7 parks in 5 days with 4 kids – A survival story!

The kids are darling in the coordinating outfits! Don't tell them I said that because they would probably think that was super uncool!

I love the merry go round pictures and the ice cream all over Noah's shirt! He must have enjoyed his! What a mom to make sure he had all you guys would want! It is amazing the technology and what not that there is now a days. To think a diet stops seizures is just amazing! So thankful that someone figured that out.

I love your DH with Mickey! If you'll didn't notice he is taller then them on his knees! I bet he is pretty tall for some rides! I am super proud of you for riding the rollercoaster!

And I just love Elmo! I have a Sesame Street obsession and have never seen them at Sea World. I love to go in the off season! My plan to hit Sesame Place has never really worked out either!

Love the TR and the Pics :-) Those outfits are adorable and The splash pad and pool at GKTW is AWESOME :-)

What a wonderful trip report! I'm so glad that Noah is doing so well! Best wishes to your family. I can't wait to read more of your amazing trip report!! popcorn::

Oh is Abby going to be your thrill seeker, or do we have to wait for more on that? What a wonderful day at Sea World you all had.

Oh Beth!!!!

I am LOVING this TR!!! PLEASE keep it coming!!!!

The pictures are amazing....and the kids look absolutely adorable!!!!!!!!!

Joining in! You have a beautiful family - and it is amazing how well the diet worked for your son! What a miracle!

:lovestruc

What a great start to your trip report! Thanks so much for sharing!!

Lynn

Hi Everybody!
Thanks so much for all of your kind comments!! :lovestruc

Working on uploading pics for the remainder of day 2. Court and I are wading through the 1000+ pics of day 3 and on....so we're getting there!!!

I have a feeling I'll be way ahead on the text, versus the pics!!!

Thanks for being with us on this journey!!!

Blessings,

So excited to read your report! Fun to see everything that we will be seeing in person in about a month!

AWESOME job on the TR!!! The pics are fantastic!! I am so glad you posted such great pics of the pool area at GKTW...we have been wondering what the pool area was like.

The kids look great in their Seaworld outfits. Dave and I were just talking yesterday about adding Seaworld into our agenda after all. Looks like fun!! Can't wait to read more!!

On the way home from Seaworld, Ella took a little siesta so she was refueled and ready to head to the pool. When we got home we found a cool photo album and a GKTW duffel bag left from the gift fairies! We would put the duffel to use before the night was out!

Brian and my mom headed up with the kids, while Court helped me get organized back at the villa. I knew that there was usually cookie decorating, so I had made keto gingerbread cookies for Noah, with keto frosting and even a little decoration (a few specks of sugar free jello powder). I was proud of myself, since I thought ahead and made something for Noah but you’ll see later that there was something more fun for him!!

We ended up bringing a change of clothes up to the kids at the pool and then heading off to dinner. In retrospect, I think it would’ve been pretty funny to be in bathing suits for Christmas – it was certainly warm enough!! We had a few minutes of extra time, so we decided to head into the castle. The kids each had a certificate to make their own pillow --- which they thought was cool. It's a machine where each kid gets to make a choice on pillow type, then plays the chicken dance while it makes their pillow!

Then it was time to make Noah’s star. For those of you who are new to GKTW, each wish child is given a star to decorate, write his/her name on, etc. Noah decided to color his BLACK!!

Disneypics-Beth082.jpg

The stars are put in the star fairy box and it magically disappears, while the star fairy appears at several different screens on the wall.

Disneypics-Beth083.jpg

The fairy eventually places your star on the ceiling of the castle of miracles. The next day you get directions to find out where your star is and can go see it, up on the wall. Just looking at all the beautiful stars on the ceiling was just another inspiring facet about this beautiful place. To see them all in person, you can't help but be moved by them.

Then the kids discovered the La Ti Da spa, which is open every night, and is a place where the kids can get makeup, nails and body tattoos. The girls got their nails done while the boys got tattoos – for Noah, a skull and crossbones – oh, boy.

The dinner at the Gingerbread house that night was a homestyle Christmas dinner with ALL the fixins! Brian was in heaven!! Mrs. Claus was there – as was Mayor Clayton.

noahmayor.jpg

As soon as we came out from dinner, we noticed some more characters getting ready for fun!

Disneypics-Beth090.jpg

Disneypics-Beth086.jpg

We headed towards where the big guy himself was supposed to be and got in line, which was long by now since we were late to the party! While we were in line, there were folks there decorating sugar cookies – yum! Although I had prepared this for Noah, he was more interested in the snow cone machine! So he got a plain ice cone, then we decorated it with some sprinkles of sugar free jello powder…it was quite festive and quite yummy!

