I can answer the kids vs teens question...

We had each age group in our DISparty. 5 & 8, 13, 14, 2 @ 17 and 1 @ 20...

The littlist were easy, they loved the clubs. The age difference put them in seperate clubs tho, if you have little ones that want to be together you have to clear it with the castmembers there.

The 13, 14 and 1 of the 17yo's hung together in the stack the whole trip. They participated in many age specific activities with "really cool councelors" according to my 17yo.

The other 17yo wanted nothing to do with the club. She actually spent alot of time with me. We did the pool and stage shows together.

The amount of and ages of the children on board depend on those who book.

DCL tries to limit & spread out the ages of the cruising children. I've learned that they could hit a "quota" of 5 yo's (as many as the kids club could handle I suppose) and tell people the accommodations are sold out.

The 20 yo SWORE he would HATE the cruise. He had the best time of his life and has about 15 new best friends all over the country ;)

His Mom and I were talking about cruising again and he's already said he's there. :boat:

---yes, I've been lurking...:ssst:

Hi everyone! We are well recovered from the trip to Hawaii but now have a month of weddings to go to!

We are happy to host the party in our room. We look forward to meeting everyone and when you throw in drink and food it just gets better. I believe someone asked my earlier post where I talked about shipping out items before the cruise. Disney seems to allow you to send a care package and then have it delivered to the room on the first night. We are picky people about wine and champagne so we intend to ship a case or two prior to the cruise.

We have never done a four night so we are looking forward to that extra day at sea. We have managed to book two cruises on the new Med itinerary so we hope to meet some of you on this cruise and then see you again later that year.

We are sad that our friends can't make it on this cruise. Pam is a teacher and it will be the first week back at school for them. Maybe on another cruise! It does leave room to bring other friends so we will find someone to take along.

Will check back on the thread later this week!

dave and monica- glad to hear you guys made it back from Hawaii safely.
I, too, will be sending a few things ahead to the ship. My son is on a high fiber, high calorie diet and he's a bit picky at times. He also has some medical supplies that take up alot of room so I'll send some of those ahead too. I am excited about seeing your room. Did you book the suite for the med cruise too? ;)

Betsy- I think it was you who mentioned this, if not,oh well, whoever did, will read it too. We booked the land and sea package. I know I way overpayed but I felt it was worth it because now everything is taken care of. If I had to do it all seperately, the resort, the cruise, the flights, the transfers, and dealing with the luggage, I would be so stressed!! Even during vacation I would worry about what I should have done differently. Now, it's done, and if anything goes wrong, I didn't do it!! :lmao:

Princess Jasmine (PJ)-We bought the insurance. The price I was quoted included it and I figured why not! I think Kelly is right about being able to purchase it if you think you want to now.
Also, our travel party consists of myself(3?....wait,i have to do the math...33...but I have a b-day next month) my DH(42 currently), DD (17 currently), DS(8 currently), DD (5 currently) but we all have b-day's before the cruise! :woohoo:

Robin- how was the dinner and comedy thing, sounded pretty interesting. We went out to a terrific mexican resturaunt. I had a few margaritas....love those things, and DH enjoyed the Coronas. Oh, the food was good too! :rotfl2: We somehow managed a night with NO kids, doesn't happen often but when it does, we take advantage with a night out! :cloud9:

Kelly- :wave2: Hey girl!!

Wow, that's really interesting!

I find it really amusing that everyone refers to me as Princess Jasmine. The first time I read it I literally laughed out loud! My "real" name is Lauren, but I can get used to being called Princess Jasmine... :teeth:

I have been reading about excursions a lot this weekend. Even though this cruise is months and months away I am already thinking about what I want to do. I thought Atlantis in Nassau sounds interesting and also the banana boats at Castaway Cay. Anyone else know what excursions they might do?

I am adding a count down to my signature!

I did the banana boat at cc

It's very tame, ours was anyway. We rode out past the ship turned around and came back. They tell you the trick to not flying off is to lean in not out. I think my crew did that *too* well. Nobody flew off ...

it was a nice ride for the money and if you have a water camera you'll get great shots of the island, the ocean and the ship.

~hth~c.

