7th January 2007, 4 Night Wonder Cruise

Good morning everyone.

Alex has been returned to the airport and is on his way back to his northern home. It was nice to have him home for a few days.

Today I'm looking for a decently priced hotel room in the Orlando area for the night before our Sovereign of the Seas Cruise.

Being in March everything is quite expensive.

So I'll have to make it my search for today. It's so hard to pick something off the internet when you can't see it. Of course it's only for one night, so it's not that critical.

Anybody have any suggestions?

I hope you're all having a great weekend, we've spent most of the weekend checking out dates for our next trip and I'm hopeful that we'll book something this week (LOL - famous last words)

Kelly - It would be so cool to run into you and your family if July is our final date, we're now looking around the 13th July

Betsy - Glad you enjoyed the party, I think a Summer trip would be good for you too, it would be nice to celebrate a couple of birthdays and your anniversary

Robin - Glad you had a good time with Alex, sorry I can't really help with hotels, we've only stayed at the Holiday Inn Nikki Bird (not too good) and the Travelodge Maingate East on the 192 which was OK, the rest of our trips have been on-site. Have fun with your planning

I booked us a room at the La Quinta Inn about 5 minutes from the airport.


We don't get in until about 7:30 pm and will want to leave first thing in the morning for the port, so basically all we will be doing is sleeping there.

I dont really think I'll be able to talk DH into going again until we go in Sept...
Its just too far and to costly......

My DBGF..will be going for her work..(a convention)in Nov...She has never been and wants me to go with her....BUT we will have just gone in Sept...and I KNOW DH wouldnt be able to get off...and I dont think I'd be able to go again so soon with all the commitments I have at home.. .BUT Im not giving that one up just yet.. .I'd just LOVE to show her, all the fun Ive been telling her about for so many years....

I NEED that dream team to give me a few free trips and make it ALL possible

No matter when you ALL decide to go, I,ll send along P&P for a fun filled trip!

Looks like were in for it now!...
I KNEW we'd get slammed sooner or later this winter...

As the storm system pulls farther north on Wednesday, so too do the bands of heavier snowfall. While areas along the New England coastline will likely see a mix of rain, sleet and snow, locations farther inland will be under the gun for heavy snowfall. Encompassing much of Pennsylvania, New York and New England, the steady snows show no signs of letting up until the coastal storm moves farther into the Atlantic on Thursday.

Just small flurries here today too.

Tomorrow there is a chance for more snow and blizzard like conditions.

Maybe a good thing Alex went home earlier than he had originally planned.

We had a couple of bad snow days last week where Nuneaton came to a complete standstill and the girls had a day off school on Thursday. It makes me laugh how us Brits are useless when snow does eventually fall. So I hope you don't get too much bad weather

It takes a fair amount of snow to stop things around here.

The only problem I personally have is that the two cross streets by me fill up with drifting snow because they are basically on an open field. The snow blows right across and ends up all in the intersection. Usually once we can get out on the main road we are okay.

I heard that we can expect around 8 inches of snow in total.

As long as all is quiet on March 8 when I want to travel, I don't mind the weather now.

I wish I had been smart enough to use my camera to take a bit of video. I never even thought about it. I could have taped some karaoke singing and dancing queen dancing

I have checked once for a thread for my cruise but never noticed one. I'll have to check it out again soon.

It's starting to snow a bit here. So maybe they are right and the storm is on it's way.

Wish We could both go on our birthdays...as a matter of fact if we COULD go at that time ...Id be able to not only celebrate my Birthday with you (mine is on the 25th just five days(give or take a few years )after yours), But Mike and I could celebrate our 34th anniversary too..its the day before your birthday(19th)

Hi guys!!!

Robin, when booking hotels, I always check them out on tripadvisor.com CW are suppose to leave next Tuesday for a 5 hr. trip to do our Foster parent training. We were going tonite, but the weather caused us to reschedule for next week.

Mandy, it's the same here! We stop dead in our tracks even with a light dusting on the ground. I'm scared to drive in it... I've been fearful of driving in snow ever since I put the car in the ditch. I had to get out and walk down the road to find help. I was crying and falling (hard) on my butt! Thank the Lord for the cushioning in the back It's funny looking back on that day now!

Well... enjoy your snow you all! None for us yet! That's ok... bring on the spring weather

Aww poor Kelly, falling on your backside padding in the snow.

We are used to a certain amount of snow around here but it really doesn't snow all that much. At least not what most people think it should do for Canada

Until tonight, we've only had a small amount of snow here all winter.

I have snow tires on my car which helps an awful lot with the driving in the snowy, slippery stuff.

After awhile you really do adjust to driving in the snow.

July is a great time to go IMO...The hot temp. doesnt bother me at all....and everything is open late, with ALOT more "little extras" going on.
The only draw back is, it sometimes can be crowded,...but it was the most crowded I have ever seen it , when we went in Jan...Soo I dont think you can predict the crowd well anymore...
No matter when Im sure youll have a blast...Like always....Hey Its DISNEY....Right?

Well Its been snowing here since early last night....We must have at least a foot and its still going strong....As a matter of fact its snowing so hard here right now I can hardly seee my pond right in front of my house....
I'll go take some pictures and post them later....

By the way....Mike gave me choc.(of course) and a very nice smelling candle( I love candles)..cherrie ...(YUM)

I dont drive in the snow anymore either...I smashed up a 3/4 ton truck...
I found out that snow tires mean NOTHING on icy roads....and lost control and smashed into another car coming (way too fast IMO) the other way.....I was only going 30..or less..DIDNT matter...both the truck and the car were totaled...No one was hurt badly THANK GOD....The dash ended up in my lap and I had to fight to get to the passenger door...But I got myself out and by then people were there to help....I remember just sitting there crying in the snow.....I was told later that there were MANY crashes happening all over town, But That did it for me...when it snows I stay home... ...
