75 employees laid off at Pixar, including the director of Lightyear

No, I disagree. Helena Shaw is no more thne lead in Dial of Destiny than Mutt Williams is the lead of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Why don't you complain about that. Oh, right, Shia LeBeouf is a man.
Maybe because that is a 15 year old movie and made well before Disney was even considering buying Lucasfilms. Where is Mutt now though just to prove a further point? What did Disney think they needed to do with Indy's son?

You can't convince me that anyone who thinks Helena Shaw is the lead in Dial of Destiny actually watched the film.
Maybe not The Lead, but certainly A Lead and very essential part of the story. Who saves the day in the end? Without the knockout punch what is strongly suggested that would have happened?

Regarding PIXAR, just saw a preview at theater for next year's ELIO ... 😴

... perhaps PIXAR has run it's course. It no longer has it's special touch, creativeness. Why have a whole studio doing what Disney Studios can produce?

That trailer gave off massive Mars needs Moms vibes. Didn't make me interested in seeing it at all but maybe it's another case of Disney putting out awful trailers for their films.

Yeah some of these comments in here are crazy lol. Talking about her heading off on her next adventure at the end of the film...she left to get ice cream with the kids so that Indy could get some time alone with Marion lol. If getting ice cream is an adventure, then call me Jacques Cousteau.

Media literacy is dead. This is why reading comprehension is important in school.
How many of the thousands of novels in my current collection would you like to borrow? Pick an author or a genre and I likely have most of the series in hardcover. Many signed first editions as well, but I don't loan those out.

I average about 3-4 books a month right now, so I have slowed down a good bit in recent years. During Covid I was like a book every few days. Just finished rereading the complete works of Edgar Allen Poe......what a freak he was!

Pixar did Lightyear, then Disney did Strange World, Pixar now doing Elio ... 3 years in a row of space movies. Add in feelings, periods, periodic table ... I feel like they've lost interest in their craft.

Well when you watch something with your pre-existing bias against it or a character in it, it's easy to see what you want to see.

Strange World wasn't a space movie. They never actually leave their planet. They go down into the depths of their planet. Disney's marketing was awful in relaying this.

Thank you!

Who fights Nazi's along the top of a speeding train?
Who rides a horse through the NYC subway?
Who tracks down the stolen artifact at the auction?
Who fixes the busted engine with chewing gum?
Who figures out that the tablet thing is hiding something inside?
Who finds the tomb entrance?
Who gets to get with "the girl" at the end and on whom does the film iris out on?

I keep forgetting that Strange World was something Disney made. It looked insanely boring (plot wise and character design wise).

It's actually pretty good! I mean, if you like movies like Atlantis: The Lost Empire it compares well. It's absolutely niche though - I knew that the moment I heard what it was about.
