7 month reservation for Christmas

Well- my sister just emailed me and thought it would be a great idea for our family to spend Christmas in Orlando. (I agreed since I have everyone to my house every year...and I can say that Christmas is usually pretty stressful!)

She has a timeshare with Marriott. We would need a studio or one bedroom. My home resort is BCV which I heard on the boards is already full. I know I can waitlist but if I do not get it how hard would it be to get into OKW for Christmas??

Anyone get a room at the 7 month window??

I have not had a problem getting OKW at even less than 7 months out, but I will confess that for the past 3 years that we have gone for xmas week, I called at 11 months. I called this year at exactly 11 months from check out for 12/28/08-1/02/09 because it includes NYE. Of all the resorts, I think OKW would be the most likely..no guarantee. I would make try to make the reservation and get on a wailing list.

I am going to try tomorrow and waitlist at BCV. My problem is that I have to borrow points and my use year is February. If I change my mind....I will have to plan a quick trip so I thought about waiting until the 7 month mark.

I think between BCV waitlist and booking OKW at 7 months out you may get OKW or SSR quicker just because of the amount of rooms at those resorts as compared to BCV. If I'm not mistaken BCV and WLV have the least amount of rooms while OKW and SSR have the most. Go ahead and waitlist BCV but don't be surprised if you get a studio at OKW at exactly 7 months out. My sister did something similar and decided to go for Passover this year(April 19-26) in mid January 2008. I had availability at both SSR and OKW so I am booked at SSR and I am waitlisted for AKL, BW, BCV and WLV. If any of those comes through I'll be happy - then again I was just happy to get a room when I called. Good Luck and hope you have a very Disney Christmas !!!
