Okay. This has been the thing I've had the most difficulty understanding since I began planning this trip. Formal nights-semi formal nights-dress expectations, etc. I have the outfits planned: beaded shirt and long black skirt for me/tux for DH PLUS nice silk pantsuit for me and jacket/tie for DH.

The thing I still don't understand is this:

I originally thought that there were two formal nights: Sunday and Thursday. Then I read that one of those isn't really "formal," but semi-formal.

1. Which night is the "formal" one?
2. Which night is the "semi-formal" one?
3. Are there people dressed "formally" on the semi-formal night too?

Thanks!

Hi Dodie!

Sunday is the formal night, Thursday is now semi-formal. LOTS more people are dressed formally on Sunday, and I saw almost no tuxes on men on Thursday...and quite honestly, about 1/3 of the diners were in casual attire that night. You can certainly wear formal attire both nights if you want but you will see much less formal attire on Thursday night. :)

Thank you so much for your response, Michelle. It seems such a waste to haul formal wear and a tux onto the ship for just one night - but I understand that a lot of people wouldn't enjoy that type of thing.
