I just booked room 7120, cat 7 room for my husbands parents. Is it correct that this room actually has an open verandah, just partially obstructed?

I can't answer your question, but I wanted to say that my husband and I have a neighboring cabin (on a different cruise probably) but I'd like to know if our cabin is partially obstructed too. Our cabin number is 7126. Thanks for any info that can be given!

O.K. 7126 isn't one of the partially obstructed staterooms, it's an enclosed navigators veranda. There are 4 staterooms that were reclassified from category 5 and 6's to category 7's due to the curve of ths ship interferring with the view from the verandas. Go to Dave's website and you'll understand.

Thanks for answering my question so quickly guys! I really want to try the enclosed verandah so I am happy with my cabin choice. This is such a wonderful board. I just know I'll be so well informed by the time my cruise comes around next year that hubby will be as equally impressed with my cruise expertise as he is with my knowledge of Disneyworld and DVC (of course I learn just about everything from these boards but that's our little secret :teeth: ).

hey we just had 7620 and had no problem at all , feel it is a great alturnative to those who want a verandah but also want to save a couple of bucks... cat 7 we liked it....

We booked 7120 for the Sept 20, 2003 Magic cruise. Cat 7, partially obstructed open verandah. We are happy with the price.

How many do the partially-obstructed verandas sleep? (All of the other Cat. 7s seem to only sleep 3).

We just came back from the Dec. 14 cruise and had 7620. It was a wonderful room and I wouldn't have even considered the view as "obstructed". It was great because of the way the top of the verandah curved it gave some protection from the wind. We had some windy days on our cruise and pulled the chairs over to that side of the verandah and could not even feel the wind. We loved the room and location so much that we booked it again for our next cruise. I will post some pictures when I get around to my trip report. Oh yes... it did only sleep 3.

We just changed our cabin to 7612. I'm used to mid-ship...could you feel a lot being that far Aft?!

Hi,
I didn't notice any differnce being in an aft stateroom compared to our forward room on our first cruise. That being said, Thursday we had really rough seas and the ship was swaying no matter where you were...especially in the Walt Disney Theatre that day...whoa...glad I had taken Bonamine!!
