7th January 2007, 4 Night Wonder Cruise

Hi! This is my first post on DISboards. My wife, Melody, and I, Bob, will be on the Jan 7 cruise. It will be our first time on DCL. We're from Brightwaters on Long Island in NY. We won't be travelling with our grown children, but one of the daughters and her husband will be meeting us at WDW for a 4 day weekend on the 11th.

Look forward to the cruise and meeting all of you.

I'm new to the thread too! I am excited aobut our Jan 7th cruise. My DH and I will be traveling without our young children.

No offense to any of you, but I really don't think I will be posting fron WDW in Jan before the cruise. Maybe though, Kayla wants to bring a laptop, and mine is much lighter than hers, so it'll probably be mine that goes which means I should be able to use it while we're gone, right? We'll have to wait and see.
I can't believe it's less than 5 months...now the pressure is on to get those passports. I'm not very good under pressure!

Well, I should get around and shower and stuff, I slept til 10:30 today, that never happens, and I've been veggin" since! Sunday is a long day here. Cora has TKD from 2:30-3:30, Randall has weapons from 4:00-5:30, and I have weapons from 5:30-7:00. Only 2 more full weeks til school starts here. and in the meantime, Randall and Kayla both have bdays!

What are you up to today? Randall and I are kinda bored right now. Cora had soccer from 8-9 and vacation bible school from 9-12. My M-I-L went shopping, my mother is working, my father is babysitting my niece and nephew, and my husband had to drive 2 1/2 hrs to pick up some supplies for the store that a costumer needs ASAP!! So we went to his school so he could play on the playground for a little while then came home so I could charge my cell phone. It died when Cora was at soccer!! I think I'm gonna take them to lunch today, and by the time we do that, it'll be time to head to Bangor for Sylvan. The kids do a 3hr class on Mon and Tues this week. This is a busy busy busy week. I may take Randall back to town a little early so he can get those passport pictures done! That's it, I think I will do that! That'll be one kid down, 2 to go, plus adults!

Hey Wendy!!! I'm just sitting around, catching up on work! Wow, you are one busy gal! You definately are gonna need that spa when we get onboard! I thought about asking for a visit as a Christmas present We'll see!

We still have some family members here that haven't gotten theirs. When we have a bday party I noticed they change the subject real quick when we talk about the cruise. I'm not that bad... just excited? I hope I'm not scaring my sisses!

Betsy- Wow, I remember you sayong there was a new baby in the works, I forgot it was this soon!! Rita is a doll. She looks very healthy, like everything went smoothly. And it's nice to see they used an older name. (unlike DU's niece is going to use!) I told my niece the other day, she pregnant, when she said she wanted her baby to named something original, "There's a lot nice names out there that aren't being used much, why not use one of those instead?" I will admit that I considered Spencer for Randall and if he was gonna be a girl, he would have been Carly. Not that Either of those are wierd, but they are trendy!! But SPencer is my mothers maiden name, so I could have gotten away with it. Cora would have been Ethan if she was a boy.

I love those names, especially Carly! That one doesn't get used much! Chad was saying that he didn't like his name, he's the only Chad in school! But I know I named him well, Chad means warrior!

When Carolin heard him say that, she piped up that she didn't like hers either. That is until I told her that alot of princesses are named Carolin. I know I spelled it funny, it was the epidural still in my system.

My kids names are Alex (Alexander) and Elizabeth.

Both very common ordinary names.

But we have a strange last name so we didn't want them to have to spell their first name along with their last name all the time.

OMG> Being the nag I am about the passports, our deadline is this friday (unless we want to pay $60.00 p/p for fast filing)! I counted on the calendar and if DCL is requiring 75 days notice prior sail date, that puts our date around Oct. 24th.

It has been taking our passports 8 weeks (almost to the day) to come back. That would mean this friday is the deadline for my gang due to the weekend (to be on the safe side too)!

I hope I told my shipmates correct info

My DH is going to freak!!! We just bought that new house and haven't sold old one yet...more money right now is not easy....but better to shuck out some now than an extra $60pp later!
