I keep forgetting that Strange World was something Disney made. It looked insanely boring (plot wise and character design wise).
I put it on when I was on a long flight and I just couldn't get into it. To be fair, I was super tired at that point, but nothing I saw made me want to give it another go later.

It's one of those that starts really slow but it picks ups.

I think people just didn't end up liking Shia's character as much as they thought.
That and Shia LaBeouf went a bit insane.
I agree with that. He wasn't very good in the role and the movie didn't do very well in the box office.
It made $790 million dollars worldwide in a time before billion dollar MCU movies, Star Wars movies, and Avatar.

It's actually pretty good! I mean, if you like movies like Atlantis: The Lost Empire it compares well. It's absolutely niche though - I knew that the moment I heard what it was about.
Uh.....I didn't like Atantis either so if it's similar to that movie then it's probably not my thing.

That actually might be how I watch Strange World lol I'll save it for the 14 hour flight I'll be taking next year.

Oh, man, I love Atlantis! I watched it this past weekend.

Yeah some of these comments in here are crazy lol. Talking about her heading off on her next adventure at the end of the film...she left to get ice cream with the kids so that Indy could get some time alone with Marion lol. If getting ice cream is an adventure, then call me Jacques Cousteau.
And even if she does become the new Indy, who cares??? Harrison Ford has been Indiana Jones for five movies over FORTY years. He turned 81 years old yesterday. It's not like they're throwing him out to pasture before his time.

I don't think a bit insane is accurate, I think certifiably nuts is more accurate for him. However, truthfully many actors / stars are pretty nuts! Indy 5 and Kathleene Kennedy would kill for a $790 Million haul right now. Jim Carey is a brilliant comedian / actor, but has to be clinically near to insanity.

I mean it did ok, but was not well liked by many original Indy fans. I mean compared to Indy 5 or the Disneyfied version of Indy it may be considered incredible in the box office though!

Sorta like The Rise of Skywalker, made solid box office money, but not well liked by a pretty large percentage of fans. That movie is literally credited with "splitting the Star Wars fan base".

We enjoyed it, it was visually beautiful and an easy watch. Did I expect it to hit big? No. Agree, small market.

Wait so now she is the future of the franchise? I thought she was just some simple side character that us "man babies" were way overreacting about?

Don't worry, my sister gives me grief for not being a fan of that movie too. I'm more of a Emperors New Groove person in terms of movies that came out during that time.

I like my stinkers also. My kids watched the heck out of Treasure Planet, so I started liking it by default.

That movie bombed hard in the box office.

I like The Emperor's New Groove okay, but it's not one that I am really into. I am very fascinated with that era of animation where there was a lot of mix between hand-drawn charactes with computer-animated backgorunds: Atlantis, Treasure Planet, Titan A.E., Sinbad - I have a soft spot for them even when they're not that good.

EDIT: That is to say, most of those are VERY good - Treasure Planet is a little weak, but it's so beautiful I can forgive that.

But it doesn't have anything to do with how well a characters story was handled. You can say that you don't think Din received enough development, etc. but that does not mean that he was not the lead.

In the recent Gallery: Mando season 3 D+ episode Rick Famuyiwa (one of the directors) mentioned that the 'Mandalorian' show title for season three has shifted to mean there were 2 main protagonists ... both Din Djarin and Bo Katan

I'm always defending Brad Bird's Tomorrowland film. Thankfully I have a bluray copy as I don't even think they have it on D+ in the US

Tomorrowland was on Disney+ in the US. I have watched it on there. It looks like it is gone now as it's one of those movies with "pre-existing contracts" to be shown elsewhere for a time, though I can't find where. I think it's a great movie, even an important one. It's unfortunate that it wasn't more popular.

Ooops, that don't fit the narrative on here, so it will be quickly disregarded.

Look, we're just arguing semantics here - I don't know why it's so important. Yes, it's fair to say that Bo Katan had a major role in season 3 of The Mandalorian. You might refer to her as a "lead," a "supporting lead," or even "supporting." It's not that well defined. To me, she didn't steal Din's thunder so I don't really see it as an issue. Even if the producer says she's a "main protagonist" that doesn't mean that she is or is not a lead. Sure, both of them got a lot of screen time, but it's telling to me that the final shot is of Din & Grogu.

Here's an explanation:

What's concerning to me is how you seem to have a problem if a female character gets even the slightest amount of credit over the male character. You don't complain if another man upstages the lead. How dare a female supporting character not be completely outclassed at every turn by the main hero, right?

you picked this fight, not me dude. You told me I was making it up about Bo Katan. Just take the L.

I do fear that Disney's agenda is getting in the way of their good storytelling. I have been very clear about this, it is a big concern of mine because I don't think that is what the buying public wants. They want good stories first and foremost. If you happen to tell a great story with diverse and female centric stories......I think that is fine. However, when you focus on agenda first, people recoil from that mess.

I didn't say you were "making it up" - I just think you're misinterpreting it. It is not something that is that well defined, but I've given my reasons on why I think Bo is still a supporting character, though a very major one. But even supposing that you are right and Bo is the lead of the show - why does that matter? Why is it so terrible?
