I love that picture of you!!

Aw the Dapper Dans! I have yet to see them at MK :sad2: Do you know around what time you saw them? I need to find them one day and see if I can beg them to sing "Baby On Board" ;)

Something you want to tell us??!??!?!

They are usually out in the morning...very frequently, just hang out on Main St for half an hour or so. Best chance is sometime before noon.

Oh goodness no! I didn't even really realize what I typed  Now that you mention it though, that would be a super cute way to tell your significant other you are knocked up :rotfl:

My boyfriend and I learned from the commentary on the Simpson's episode where Homer was in a barber shop quartet that the Dapper Dans provided the singing voices. Also, according to the commentary, if you ask them to sing "Baby On Board" or "Coney Island Baby" they will sing it. I'm not so sure how true it is, but hey it couldn't hurt to ask!

Preface:
For as long as I can remember I have been captivated by the magic of Disney....
Walt Disney World was more than I ever expected. It was full of magic and made me feel like I was home. After that trip I worked for the Walt Disney World for about 5 years in many different capacities. Everyone I know, thinks I am crazy and can’t imagine what you could do at Disney for an entire week. For me it has always been that Walt Disney World evoked a certain emotion. Don’t get me wrong, I love the rides and parades, but it was an overall experience that kept me coming back.

Until this trip….
Just wondering why you left Disney? Two of the Divas were former CMs on the College Program...one was intent on working for Disney for life but said the pay stunk!
Very well written! Can't wait to read more! :goodvibes
Toy Storia Mania...all I can say is WOW.
We LOVED TSM too! Fast Passed it twice! :woohoo:

I could not believe how HOT it was getting. I knew it would be warm but this was hotter than I ever imagined. We decided it was time for lunch and went to Yak and Yeti counter service. It was good but hot food on a hot day was NOT what we needed.
I agree it was HOT but we are from Texas...I skipped lots of CS meals and snacks because eating was the last thing I wanted to do in the heat (I made up for it @our TS meals! )

Lunch at Mama Melroses, with the exception of my dessert was great. It's my moms favorite restaurant so she was delighted to be there.
We ate here for the first time this trip...we were pleasantly surprised! Our server was great, she brought us each a little glass of champagne to toast the Birthday Diva! :cutie:

Haha you got me really excited!!

The Dapper Dans they are talking about in the commentary is more than likely the ORIGINAL Dapper Dans...meaning those in Disneyland. I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure. BUT, "my" Dapper Dans are the coolest:love:

I did 2 CP's then was trying to finish school, so I recruited and worked at TDS while I did that. Unfortunately I was dumb not to stay and instead got married and moved to Virginia. I wish I had stayed because it is SUPER hard to get in from the outside for any worthwhie paying jobs!!

Thanks!!

Hello there neighbor!

I recognized your picture of the old monorail clock immediately! ;) I was just there taking off on 9/10 for my week long mother/daughter trip to Disney (but my daughter is only 4). I am contemplating writing my own trip report, and will be reading through yours. I hope your time was as magical as ours was!!

It really is a "Small World"!!

haha ohhh no, I'm good on the baby front :faint:

Ahhh, I'm sure you are probably right, but hey, I can dream? My boyfriend and I are huge Simpsons fans, so it would have been awesome to hear them sing a song from that episode.

Ok, enough pirate: Back to your awesome TR!

I'm here! I couldn't figure out why your pre-trip thread was never bumping back up in my subscriptions. I decided to click on it today and discovered this great new thread of yours....

I'm sorry that this trip was losing some of the magic for you. Which hotel were you guys staying at?

Hey neighbor. :wave2: It is a pity about midtown closing - lots of great memories. Love your TR. We're heading down in a couple of months for the Christmas festiviites and it will be our first time during this time of year.

It must have been a great experience to work at Disney - something I've always dreamed of... :lovestruc

We were at WDW during and right after TS Fay and it was unbelievably, intolerably hot once the storm passed thru. We spent the time from 2-4pm every day just looking for an a/c place to sit and drink cold things. Yes, we had our own water bottles, but the mid-day heat was just too much. We needed to be inside, in the a/c. We have never experienced this before, even though we've been to WDW twice in June...but never in late August! IF we'd known how unmanagable the heat was going to be, I would have planned things differently and gone back to the hotel mid-day for a rest and swim. Unfortunately that wasn't going to happen- we didn't have park hoppers this trip, and free dining started and made moving TS ADRs impossible. So I hear you when you talk about how hot it was!!!

Lol something happened and I think I unsubscribed from my own TR!! I was wondering why no one had posted lately:confused: but duh...it was just me. So sorry for the late responses:flower3:

I was SO excited to see the clock at the airport before it gets moved to Galisano's. People in the airport were laughing at me when I was taking pictures.:rotfl:

:lmao: :lmao: My mom's face just kills me!

Ok so where was I?? Day 4!

This day was to be our free day. We decided the night before we would return to AK for 2 reasons:

#1 We still hadn't seen FOTLK and that is my mom's FAVORITE!!

#2 It was supposed to rain...our Safari driver earlier in the week said if we ever get the chance to ride in the rain to do it...all the animals come out.

So we made some last minute ADR's at Boma for 10:30...it was kinda nice to sleep in although I didn't really :rotfl: My body has this stupid internal alarm clock:rolleyes:

We arrived at AKL a little after 10 so we could explore...unfortunately this didn't take long. The store sold the SAME crap that you find everywhere on property and there were NO animals outside:rotfl: So we headed downstairs to breakfast.

The meal was fantastic...our server was not. Just another example of CM's who DON'T care:mad: And he was from Orlando...what happened to actually placing CM's at locations they are from? Do they only do that at EPCOT anymore:confused3

After breakfast we thought we would just take the bus to AK...it would be a closer walk and we didn't plan on staying too long...Well we waited...and waited...and waited before we gave up and took our rental car over to AK. The park wasn't too busy yet and we didn't end up with a parking spot TOO far.

We had just missed the next FOTLK so we thought we would wander a bit. Mom had been contemplating getting an airbrushed tattoo all week. Well now was as good a time as any!!

It was very cute and lasted her for 2 more days. Probably would have lasted longer if she got oen WITHOUT glitter:lmao:

It was time for a smoke break...and some drinks!! It was unbearably hot at this point. We stopped at the Dawa bar and got a Corona (mom) and I got a Lost on the Safari....

That is when it started raining...you can't tell from this picture but boy was it coming down.

We were in no hurry so we just hung out. It wasn't going to stop completely, so once it lightened up a bit we headed over to the Safari. We WALKED right on!!

Let me just say, boy was our earlier guide right! Except for the fact that we saw NO lions, this was one of the BEST safari's I had been on (oh except the one where the baby Giraffe almost hit our Jeep!)

.

I wish I had pics but unfortunately at this point I was running out of memory on my camera:scared1: We got very up close and personal to some beautiful white rhinos though.

We rode a second time right in a row. I was trying to find the fast passes we got earlier when a CM came up to me and said not to bother...the posted wait of 20 minutes wasn't accurate and we would probably walk right on.

Right.

Almost THIRTY minutes later we rode again. It was wonderful again and by the time we were done it was not only time to see FOTLK but the rain had let up.

We were actually a bit late arriving but still made it before the show started. The show was awesome as usual. I have some video but haven't uploaded it yet.

I have no pics from the rest of the day so I will make it short.

We went back to the hotel, napped and got read for our ADR at Wolfgang Puck at 7 p.m.

We left the hotel with some sprinkles...:scared:

By the time we got to DTD...it was POURING. Harder than I can even express. Buckets upon Buckets...the parking lot was starting to "flood".

Guess who didn't bring umbrellas...or ponchos?

At about 6:59 the rain paused...We threw off our shoes and RAN as fast as we could for WP!! We had a wonderful dinner and I got to see a funnel cloud.:scared1:

After dinner the rain didn't start gain so we met up with some Diser's at Jellyrolls.

Luckily the incriminating photos of me dancing on stage have not surfaced yet :surfweb:

Just found your report. It is great

I laughed when I read about your Cinderella beta tape, my uncle bought me that as well! I remember watching it so much that I wore the tape out. :rotfl:

It is horrible that you ran into such bad customer service on the trip. :guilty:

There are some things that make up for it...but I was astounding how often we ran into it. In past years it would be an occassional occurance, now it seems to be the norm:guilty:
