff your taking, especially as you're planning to do laundry

Anyway girls, I'll sign off for now, see you in just over 2 weeks

Take care

BTW, if you want to know where I am each day, then my itinerary is on my pre-trip report :) http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2194674

Betsy, I like your way of packing!! :thumbsup2 I was watching a show just the other night about traveling tips and there may be two tips that help ya:

1) They said instead of checked baggage, nowadays people are shipping their items ahead of time to the hotel and calling the hotels to make them aware of it and have it ready in their rooms.

2) Wear your bulkiest shoes on the plane and pack your lightest shoes in your carry on. One guy wore his dress shoes, don't know how comfy that is..

Don't know if these help or apply... but I think you'll do well with your list! ;)

Mandy, we will miss ya! We wish we were there... the kids still talk about how wonderful this last trip was hanging out with you guys. :goodvibes Hope you have a wonderful, safe trip!!

Robin, hope everyone is doing well in your area! Got any exciting plans? Carolin is leaving today and won't be back until two Sundays from now. She is heading to Massachussetts with my sis. Tough week ahead for me... :guilty:

Have a wonderful weekend you all! Going to pick up my little princess and give her hugs and try and talk her out of leaving :rotfl: Bye!! :grouphug:

Betsy, are you planning on using small rolling suitcases or just the backpacks?

We always use the small carryon size rolling suitcases and put them in the overhead compartments.

Then I will use a small backpack for other stuff and put it under the seat in front of me.

Remember that it all has to fit either overhead or under the seat.

Mandy, enjoy your trip. We will definitely miss you around here :goodvibes

Kelly, it's hard to let those kids go but once they get out of the house, I find that I really don't miss them all that much:rotfl2:

I hope Carolin enjoys her time away.

I've been thinking about you today Mandy :woohoo:

Hope you had a safe trip.

Hi Robin,
We were planing on using our backpacks. They just make the size requirements.
I thought we could use one of them when we hike too...I have one and the camera bag, and Mike will have one and the laptop...

I'm a little concerned about the fact that our first plane change in Washington, only gives us 42 min. in between...Its all United Airlines though, so I'm hoping they will both be in the same area.

Went to Kolbe's(1) and Rita's(3) birthday party this afternoon...A good time was had by all!

Mandy,
Im sure you are having a GREAT time!:thumbsup2

Kelly,
Hey:wave2:

YEA!!!!:cheer2:...Tomorrows my ONE's Day!:cool1::yay:

Off to bed...:cloud9:

Happy Onesday Betsy.

Better early than never :rotfl:

The only possible problem that I can see with your packing plan is that you then have to physically carry those probably heavy backpacks around airports with you.

I think that gets old real fast but if you are willing to carry the weight around then you should will be okay.

I, myself, am too lazy to do that and use the roller bags ;)

Hey Mandy.

How's it going?

Can't wait to hear all about it and to see your pictures.

Well, here is my exciting news for the week:

My old car (1993 Honda Civic) has developed a gasline leak and we have decided to replace it with a newer car. This is what we picked.

I generally do not like leather seats but have decided to give it a try. I figured that I can always cover the driver's seat for the shorts wearing season if I don't like the leather seats.

Here are the pictures of my new car:

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I'll have to remember that!!

Carolin is texting me everyday and calling me every other day... I can tell she misses us but she is having fun! :goodvibes

Liz has a tendency towards doing that too.

Alex, well, he just left home at the end of May and we hardly ever hear from him at all:sad2:

I find that very surprising because he used to just love to talk about what he was doing at work and most everything but:confused3

He is only 4 hours away and gets blocks of 4 days off at a time but yet he hasn't felt the need to come home to visit.

I guess that is a good thing. Means we've done our job of raising him to be an independent adult.

BUT, it would be nice to hear from him or see him occasionally.

Now I have talked to him once or twice, gotten a very few emails (usually he doesn't answer any that I send to him).

Guess, I'll just have to get used to it:guilty:

Wowwwww.... office got very very busy!! Came back to finish my post and I was timed out.

Robin, I love love love your car!! Very beautiful and that's the color I would have picked! :cloud9:

Funny how different boys and girls are... we are expecting that when Chad leaves we will hardly see him or hear from him. He is already enjoying more freedom from mom and dad now that he is driving. :upsidedow

Betsy... almost a month away! I'm looking forward to seeing your pics already, Hawaii looks so beautiful in the pics and shows I've seen!

It is a lovely car Kelly.

I wanted something with a different colour this time.

Seems I always end up with the crappy colours that I dont' like because that is what they have left on the lot.

This time I actually got some input into the colour and it's great.

We drove a very pretty powder (baby) blue Honda Civic Hybrid that I absolutely loved the colour on too.

I am going to pick up my car on Saturday afternoon :woohoo:

It's going to be a nice change from my gas leaking, smelly, broken airconditioned, cracked windshield, 1993 Honda Civic:rotfl2:

I do still love that Civic but you've gotta change with the times :rotfl:

Hello:wave:

My day off , but Im on my way to town...:teleport:

I hope you all are having a good day..
I bet Mandy is...::yes::

Congrats on the new car Robin...:thumbsup2

Morning Betsy.

Enjoy your day off, although I'm sure that you have tons of things that need to be done.

Mandy, having fun yet:goodvibes

Morning ladies.

It's a beautiful hot muggy day here today, actually it's been that way for quite a few days now and more predicted to follow.

I picked up my new car yesterday.

She's a real beauty. Drives like a dream and best of all, the air conditioner works :lmao:

Hope everyone is having a great day.
