Has anyone been on this one? (The longer 7 hour one, not the 4.5 hour one, they're slightly different in name but I can't remember the difference).

Wondering what you thought - is it worth going?

I did it alone a couple of years ago, and I am looking forward to doing it again with my DH in the future. (The children are still too young for us to leave them alone for such a long period of time.)

A lot of stuff I knew, but then there was a lot of new to me stuff too. At that time the only thing I wish was a tour guide without the heavy accent and with a louder voice. I doubt you'd get the same one. Go to Allearsnet.com and you can read reviews of the tours. It was money well spent.

Actually, it's called "Backstage Magic" - I'll edit the title. Thanks for the info ;)

My mother and I did this tour a few years ago... I'm in my 20's and she's well, a few years older ;) We had a great time!!!

I have done the shorter tour (only Magic Kingdom) and it was a much more in-depth tour of Magic Kingdom. The backstage magic tour did not seem to have quite as much Magic Kingdom info... instead, there was a stop at Epcot, MGM and Magic Kingdom. Both are great and I would suggest doing them both at some point. Have Fun!!!

I also have done both Keys to the Kingdom (shorter tour of Magic Kingdom), and Backstage Magic. Both are fabulous. However, I feel like I did them in the wrong order. I did BM first, then KttK. If you are definitely only doing one, do BM - the meal is considerably better, the depth of knowledge was fascinating, and it was all parks. However, if you may do both, do the shorter one first...

I took the Backstage Magic tour last February. I was a little concerned at first that it would not have anything new as I have taken just about every individual tour available in all the parks. Fortunately, it turned out just the opposite with just a little overlap with the KTTK tour. Just about everything we saw was new to me. Everything just fascinated me, from the xmas warehouse(huge!) and the floral shop to the laundry! There are simply alot of areas, such as the central shops where they build and repair all park items, that no other tours take you to. I was disappointed in two things though, other than lunch(a feast) at Mama Melrose, we spent very little time if any at MGM. I would have enjoyed more behind the scences there. Also, you do not go to Animal kingdom. The excuse I got was they had their own tours. But dont they all!(except MGM, though they did have one years ago) I would gladly have paid more and spent more time to cover it all, especially if it shows you things you wont find on the other tours. Our CM(Nancy?) was excellent in her presentation and knowledge. I am definately glad I did it!

We did the Backstage Magic tour in January and really enjoyed it. My husband is a WDW fanatic but, although I really enjoy WDW, I'm not really a zealot. I was afraid that it was going to be a LONG 7 hours but it went really quickly and thought it was great. We both learned new & interesting things even though we read the sites, watch the shows on the travel channel, and read the "behind the scenes" type books.

Remember, the Disney Visa discount is the best for the tours (20%) but there is an Annual Passholders discount and a AAA discount too. They'll definately ask you to show your AAA card so don't think you can just ask for the discount even if you aren't a member.

The Backstage Magic tour seems spendy but remember that you don't have to use a park pass in conjunction with the tour.

Has anyone done the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour out in Disneyland? We did it last summer and had a terrific time, so we definitely wanted to do a Disney World tour this year. I'm torn between Backstage Magic and KTTK. I'd love to take both, but we will only have time for one this time around. I'm just wondering how similar KTTK would be to the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour. I know we'd enjoy spending more time learning about the MK, but I'm not sure how much of it would repeat what we heard last year (obviously not the Utilidors and Florida specific secrets, but just in general).

We did it in September 2005 and it was a little overlap for us, but there was lots of new stuff. We only wish we could have toured MGM a little instead of just eating there. We also had Nancy as our CM and she was wonderful! I enjoyed the info on the American Adventure....it was neat seeing how that all works under the stage. The meal at Mama Melrose was pretty good too. We did the tour while hubby was still a CM, so got it at a great price.

I have never done a tour at Disney and it is something that I really want to try on my next trip. I would have loved to have done one on my most recent visit but it was DH 1st trip to WDW and I was afraid that he wouldn't enjoy it. I was actually afraid that he might not like Disney. :( So I spent the whole trip making sure he could feel and see the magic. Thank goodness I was wrong. He LOVED Disney and wants to go back as soon as we can. I'm going to make sure we do a tour next time. Disney is a fasinating place.