Disneypics-Beth093.jpg

Just a few minutes after getting in line, we noticed commotion and lo and behold, a Christmas parade was heading our way! The parade ended in the circle where we were and we had a great time mingling with all the characters! It was so much fun!

I think we got distracted about Santa, but after the hubbub died down, we resumed our quest to meet dear old St. Nick. After waiting in line to see him, we get up there and Ella gets freaked out and wants nothing to do with him – I was afraid she was going to fall off the stage she was backing up so fast!

This leads to another magical moment in this trip. Santa paid no attention to the long line of kids waiting and would not just take a pic of the three kids and move on. Instead he stopped everything to work some magic. He had some sort of contraption that lit up his finger and then flicked it above to “put stars” in the sky for each of the kids. He had each kid flick their own star and by the time it got to Ella’s she was creeping closer to do him……
Disneypics-Beth106.jpg

next thing you know she is laughing with Santa…..

Disneypics-Beth107.jpg

and finally…… sitting right next to him!!

Santa143.jpg

AMAZING!! Afterwards she didn’t want to leave him!! SANTA ROCKS!!!! I’m not going to show you the pic with the four kids because it is sooooo sweet it’s going to be our Christmas picture this year and I don’t want to spoil the surprise! But I will show you the fun that Nanni and Auntie had with Santa!!! Nobody is too old for Santa!

Santa145.jpg

Afterwards the kids have a choice of presents – Noah chose a transformer, Abby a furreal pet kitten, Ella a potato head and John an electronic hangman game. How cool!

We were pretty beat by now so we waited at “Ol Elmer” (the snoring tree) for the shuttle to come pick us up.

Disneypics-Beth116.jpg

We loved Ol Elmer – he snores all day long and literally every time we walk by, Noah remarks that he must have buggers up his nose! (anybody around us would get a chuckle from that one!)

Disneypics-Beth114.jpg

It is way after 9:30pm by the time we get back to our villa. The kids agree that it is “Christmas Eve” so they really shouldn’t open their gifts until tomorrow morning! Phew! That saves us probably an hour on bedtime!!! This day was so amazing, so magical, and so much fun that we really didn’t want it to end. But we succumbed to sleep (after Brian ordered another pizza!) and waited for it to start all over again tomorrow.

Next up: A Marathon day at 2 Disney parks with the ride breakers and several mistakes made!

Wow! First of all...you are FAST! Great start!!

I LOVE the picture of your DH catching your hat on the Manta Roller Coaster. :) And that looks like a BLAST! I may have to go back to Sea World at some point to ride that!

The pool at GKTW looks AMAZING!

Great job! Keep it coming.

I linked you on the wish trippers thread, too. :)

Wow thank goodness your hubby caught your hat! You are brave woman on Manta! That's a cool pic being able to pick out your legs lol.

Great pics!!

Thanks, Maroo! I'm a BIG time procrastinator, so I've got to get moving while it's fresh!!

Christmas seems like it would be so much fun at the village! Love their pillows.

It was soo much fun and I'm just amazed at how much effort and excitement goes into it....and they do it every single week! It was ABSOLUTELY amazing. And Santa just made it all so wonderful!

Wow thank goodness your hubby caught your hat! You are brave woman on Manta! That's a cool pic being able to pick out your legs lol.

Great pics!!

Brave...or crazy! We got to thank Courtney for that and her cool camera! She stood there and took shots of each of the mantas that came by....then we were able to find ours!

I'm in for the ride! It's fun reading someone who went right after we did!

Amber, I feel the same way about reading yours!! :lovestruc

Working on text for the next one !!

Excuse the interruption in your trip report (which, by the way is a great report), but I want to apologize for not being at the carousel last week. Tim (another volunteer) told me today that you had come by looking for me. I wasn't there, as I was sick. I had a low grade fever, and although I was antibiotics and feeling much better, didn't want to take a chance on infecting any of the kids. Perhaps we can meet when you do a "Welcome back" visit.

Katie

All caught up and ready for more! I love the matching Sea World outfits and how sweet was that Santa! The more I read about GKTW the more it amazes me!

It’s Friday AM and we’re feeling confident we can attempt TWO Disney parks in one day…..anybody see where this is going?

Brian and the kids had already headed over to the Castle to see what Universal character came to the Village this AM!

Barney25.jpg

In case anybody was wondering, Barney looks pretty big until.....Daddy shows up!

Barney28.jpg

Although only Ella was super excited about meeting him, they all thought the purple dino was pretty cool after he rode the carousel!!! We missed riding with him, but of course Noah and Ella had to have a go round.....

carosel.jpg

We have breakfast in the Gingerbread house again, with MISTAKE #1 made early – we allowed John to have WAY too much SUGAR for breakfast. We’ll pay for that later!!

