70th bday album

i'm working (trying) to put together an album for my dad's 70th bday. I hav until the 22nd and I have done nothing yet! ACK I do have each grandchild writing him a letter and adding pictures There are a 11 grandkids but I need a few other ideas. I wanted to do a page of what it was like 70 years ago. The price of things etc,,,,

Please share any idea

Oh, I like doing historical pages/books! Here a few websites I have used to find such info. Also, one of my lss sells an 8 1/2" x11" paper of each year.

How about researching on-line a newspaper that was around from his hometown on the day he was born. I've seen these before although I can't be too much more help on the subject.

Do you have baby pics of him? I'd surely do a page of him with pics as young as you have. Maybe a generation pic page. You know, one of his dad, him and your brother (if you have one) all about the same ages.

Cool sites Judith!

Besides some historical stuff and t hings from grandkids be sure to leave pages for the celebration itself. You could present those with mats, etc to add photos & cards for a "quick" finish. Or do it all after.

Not sure if there is going to be a party but one thing I did for my son's Eagle Court of Honor, and could be used here, is rather than a guest book I provided pieces of card stock for guests to sign, share a memory, etc. THen I put these in the book with their photo. I had a friend set to do all the photography and went over who to get in particular ahead of time. You may want to think about that as well - let's you enjoy the event more!

or his hobbies, sports he liked etc. Also, contact more than the grandkids, how about buddies, neighbors, cousins....anyone who knows him. Get letters from them, along with any kind of pictures. It will fill up very fast. I included a letter my great aunt had written my brother in his 40th bday album. She has been gone for along time, and the letter was very special to him. You can do it! I did one in a week, just have to really focus and be persistant about getting those notes.

Thank you so much!! Hoping someone kicks me in the butt soon and gets me started. I have yelled and yelled at my nieces and nephew to get there projects to me and now I gotta get to it.
