7th January 2007, Dancing Queens Thread CONTINUED

Hi Robin,
I havent done the boxing...I really like the tennis, and the bowling...
The wii fit..it alot of fun too..I like the balance games, and the step..
We also have the dance mat, but I dont do very well with that one...YOU might tho....I bet you would with all your dancing...Its alot of fun ...Julia is a pro at it...
and we got a ski game..just a while ago..I havnet tried it yet, but Mike seemed to like it...
I just bought a sonic game and its OK...but it makes me tense...So I have to play that one in small spirts...

I just got out of the shower..We dont go until 7:30-8ish...but looking out at all the wind and snow we are getting ..I thought a warm shower would be nice... it was...

Well Im going to go see what Mike is watching on TV...

Actually I still have to find my own Wii Fit.

The one I have is borrowed from a friend who is out of the country right now.

She doesn't need it back until the end of January so hopefully I will find one for myself before then.

A dance mat does sound like fun. Maybe I will have to look out for that one.

Didnt get home until after 2PM....Then had a Bday party to go to for my DGS, Mike. He turned 10 NYD....It was fun...
NOW its time to STOP eating all the bad stuff and get back to my lowcal gruel ...LOL

I hear ya on the food Betsy.

I've got to get motivated too.

Yesterday I went to another annual family holiday dinner.

Now it's all done and time to get on with 2009.

This morning Rick (rudely ) woke me up and said he was too sick to go to work and I would need to get up and go in and keep an eye on the guys.

Not what I had planned on doing today, that's for sure.

But that is where I am, trying to make the best of it.

Hi Betsy.

Not such a good day here today.

Well part of it was okay.

Mom and I went to visit Dad and he ate a really good lunch.

He has been getting very skinny lately but I guess that is part of the disease also. They forget to eat or just aren't hungry.

He smiled a few times today and looked just like his "old" self. That was very nice.

Now the not so nice part of it.

My SIL is in the hospital.

She went in yesterday on her 48th birthday. I think she was supposed to get her medications adjusted or something, not sure of the story.

But my brother called late this afternoon and said that things are not good. She has taken a really quick turn for the worse and is not expected to live very much longer

My brother said it was a "matter of time" and I asked him what he meant by that and he said....... it could be minutes or it could be hours

It's so sad but also I am so happy that she managed to have such a nice Christmas.

She ate well, laughed a lot and generally seemed to be having a wonderful time.

Now I can only wish that she does not suffer much.

My brother says that she does not seem to be in pain and is sleeping peacefully and waking occasionally to smile at them.

Life is just sooooo not fair.

Im so sorry...but its good you have a happy memory of her...

An update on my SIL:

I heard that her family was told that they should not bother to go home last night because they would probably have to turn around and come right back.

She was not expected to last until morning.

Well today, she seems a lot better.

She ate something and drank a bit.

Her oldest son took her outside in a wheel chair (cigarette break of course)

I'm thinking if she could sit in a wheelchair she was doing pretty good.

She was apparently talking quite coherently.

So, I'm glad that her family was given another day to enjoy her company and she theirs.

Who knows what tomorrow will bring?

I just reloaded my weather network page and it says that it's 89º F at the Windsor airport, one hour from here.

I think it's time for a real quick road trip

We have all kinds of winter weather today...Lots of ICE...a little snow, and REALLY cold

Hope you are fairing better up there in the north!

Its OK as I don t have any where to go so Im just staying by my fireplace..and watching the little birdies ice skate across the lawn...LOL

We had a crazy weather day too.

It was semi nice this morning and then it started to snow.

Tonight the roads are really icy and slippery.

Lots of cars in ditches and accidents.

I went for food this afternoon but stayed home after that.
