7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise July 25 - August 1, 2009

I am trying to look over excursion info too. We seem to be running into alot that are not good for my 7 year old. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Happy Cruise Year. It seems so much closer now that it is 2009. Our whole family was together for Christmas and the cruise was the hot topic of conversation. Can't wait.

Sue :)

I was just reading about fish extenders around this site. Have any of you ever done that, or is anyone interested? I'm not even sure where to get one (I CANNOT sew).
Thoughts?

No, we're not runners: a walk around the track is more our stuff...
But what's the Princess 1/2 Marathon? :confused3

I would like to say that I will be up for that. I usually start running sometime around May and run 2-4 miles every morning by summer. I plan to start even earlier this year because I'm getting married before the cruise. Like I said, I'd like to THINK I'd want to continue to run on the cruise but it's my honeymoon and I just can't commit to that! I might end up eating myself sick, staying up late and not wanting to get up and run. Maybe if I know the time and place, I'll just meet up with you guys if I feel up for it!

EDIT:

And when I say "run" I mean jog.

This is the inagural edition of the Disney's Princess 1/2 Marathon, is going on the first weekend in March, is a new race Disney is offering besides the others they have during the year, this forum has a thread for this event, we are call the WISH group and we may be the largest group of women running this event. Pretty cool ah!

It sure will!! we are not planning to do more than 1/2 an hour every time, that is what my hubby and I did the last time, the thing is otherwise I fell "guilty" for eating so much without any kind of exercise, closer to the date lets talk about a plan I will love it if you join us!!!

That's great! congratulations in your wedding and in your running, I am sure those "blush cheeks" after a nice morning jog are going to look very atractive to your brand new hubby, as a matter of fact mine :firefight always brag with his friends about my running!!!!

It looks like we'll be joining you all! :cool1: Our party will consist of me ->(DH::MickeyMo ), (DW::MinnieMo ), (DS-14pirate: ), (DS-11pirate: )<- 1 month shy of 12 when we cruise end July.
Plus I believe some friends from the UK will be coming along as well, however they haven't booked just yet.

We were booked to do b to b's over X-Mas / New Years, but due to work commitments think we'll have to drop them plans. :sad1:

The good news is that we'll get to cruise 6x months earlier! :thumbsup2

I booked a couple of weeks ago and managed to grab 5520 & 5522. (we would prefer 5522 & 5524 since they connect)
I don't suppose one of you fellow Diser's have 5524 by any chance, and would be willing to swap? :confused3 :rolleyes1

me (27) and my fiance (29) are going to be taking the 7 day western cruise this july 25. we're so excited, we've never sailed disney before so we don't really know what to expect. judging from what we've read though it sounds like its gonna be great. any suggestions on excursions? how formal are the formal dinners? i can't think of any other questions right now but we appreciate all the advice we can get.:surfweb: :worship:

Wooo Hooo!! I got a packet in the mail today from DCL with a letter telling me it's time to get ready (like I haven't been getting ready for a year already) and all the info about excursions, etc. I didn't know this was something that came a few months out!! Got me very excited! I'm going to go look through it right now.

The DW ::MinnieMo is excited! We got our packets yesterday as well. I'm not sure what shore excursions we're going to do this time. Last time we did the Western, we missed the Cayman's. We had planned on just hitting seven mile beach. I'll have to see what the masses want to try this time.

In Cozumel, we did the jeep excursion. I highly recommend this one. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 It has a bit of everything in it. We had a convoy of jeeps, and drove from the west side over to the east side of the islands, and then turned south and drove along the coast line. You go into a nature reserve where you see crocodiles, and the oldest lighthouse known. You continue on to the beach, where you are served lunch, and had a bit of time to do some snorkeling. The youngest DS and I did manage to get a bit of snorkeling in, before loading up and heading to El Cedral the oldest Mayan settlement. We really should do the Tulum ruins on one of these cruises, but that excursion is an all day affair, and I would hate to spend valuable relaxation time on a ferry / bus ride to / from the ruins.

On Castaway Cay, we just like to chill and hang out.

silly_ole_bear You must go to Serenity Bay (the adult beach)! It is so peaceful and quiet. The DW & I did a cruise last November without the 2x DS's pirate: pirate: and we hung out at Serenity Bay for the entire day.:cloud9:

Just think, the end of next month, we'll be able to do the ressie rush! :cool1:

We are going for our honeymoon! It's likely they will seat couples together. Maybe you will be our tablemates!
