Today so far I've done a lot of nothing

It is my dad's birthday so I think I will go and visit with him for a bit this afternoon.

I have no idea what to bring him, if anything. He can't really have anything in his room because it disappears.

I suppose I could bring him a small box of chocolates and share some with him and then hope he remembers that they are in a drawer in his room

It is going to be very warm here today 84º is predicted with thunderstorms but then it's going down to the 50's tomorrow

I guess I will try to enjoy the warmth while I have it.

I have dance classes tonight. Our last formal classes before the dance recital Next week there will be practices held on the stage to get ready for the actual performance.

Rick came home yesterday from his competition with a third place win this time

Well I was up at 4.45am this morning, as I could make my Palo ressies. I booked Dinner for Monday evening and got Brunch too - woohoo !!

Paul & I have just got back from watching the new Indiana Jones movie, it was OK, but nothing special

Kerry and Becky are off school/college this week, so it'll be nice to have them around (though by next Sunday I'll be glad to send them back )

My visit with my dad was not all that great today.

He seemed really "spacey" today.

Staring off and not really engaging much.

He seemed really tired too.

Normally he walks and walks and walks and you can't get him to sit. Today all he did was sit

Sorry your visit to your dad didn't go too well Robin. Paul's aunt is just the same, sometimes she's with it and sometimes she looks at us as though she isn't sure who we are - it's sad. Unfortunately for her, she never moves around, and she is sitting in her chair all day and won't mix with the other residents

I asked my dad since he was the birthday boy, how old he was now.

He said he was 64 or 66

Actually he's 75 but he's aging himself older than I figured that he would

Morning ladies,
Thank you for the holiday wishes!

Too bad I got sick,.....I was feeling a cold coming on in the morning...but felt alright, and we had plans to go kayaking on the lake, so off we went and had a very nice time...
We even found our missing paddleboat, that had drifted off....Mike towed it home with the kayak
BUT...by the time we got home (around 2PM)...I was feeling pretty bad...when I took my temp...it was 101... ..
So I slept the rest of the day, and had a hard night...I still have a little temp..but am feeling a little better today...
The real bad thing is, I normally go see my mom today. I cant do that....Even if I felt ok to go......Id get everyone sick....I feel bad because I didnt go on Sunday(I normally bring the girls on sundays), because we got the new dance mat for the Wii, and they were having so much fun with it...I figured Id just let that day slide and see her on Tuesday

Anyway,
I am sorry your dad wasnt his self, Robin..
How is Alex?...Did you find anything out yet?....
and has Liz recovered from the dentists work?....
Heres hoping both are doing fine

Mandy enjoy, you time with the girls, and I can totaly see, you pushing them out the door, next Monday...LOL

I also have a note from the other girls( all but Britt. She wasnt here sunday. ) to put into posts, along with some updates....
I will tey to get to it today, if Im feeling up to it later....

Betsy, so sorry that you are feeling unwell and couldn't fully enjoy your holiday weekend.

I'm sure that your mom will understand. Unless she's like my dad and she won't really know for sure if you were there yesterday or a month ago

Alex has being doing okay for the past few days. He is right now at the hospital having an ultrasound done of his abdomen. I hope the gallstones show up and they can do something to stop these nasty attacks.

His schedule is extremely full all summer long though. He won't have hardly a minute to himself to breathe. I suppose that if he needs to get rid of that gall bladder he will have to make the time.

Liz has come thru her wisdom teeth removal quite well actually. It still hurts a bit but she is able to function fairly well with the use of some pain medications.

Well it's yuck, yuck, yuck over here I've got the day to myself today, so I'm going to dash into town between downpours, then I'm going to chill and DIS for the rest of the day

I am still not feeling so great ...No fever anymore, but I now have a major head cold...that is working its way into my chest...
At least I got sick now and not a few weeks from now....My biggest worry is that Mikes going to get it...and it will be when we go... ..
I spent the last part of the night on the couch, so I wouldnt keep him awake with my coughing...
But I took some meds and, Im feeling a little more like I will live
and actually function.... Soooo.....

Im off to try to get some cleaning done...I havent cleaned since the weekend..and seeing it was a long one..the house is quite messy...not to even mention the huge mound of laundry to get done...

I'll also try to update my PTR today...
We added an extra day on the end so we dont have to leave for a big road trip the day after Britts birthday...
Also ..I am very siked that we will be meeting Ann (Hollyann from the TKers thread) for breakfast, the morning we pass by her on the way ...
I'll be sure to get the traditional rocking chair picture, as we will be meeting up at Cracker Barrel
and Ive got to add the posts from the twins and Amber...So I'll be a busy girls today...

Morning Mandy.

Alex had his ultrasound yesterday.

The technician told him the she did not see any gallstones but that his gallbladder has a lot of sludge in it.

That is just as bad as having gallstones and can cause a lot of pain.

She also told him that the walls of his gallbladder looked thickened and inflammed.

She figures that is probably what was causing him the pain.

Of course now we have to wait for a doctor to actually confirm that but those technicians pretty much know what they are seeing.

Betsy, I hope that you feel better soon.

I'm just now losing the cough that I had from when I was sick. That took forever to go away.

Kelly, what's happening? We are missing you here.

Guess what, 4 months from today we will be sailing away on the Disney Wonder

Hi everyone! We made it back from the Outer Banks! It was a nice relaxing weekend! CW came home with us then turned around yesterday and drove to Charlotte, NC for a class! He'll be back Friday!

Mandy, your hair cut is so cute! I love the pics of you guys with the Star Wars gang! The one of Paul & Darth Vader is hilarious!! Please tell the girls hello from me, it looks like you’ve adopted an extra one.

Robin, I feel so bad for your dance teacher about her cute little pug! I’m not sure if I told you guys… but two days before CW & I got home from our cruise, my dog passed away! Her name was Rubbit (she was named before we got her) and she was a faithful, old border collie! I miss her so much!

I’m glad to hear that Liz is making out well with having her wisdom teeth removed! Maybe now that they can tell what’s going on with Alex they can help him with his pain!!

Betsy, that would be neat to have another fish tank inside your bookshelf! I love the sounds of the filter on the tanks… they are so relaxing! Sorry you were sick, hope you are feeling much better! Glad it happened now instead of next month!

Robin - I hope the doctors confirm the diagnosis to Alex soon. It sounds like he'll just need medication rather than an operation now - I hope so, and I hope he's feeling better soon

I have to finish the laundry, then I plan on updating it....later today..If all goes well...

Woohoo !! It's nearly the weekend

What are you up to this weekend ? are you doing anything nice ?

Tomorrow, Paul & I are going to see a Rugby match near London. We're going with some friends, so hopefully we'll stop for a nice meal on the way home

Sunday we'll see Paul's aunt at the home, and the grass is yelling out to be cut
