7 months at Christmas

I would like to know if my plan is feasable. I will have a total of 5 adults and 3 children. I have a 2 bdrm at BC for 12/19-12/24. I would like to do either of the following:
1) add 2 bdrm at AK for 12/24-12/26 or
2) change ressie 12/19-12/21 to AK, keep 12/21-12/24 at BC, then add 2 value rms at BLt for 12/24-12/26

I have 302 pts to work with and need to wait for 7 month window to add more days.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

I think getting value rms at BLT 12/24-12/26 at the 7 month window will be very challenging....

I agree. Getting those AKV villas will be very hard at 7 months out, and that would be just for one of those. Getting two is going to be extremely difficult.

If you have 5 adults and 3 kids you will need more than a 2 bedroom villa. That's not alot of room.

At any rate, if you have to wait until the 7 month window, you will be at the mercy of whatever choice is still available, and finding what you want for the 24-26 is going to nearly impossible, not matter WHAT type of room it is.

At 7 mos many people are moving so you will probably be able to get the 2br at AKV as long as you aren't picky about location or view. AKV is the 3rd largest resort behind SSR and OKW. The BLT standards will be much more difficult because there are very few of them. A lakeview is more likely because they make up the majority of BLT rooms. If they don't have what you need, just waitlist. Something will come up.

Call as soon as they open on the exact day at 7 months, I think you will find something you want. Even though you are trying to get Christmas Eve and Christmas day, the fact both are weekend nights will help you.

I will tell you we were down this year for the decorations and the BCV's decorations were some of the most beautiful we saw, completely blew the VWL away and BWV too.

We are hoping to do the same thing at the 7 month window. We have 8 of us going in Dec. and currently have ressies at the THV but would like to change to a 2 bdrm at AKV because it is less pts. Even if we have to do a split stay we would be happy.

Clarification for the BLT rooms, I am looking at 2 value studios, mainly for the convenience of being close to MK. We have always done MK on 12/24 and 12/25.
I currently have 127 pts left after 1st ressie. After reading all the responses, I'm thinking of adding 2 bdrm at BC on 12/24 and 1 studio at BC on 12/25. I would need to pay cash for 1 night for 4 of us on 12/25. Atleast I'll have rooms for the whole trip then try changing at 7 month window. Would this be better than holding my 127 pts for the 7 month window?

Yes!! at least you will be guaranteed a room and if you are able to make changes at 7 months you can.

Thanks everyone for the quick responses. I extended my 2 bdrm for the 24th and added the studio for the 25th. I agree with Disneypubgal, atleast I'll have a place to stay.

We have tried at exactly 7 months to change from OKW toALV for the last 2 xmas weeks(12/27-1/01/) and have not been successful with a waitlist. I think the fact that NYE has been included in my time may have been an issue. We just made 2010 OKW reservations for12/26-12/31 today and may try again to stay at AKV, maybe we will be successful becasue we are not staying NYE..we shall see.....just wanted to let you know my experiences with xmas 7 month switch.

I also was unable to switch to AKV 2 BR at the 7 month 9am mark this past year so making those back up reservations was definitely a good idea. I was waitlisted but it never came through. I also was looking for the week after Christmas which I think is harder also.
