I will be booking (hopefully) for Aulani at 7 months in April (for November).

We hope to book 9 nights, so I would need to call back and add an additional day for two following days.

Question - Is there a possibility that we could book the 7 nights as available and call back the next day and not have any rooms available for that 8th day (i.e. filled with people that had booked at 11 months?)

Thanks everyone!

It is theoretically possible. It is not very likely, because since you were able to block a room for those nights - someone with an 11-month booking priority would have to have waited until ALMOST the 7 month mark, and just happen to decide to book the same room category you did, and it being the ONLY room available.

It's also theoretically possible (and more likely) that you could book your first 7 nights and the 8th and 9th nights are already booked. That is something you could (and probably should) check with the availability tool before you book. If those dates aren't booked when you book your 7, it's probably going to work out OK.

At 7 months out any owner can take rooms before you can get them and thus it is possible the last two nights could be gone when you reserve 7 nights or even disappear before the next day when you call again to add a night. The degree of risk depends on what you are looking for and when. If standard view, the risk is high and I question you will even find that open at 7 months . If anything else and you are looking for time during Thanksgiving week, you could also have issues with a number of other categories and room sizes. If looking for before or after Thanskgiving week, the risk is likley fairly low for most views and rooms.

So do you think that if it's showing "available" as I get closer on the tool i am probably okay?

Thanks for your input.

Probably OK is the best we can say. As drusba said, it also depends on the room category. A larger/less popular room category makes your likelihood better.

Your only other choice is to wait until 7 months out from the 3rd day of your trip and book the whole thing at once, but that gives you a higher risk of missing out on the first days. I would watch the availability tool, and if the whole 9 days is open, book those first seven. Worst case if the last 2 days disappear on you, you wait list them and you still have a pretty good shot.
