Only trouble we've ever had was trying to get a GV at OKW a 7 months during F&W. (Silly us, I know!) We decided to go with a studio and 2 bedroom instead, and they had that available without waitlisting.

I've only made one reservation past the seven month window - BWV for March, made the reservation in October. My husband made it, I have no idea what was open as for resorts, but no Standard Views or BW Views were available. They did get a preferred view without a waitlist - it was over a weekend (Thur, Fri, Sat nights), which are supposed to be easier to book.

He didn't waitlist so I don't know if that would have come through or not.

Otherwise, I've always called checkout day eleven months, and have always gotten what I wanted - Standard Views or Boardwalk Views during F&W.

One of the things that is worth noting - our travel schedule (early October) is based on Minnesota schools having a few days off. When we bought, Food and Wine started after our travel weekend and we didn't have to call right away - early October was still easy to book. Now F&W has been moved back and I feel like I need to call right away (still don't bother with day to day) if I want a standard view (snagged the last one without a waitlist last trip) - and can't delay to much if I want a guarenteed BW View. We don't even really like F&W (I'll like it more when the kids are grown - right now it makes Epcot difficult and crowded while not adding a lot to our trip).

Just booked Beach Club Villas (Studio) at the 7-month mark for May 2007 (16th - 21st). No problems; no waitlist. :goodvibes

I'll be staying at BWV in June. No standard or boardwalk views were available, and I did waitlist for one. I just saw that the waitlist came through - it ended up taking about a week. :thumbsup2

We used the "contact Member Services" link on the DVCMember website at the 7-month window twice (with success-no wait list) for:

- Aug. 2006 trip to BWV (early August, 3 night stay, studio, preferred room view)
-April 2007 trip to BCV (last week in April, 5 night stay, studio)

We are hoping for similar luck for another early August trip this year. We are looking to stay at either VWL or OKW. Our goal is to try each of the WDW DVC properties at least once. SSR is our home resort and remains my favorite (but they are all wonderful!). An add-on at AKV is a real possibility though...... :sunny:
