7 month window for booking December & January -- what resort is likely available?

Once I pass ROFR (fingers crossed) I will likely make a 2 week reservation at my home resort (BCV). I would like to replace at least 5 nights (Mon-Thurs) at one of the other DVC properties.

I will need a two-bedroom (at any resort except HH) or an OKW grand villa and plan to travel the first two weeks of December, or the first two weeks of January (both are Adventure Season).

I don't know what to expect regarding availability at the 7 month window for these dates and room sizes, or how busy the parks are -- but what's been your experience?

As for the following properties... can you comment on:
OKW grand villa -- is it a possibility at the 7 month mark?
Are SSR or AKV impossible to book because they're so new?
Is BWV or WLV difficult to get because of the small number of units?
As for Vero Beach -- is early December or January good for Vero, or would you take a pass and stay on-site?

I hope you are not talking about this December/January as you are already within 3 months and availability is very limited already. In addition, you won't be able to make a reservation until passing ROFR, closing, deed recording and entry into the DVC computer system - which could still take another 6 weeks depending on when the offer was submitted for ROFR.

If you are interested in December,2008/January,2009 any of your scenarios is possible, although the OKW GV may be difficult for December - more possible for January. You might even want to try to find an OKW owner willing to make that reservation for you at 11 months in exchange for a similar value at BCV 11 months ahead.

I'm not sure about December/January, but I was able to book a week at VWL in a studio for February, and I booked it just a couple of weeks ago.

Not a possibility in December, maybe in January if you are very, very lucky (and it's not Marathon time), but unlikely

Are SSR or AKV impossible to book because they're so new?
SSR most possible because of size. AKL less probable because of newness AND not many rooms open yet. Again, December unlikely for AKL, January a better bet.

Is BWV or WLV difficult to get because of the small number of units?

Yes. Particularly in December.

As for Vero Beach -- is early December or January good for Vero, or would you take a pass and stay on-site?

Depends on whether you want to visit WDW. It's definitely too far to drive. I've never tried Vero in winter, so maybe someone else can jump in.
