7 month success with a BW view room!

Today was my 7 month window for our August trip and I was able to switch my first two nights from a 2 bedroom SV at BLT to a 2 bedroom BW view room at BWV!

I am excited to try this again with this view. We stayed in 2009 and I liked the resort okay, but hoping that with a BW view room, I will like it a lot more.

I didn't think I would get them, especially since I didn't get to call until noon. But, I was really impatient on Saturday and called for the heck of it and asked them to check for 4 nights that included the ones I wanted. I figured if they were already gone, then I didn't have to waste time calling today but could just send an email to MS to put me on the wait list.

I was surprised when they said they still had some and just hoped they would still be there today. And one was!!!

So, can any give me tips on what I could request?

I am so happy for you! We don't go for BW view, we go for standard view point savings, so I can't give you any tips on what to ask for. However, Congratulations!

Can't tell you what to request, but may your 2 BR switch lead to 2 BR good luck for me (except I'm hoping for LV at BLT). Hoping to call about noon EST too. At this point, it's the best I can do. Last week I was on hold 4 or 5 minutes before I even got to talk to someone. I'm a teacher. I can't be out of class that long.

I'm so excited you got something. I honestly did not think you would--though I had my fingers crossed. Does it make you think it might not be as crowded?

All the August threads I'm on have people coming and going before OR after my dates, but very few are spanning the same weekend. And it's a changeover time for discounts. We went the same weekend last year. FD started on Sunday. By Tuesday things felt crowded, but Saturday and Monday were decent (went to the beach on Sunday).

I am a teacher too and as I was on hold changing the rooms, I had about 10 minutes before I had to pick the class up from Art.

One thing that was different today that has never happened, is that they told me that they could put the BW view room on hold while they canceled out the BLT nights to book BWV. I had asked if there was a chance I could lose both as I knew once I gave up SV at BLT, it would be impossible to get back.

The CM just said "Oh no, I have the BW view room on hold so no one can get it". That was a first for me. Maybe a new perk of the system change!

And, I hope that my canceling the SV 2 bedroom made someone's wait list come through! When I booked them at 10 months, it was the last SV 2 bedroom lock off for those dates.

Congrats! We always book BW view. Just a wonderful feeling looking over the water with that morning cup if coffee!! Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Congrats...we the boardwalk view...all villas have a great view of the boardwalk etc....as far as what to ask for depends on your party...would you rather be close to the elevators...on the same floor as the lobby etc

Congrats. We were able to switch at the 7 month mark for a standard view 1 bedroom at BW for 11 nights in June.

upper floors have the best views.
requesting near elevators is helpful, especially versus going up in the stairwells when you're on the 4th or 5th floors.

make sure your camera is charged, and you bring an extra memory card and battery - that view is soooo amazing we find it difficult to book anything (or anywhere) else

Thanks! I think I will request upper floor, near elevators. We stayed in a garden view room in 2009 and we were all the way at the end of one of the halls (well, there was two rooms left).

So, being near the elevators would be nice, but I think I would rather be higher so if only one request can be granted, I hope listing upper floor first will give me the best shot!

The girls are really excited and I think I will be too. We loved doing the BCV/BLT stay last year and I have a feeling I am going to love having the BW view room/BLT split this year.

I am hoping that it is going to be so great that I can share that info with DH so that he will consider adding on points there next year so that we can always book a few nights every summer with BWV points to ensure we get that view. Plus, we would then have them for Food and Wine visits that we hope to start in 2013 on a yearly basis!!!

Congratulations on getting a BW view! We had a BV view on our first stay at BWV. We were in the Crest 'O the Wave area and I think we were on the 4th floor.

One morning I heard some commotion outside so went out on the balcony. Going by our room was the Cinderella carriage being pulled by white horses with the driver and footman dressed in white with powder wigs. I watched it make its way around the boardwalk to the wedding pavilion. I was so surprised at seeing it, I forgot to go get my camera Wow, someone had a nice wedding.