We head off about 10am to our first Disney park…..

Disneypics-Beth136.jpg

We actually had been to AK 2 years ago, as a day trip while visiting friends in Tampa. While downloading my mom's pics, it was still on her camera! Here's the pic of last time....
Momsphotosdisney004.jpg

And this time.....

AK-front.jpg

We met up with Rafiki and Timon first off, grabbed stroller and headed straight ahead to the Tree of Life

tree.jpg

First stop: “It’s a Bug’s Life”!

Disneypics-Beth117.jpg

allkidsbugslife.jpg

It’s a cool 4-D show that we had front row seats too – not so cool during the scary parts, but it was so fun to see Noah and Ella reaching out to touch the cupcake that was “right in front of them”!!!

We did the show with our friends from college who were at AK that day too! They had been the early birds this day, so they were pretty much done with the park when we were arriving, but it was fun to see them and spend a few minutes catching up!

Disneypics-Beth120.jpg

Next up we made our way to the Safari in Africa. The animals were all out (minus the Lions) and it was a fun ride for all.

noahsafari.jpg

Disneypics-Beth129.jpg

On the way to Kali River Rapids, Noah took a moment to play some drums…..

noahdrums.jpg

Then further up we bumped into our old friend Flik….

AK-Flik.jpg

AK-Flik2.jpg

Then stopped for a quick picture...

AK-BB2.jpg

It was also around now that Noah became infatuated with taking pictures. I will post all of his pics later (some are quite good!), but you might see one from time to time……

(ok, photopass is not cooperating...I'll add it later!)

Kali River Rapids is a fun river raft ride where you get SOAKED! We all got our own boat, secured cameras and all who wanted to got their ponchos on…..then the fun began. Brian videotaped the whole ride and it really was fun until all of a sudden we were about to do the big plunge when we stopped dead in our tracks! A fake tree branch was holding our boat back and the boats started piling up behind us --- 1, 2, 3, ….6 rafts were now behind us. An announcement came on that we should sit tight and the ride would begin at any moment. We laughed for a while, then wondered if we’d ever make it back…..then just as we were beginning to doubt we’d ever get going, FREEFALL!!!!!

Totally fun ride for all, unless you don’t like to get wet. We headed on, thinking that our “broken ride” experience was over!!! Ha!

Next up was Everest and the only kid who dared go….Abby!

everest.jpg

She, Courtney, Brian and I did the first ride and she loved it so much that she wanted to go again!! She also bought a little "Yeti" to show her brothers how "not scary" it was!

Brian and Court met up with my mom in Dinoland. I had suggested to my mom to head over there, thinking the kids would like the tamer “dumbolike” or “teacuplike” rides, but they never made it out of the carnival games! John won a big stuffed shark though, so that made him happy, which was a good thing because he was finally coming down off his sugar high from breakfast! Since John also wanted to ride the Time machine Twirl (or something like that --- the spinning roller coaster ride) and only he and Abby were tall enough, it was Auntie Courtney and Mommy who were the lucky ones this time. Fortunately this was before LUNCH!

Disneypics-Beth134.jpg

By this time we were all hot and hungry. We found a place to each at the entrance to dinoland, but other than my mandarin chicken salad, nothing was really worthy of note. HOWEVER we made a crucial mistake at lunch and that was not having Noah eat his hot dog meal here. Prior to us leaving, we had calculated out how much of a Disney hot dog Noah could eat, along with the chips, mayo/ranch, and a special ketchup. This was helpful since it’s not convenient to heat up meals at the Disney parks. So on these long park days I would pack one cold meal, and the fixings so he could order a hot dog and measure it on our portable scale. There were hotdogs available at this dino place, but we had him eat his cold meal and we figured it would be totally easy to get a hotdog at Epcot……HUGE, GIGANTIC, TYRANOSAURUS-sized mistake on our part.
But, no worries, we will survive!!!!

We bumped into some friends on our way towards the front of the park……

AK-Tiggerandbri.jpg

Then we figured it was time to get moving. We had aimed at hitting the Nemo show, but we also wanted to get over to Epcot before it got too late.

Next up: at EPCOT…. Mistakes and frustrations galore, but a bright ending!

Hurray! I'm writing about Animal Kingdom this week too, how fun to compare experiences. You're DH is sooo tall! I'm not sure you noticed that mine is not, lol...we're both 5'5", and our teen agers tower over us. On more than one occasion my DH has been mistaken as one of my kids :lmao: good for him, me not so much. I'm totally envying your AK day...you'll see why...and now I want to go back. I can't wait to read more. You are so much more on top of it than I am.
