I have an 8:05 am ADR for BOG and am planning on eating and then heading over to 7DMT and riding that instead of getting a FP for it. Will that work? With a 9am opening time? If I do this what time do we need to be done eating and in line at 7DMT? 8:45?

We got out at 820 in May and were the second people on the ride. We were held by the rock wall until the opening show was almost over. We were on and off and watched the rope drop mob coming towards us. Lol. At 845 you will be behind a number of people that finished quicker than you, but you will *probably* still make it on one of the first few trains. I say probably only because anything could happen...they could change the procedure, the ride could be down, etc.

Or if it's an EMM, reports say that CMs seem to "release" the BOG crowd a bit later.

It’s not an EMM day so that won’t be an issue. I’m trying to make sure I don’t have to FP it if I do this... the other option is FP and then rebook it if we don’t need it.

Keep an eye on the park hours too. They could always make it an 8:00 opening.

Last summer we planned the same - 8:00 BOG PPO with the hope of riding 7DMT right at 9:00 (before the rush of people). BUT the ride was down (for most of the morning). The CM gave us all the option of waiting in line with the hopes of it reopening. We decided to head to PP instead.

We like this ride so I always FP it as well.

The earlier the better but don't forget to enjoy yourself. You'll still be ahead of those at rope drop if you're out before then. You could also fastpass it as well if you're concerned about some of the other things people have mentioned previously. Then change your fastpass to something else if you don't want to ride again.

If you pre-order your food, your chances will increase that you'll be done eating earlier.

Thanks! Since we don’t go often I’ll FP it as well, if we can ride it first thing then I can swap the FP for something else and if we can’t for some reason then I’ll have the FP as well. Thanks for the help and we will definitely preorder our food. With DD6 and DS1 it may be close to actually finish and be in line in time anyway... but it will be nice to be in the park early and eat at BOG regardless!

Done this with success numerous times. All PPO ressies will be seated on a first come, first served basis. So get there early, and pre-order your food. You should be done eating, and in line with plenty of time to beat the mass rush for the other people.
