7D Mine Train FastPass+ Glitch?

The family and I will be going to WDW next week and as part of planning ahead I began choosing FP+ attractions right at our 60-day mark, May 26th. However, when I did so there was no option to choose the 7D Mine Train as an attraction, so I assumed that, at least for now, that ride would not be included in FP+ and I chose other attractions.

Wow, was I wrong! I now see people proudly announcing that they got their FP+ for it so I checked and behold, it is now an option - except there are none left for the week+ we will be there.:worried:

I realize now that May 26th was 2 days before the ride opened. Could that have been the reason it didn't show even though my trip doesn't start until July 25th? If so, how could they make such a big oops?:confused3

Has anyone else run into this problem?

Now I'm reading horror stories about the wait times and feeling sick.:(

The odds of getting one now are very slim. Just go to the park late, we went Saturday and the wait was 40 minutes, which is not a fast pass, but at least you can get on it. It is so hot right now, many of those waiting had umbrellas. If you are there during a EMH late hours you should not have a problem getting on it. We were there 3 evenings and the longest wait we saw was 50 minutes.

Perhaps it was either unavailable or before they started offering FP+ for the ride??? (Just a guess)

Regardless, keeping checking back. I've been able to book them by regularly re-checking availability. Example: I was able to book one for later today this morning.

It wasn't available at that time. They made it available on opening day and had something like 50k requests (which caused app issues that were later resolved) within the first few hours.

Get in line 5 minutes before closing we did it several time in June. The line stated 60-85 minute wait but it was actually 25-30. If your in line by closing you get to ride. :)

They didn't release FP+ until the acutal opening day of the ride. We went the last part of May and the first part of June and when the FP+s for 7DMT were available I had to go in and change a bunch of thing around to get them. Like PP have said go first thing at rope drop or late at night. We rode with FP+ twice and stand by twice. The stand by wait times showed 65 minutes but the actual wait times were closer to 30-35 minutes. It is easily doable if you watch the wait times on one of the apps and go when the waits are 60 minutes or less. If the line is not out of the entrance we didn't find the wait too bad. There are some interactive things to do in the queue and once you are in the gate it is mostly covered. Good luck and have fun. P.S. We thought the ride was better at night anyway.

I have been checking and will continue to do so. Thanks for giving me hope. I hope it's like getting a hard to get ADR and checking back often gets rewarded.:thumbsup2

With a 6yo and 3yo and late closing hours during the summer I think our best bet is the morning, but I've always hated trying to get to a popular attraction first thing at rope drop, even before we had kids. It's almost like Black Friday.

WDW Guest Experience Services called me today after I e-mailed them yesterday stating I thought the starting of the FP+ for that attraction was handled poorly. They agreed to give me "a priority entrance for two attractions, including the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, during [my] next visit to [the] Theme Parks." IMO it's good they made this right.:)

Nice! Glad they did that for you.

Glad you had a positive outcome to this OP!

Although now I'm confused and questioning my memory! We just got back from a trip July 5-13th. I made our FP+ reservations at the 60 day mark (so beginning of May) and was able to select 7DMT. I remember waking up very early that morning to make sure I could get those fastpasses. How weird that it wasn't available as an option to you several weeks later.

That is weird since other posters and the Disney CSR I spoke to said that FP+ for 7D Mine Train started on May 28th. Odd...:confused3
