7 month window...question??

I know this sounds a bit crazy , but if my check in date is November 22nd and check out is November 29th. When does my 7 month booking window begin?? We have reservations for SSR (home resort), but I would like to try some of the other resorts... Thanks for the advise.

If you want to do what some refer to as a "day-by-day" reservation, the earliest you can call is April 23rd. That would be 7 months in advance of the first night of your stay. Then you could continue calling daily until April 30th when you could book the final night.

The risk you run when doing a day-by-day reservation at 7 months is that you will get midway thru the trip and find there is nothing available. For instance, you may be successful in getting a room for the nights of the 22nd and 23rd, only to find that there is nothing for the 24th. In this situation you could waitlist for the missing nights, but there is no guarantee of success.

The other alternative is to call on April 30th, which is the first day you could book the entire stay at once. The disadvantage there is that others will have gotten the jump on you--all DVC members could begin booking some of your dates as early as the 23rd so you're waiting a week into the game to start booking.

All of that said, getting something outside of your Home resort for the period between Thanksgiving and New Year's is getting increasingly difficult. You may be better off waiting until a lower demand period to try booking elsewhere.

I thought you could book 7 months from the day you check out or in this case the 29th of Arpil????
Or is it the 30th, please explain.

Yes, it would be April 29 that you would be able to call and book your entire trip.
