7 Dwarves Mine Ride Queue and Being Held Up for Games

We accidentally held the line up (on our first ever trip) at Space Mountain playing the interactive game. We honestly didn't realize the line had moved and some guests did cut in front of us. That's why I don't play the games anymore. Apparently I'm too easily distracted! :) if I came upon this situation I would probably politely let them know the line has moved on. If they decline to move on, I would pass them.

We have been held up on Haunted mansion when the line was moving quickly. I am not too bothered if I get passed by.

But it is quite the juxtaposition of trying to be enterained while waiting and having the line move along at its proper pace.

My kids wanted to play in the graveyard at HM when it was basically a walk on and we explicitly invited people to go around us. No way would I wait for an extended period of time while someone else played and I wouldn't expect anyone to wait behind us either.

I feel like the point of interactive queue's is to make the waits more enjoyable and not seem as long. What is the point of them if you don't let people stop and experience them without people going ahead of you?

I think they should space them out more and put them further back in the line. You can wait for an hour with nothing to do, but then when you are 10-15 minutes away you are rushed past these games. Space Mountain seems to have it down correctly. Most of the time it seems like they hold up the line until the games are over and then only let a certain number of people into the final queue area.

It makes me realize how stupid the interactive games in the line queues can be. Take all the $$ invested in them, and spend it elsewhere, please!

It sounds like the cast member answered your question.
Well, not really. The CM came out at 6 minutes on a MVMCP night because there was yelling between the players and the other people in line. Had the shouting not been going on, the CM most likely would not have come. I think things were going to get ugly and they were trying to avoid an altercation.

the Haunted mansion queue has 2 lines. one for those who want to go directly on the ride, and one for those who want to play with th interactive things. so, for that ride, I think it's obvious. the few times we were in the interactive line, people just kind of meandered, playing with this or that, even back tracking. it was no biggie.
I ahve heard a similar question with regards to the toy story queue. people wondering if they could pass by those taking pictures with Mr. potato head. well, the queue area widens for that purpose . I wouldn't pass someone if they were just taking a quick picture or 2. now, if they are standing there trying to get every possible permutation of their group, then I would walk by.
the idea of waiting in line behind every person in front of you who wanted a turn at these games is silly. (imo) there are choices to be made. that being said, if the kids in front of me want to take a couple minutes to try it out, I would still wait. but if my grandkids wanted to play with it for a while, I would tell people they could pass us
