My husband and I are camping at the Fort in February and have requested the 700 loop. I remember camping there several yeas ago and our site backed up to lots of trees and a dog walk? Am I correct? If so, what are the site numbers?Any recommendations? We have a 38 foot class A.

The 700 loop at the bottom of the loop backs up to the 800 loop and there is a dog walk there by the old railroad tracks. You can see on google earth .

Nancy,

wagner is correct. You're probably thinking of the part of the loop that is next to 800 loop where the old FW Railroad bed runs between them. That area is pretty cleared out now and you can still see the old wooden ties in the ground. There is a walkway from the 700 road between some sites to get back to the area if your site doesn't back up to it.

You want a 700-loop site with a low number. Something like the range 701 to about 710. Some of those back up to the pet walk area, some are across the road. All can easily access that area (and even the higher numbers) but the low numbers are the area it sounds like you want.

We were in site 701 the first of December. Old RR tracks were just behind the campsite and I believe that a couple of sites down from us was the sign for the dog walk. :cheer2:

Are the higher or the lower numbers nearer to Pioneer Hall, etc. :confused3

tink,

701 is the first site and it is on the end nearest the Meadow Trading Post.

734 is the last site and it is on the end nearest Trails End/Pioneer Hall.

The petwalk area that Nancy had asked about was up by the low number end.
