7th January 2007, 4 Night Wonder Cruise

Good morning fellow cruisers. Not sure how many of you checked the main DCL forum, but one of the posts is a report of a 13 yr old girl who was sexually assaulted on a recent Wonder cruise. I am just sicken by this. We are sailing with MY 13 yr old dd and now I have to show her this report. She needs to know because I can't let her just wander around by herself now. I woke up this morning sooooo excited and now I feel like I have been punched in the stomach. Prayers for peace and healing for the family involved and give our kids a big hug this morning!

Yes you need to be vigilant always, no matter where you are.

Please don't let this spoil your entire vacation.

These incidents can happen anywhere and at anytime, even at magical Disney venues.

It's not very likely that the same thing would happen two weeks in a row.

Okay, now we are leaving tomorrow and I really have to get my stuff together

I've got the washing machine running already

Packing is really no big deal. I can have it done in about an hour if I really want to.

I'm heading to Walmart to pick up those last minute items.... water camera, nightlight for the bathroom... My bedroom looks like a bomb exploded in there!! Clothes and suitcases everywhere!!!!! Leaving before the sunrises tomorrow!! Good luck packing everyone!!

I saw that and printed it out for my DD who is 12. I always worry about so much and now this. Robin is right though.

Plus, I've told DD to always stay with her group and I need to make sure she's with someone always. As someone posted, there is power in numbers.

I've got most of my stuff picked out ready to pack. Haven't started on Rick's though.

I've got a nasty headache today. Actually I've had a headache of some sort everyday for the past week or maybe two

I've got to go into work for a bit this afternoon, finish the laundry (almost done) and a bunch of other stuff that I shouldn't have left till the last minute

Headache is starting to feel a bit better. I had lunch and took some drugs about 1/2 hour ago.

I'll be around tonight and probably in the morning for a bit too.

If I don't see any of you before you leave, see you at the ship.

Oh yeah, I had a member of Rick's family call me this morning and ask for advice about Disney Cruises

They are a retired couple and spend several months of the year at their place in Florida. They are quite interested in trying out a Disney Cruise.

Honestly so far we haven't found a cruise line that in our opinion beats the Disney Cruise Line.

Wow this cruise has been literally years in the planning for some of us and now it is almost here, finally!!

Tomorrow will be a big travelling day for lots of us.

I'm just hoping that I don't need a boat to get to the airport.

I can't believe the amount of rain we've had around here the past month or so.

I hope you all have a great and safe journey down to Port Canaveral, I have just had the pleasure of meeting Betsy & Mike at the Pop Century bar, and they have made me even more excited about the Cruise (if that was at all possible). We are meeting up again tomorrow night in the Rose & Crown for a birthday drink and then it will be the BIG DAY

I hope your headache has gone away! We have the car all packed, just need to pack shampoo and other little stuff... then off we go!

I probably won't check in when I get up... it'll be way to early. So this will be my last post before the cruise! Kinda sad cause the next post will be once I return home (in debt )!

I wish that we were staying at the POP Century tomorrow night but we will probably see everyone at the terminal on Sunday morning.

I'm not sure when we will get there because we have to return the rental car and take a shuttle. We have never done that before so I don't know how much time it will take. Maybe we can leave Orlando a bit earlier to compensate for that.