Hey Wendy, the comedy night was okay. The comedians were good but the restaurant had not been totally closed to other customers. The bar area had some people in it and they were making an awful lot of noise. It was very distracting to those of us trying to listen to the comedians. I know they were asked to keep it down several times but the noise level would always come back up again. If they ever do it again they will be wise to close the area to all except those holding dinner/comedy tickets.

The one comedian has been in movies like Lemony Snickets, Fun With Dick and Jane and something else the name of which escapes me at the moment :confused3

Well, hello Lauren. Do you want us to call you Lauren or do you prefer Princess Jasmine :)

Princess Jasmine-Kelly is thinking about doing the banana boats. I wanted to do them with my son but he is not a swimmer, and they do list restrictions. Anyway, check with Kelly, the last time I knew she was trying to get some people to do the banana boats with her. It sounds like fun! :thumbsup2
We haven't decided about Nassau yet. DH and I have been there and walked through the resort, if it was just us we would stay on the ship, but with the kids? and my M-I-L? I'm not sure what we'll do.

Princess Jasmine...I was called Tigg my entire cruise!

But that's how they know me right?

There are dolphins in Nassau...or something "sea world" like, isn't there?

Is that where Atlantis is?

I like the sightseeing idea...that's what we did in St Thomas and St Maarten, wandered. Those places are a little scary tho, we didn't stay on the islands long. With the exception of CC, we spent most of our time on the ship. CC was awesome, soooo much to do and see.

Colleen,
The dolphins in Nassau, is actually on another island...If its the same Ex that they have for RCCL(I think it is)..The name of the island is something like "Blue Lagoon??"I think..We really liked it ..and thought we might go again...but the cost is a LOT more then it use to be....

So I think we will just hang out at the Atlantis and maybe do some gambling.....We didnt care for the strawmarket at all...So we wont go there...

We also thought about just getting a cab to show us the other parts of the Island...away from the tourist traps..We will see :confused3

:cheer2: I can't believe that in a few days time we will have reached our 9 month mark - woohoo !! :cheer2:

Sounds like what we plan on doing too.

I like your idea of a cab ride to actually see what the island is like. If you want some extra passengers to help fill your taxi let me know, we might be interested in going along. Safety in numbers you know. ;)

Wow!! There are lots and lots of new people! I've been looking up some stuff about the cruise tonight, and i've mostly seen teen clubs, and things for younger children, i've seen in a few places that the age limit for the club are 18. (Which will be my ages at the time of sail) :confused3 so, i'm just wondering about that, if anyone knows.

:cool1: I'm not MIA.. Hehe I've been so busy with school, work and what not, and when i get home, I'm jut ready to lay down.. Seems like all I've done in the past few weeks is sleep.

Graduation is 69 days away :) After I finish that count down, I'm going to start one on how many days till the start of college. THEN i'll start one on how many days until the cruise!! ;)

Good Night Everyone! I'm off to bed :cloud9: ! I hope everyone is doing well.

Our 18-20 somethings gathered in the sports bar, they were allowed in there...

They did alot of karaoke and hung out in the adult areas like the cove cafe, the adults only pool and serenity bay.

You can fill your time with tours and stage shows. Whatever floats your boat really, there's something for EVERYONE!

You mean you don't plan on hanging out the entire time w/ dad, nanny, lil bro, lil sis and the evil step-mother? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Just kidding, it's your vacation too, whatever you think you might want to do, I'll try to talk you father into saying it's okay!! :thumbsup2

Hi All

I might be a bit scarce between now and Easter....got company till then!!

BN1955 (Dave/Monica), we are not picky about our drink (beer usually), :rotfl2: but we don't like to pay and arm and leg for it so can we ship some in advance??? :thumbsup2

PJ08 (Lauren) Welcome. Glad to meet new people on the cruise. I am going with my sisters and one DH (not mine). SWHNN and Hollyann (Mary and Ann) are my two sisters.

By the way, I shorten everyones name....hope you don't mind :confused3 . I kindof like the PJ thing too!!!

I haven't planned any shore excursions...should we?

I might have to talk with DSis' and see if we want to book a stay at WDW after the cruise. Although we go often!!! (Been 6X this year!!) :cheer2:

Chat later :grouphug:

I just found out that i can get my hair done on the ship.. i can hardly wait. :sunny: :goodvibes :bride:
