how is it? Really. I’m a super-wimp. Can’t do EE, BTMRR, I can barely do Barnstormer (only because it’s short). I was excited I got a FP for 7 Dwarfs next trip, but now I’m having second thoughts. Doable?
I love Splash-but at least the drop is short

Out of all the coasters at MK (besides the very kid coasters), this one is the easiest going. It is nothing compared to EE, and it doesn't go incredibly fast and no giant drops. You go faster down the drop on Splash than you do the entire ride on Dwarves.

I have only been on it once, but i thought it was way smaller and slower and less exciting than BTMRR and Splash. Don't get me wrong, i enjoyed the ride and will do it again. But in the grand scheme of things, it is the tamest of the above. Definitely try it, there is a portion of not fast coaster that doesn't go very high and has small hills, then a slow straight portion thru the mine, then another small coaster section with only small hills again. It really is made for small children, so it is quite tame. Give it a shot- it's short so even if you end up not enjoying it, it will be over quickly.

The 7DMT is the 'only' coaster that I can ride anymore. It is very smooth and does not aggravate my neck issues. Even at that, we 'must' sit in the front car as it is the smoothest. I can't say it's a wimpy ride though, as it has some very fast curves, but not the deep/steep drops and roughness of other coasters.

Was very happy when they made the cars 'swinging' as that really is the big difference between it and the other coasters for me. Barnstormer is much too rough for me.

Ride it!! You will enjoy it! :)

It is a great coaster for people who are scared of coasters. Really. Very smooth but still great fun. And consists of two pretty short parts with a nice song between. You really should not worry, I think.

It is very tame. Given your description of how you handle coasters, you may want to ask to be towards the front. Like many coasters, the back has a bit more “feel” to the movement and you tend to get more of the “car rocking” experience back there. But, that is really, really minor here, in my opinion.

I’d rather do this 100x over Barnstormer any day. 7DMT is much smoother.

I am also a super wimp. For me, 7DMT was a "one and done". While it was super short, and didn't have drops, it went really fast around the curves. We bought the Memory Maker package, so we got a cool ride pic and video of me looking terrified and my 8 year old enjoying it.

I loved Splash Mountain and went on it only because the drop was so short...it felt like one second and it was over.

Make sure you do Flight of Passage though. The good thing about it is that if you start feeling scared/sick, close your eyes and the feeling will pass. I went on it 3 times even though I usually hate thrill rides.

7DMT is a fun relatively mild ride and IMO, less daunting than that Splash Mtn drop. Heights aren’t my thing. Give it a try!

I do NOT do coasters at all. You can spin me, drop me (like TOT), but I just can't do coasters. And I have *serious* anxiety about them. In my 40 years, I had only ever gone on one small "kiddie" coaster at our town fair in high school. Wouldn't even go on Barnstormer with my 2.5 year-old on our first trip to WDW.

On our recent trip, we decided that we were ALL going to go on Mine Train - my husband (coaster lover), my parents in their mid-60s, my 8 year old (also high anxiety), 5 year old, and scaredy-cat me. I got the FPs for our last park day. When it was time to go on, we breezed through with our FPs and next thing I know we're lined up for the very first car :scared: and loading in. I was freaked out because you can see the start (small drop) from the first car, but I refused to show my panic to be brave for my 8 year old (who was nervous - this was her very first coaster - although she had gone on FoP earlier in the trip and loved that). I was also embarrassed to be feeling such anxiety while there are 3 year old kids happily going on this! So off we go, and after the initial drop to start the ride I was able to relax and enjoy it! It was such a smooth ride! There were a few sections where I was white-knuckling, but they last for such a short time and then you are back in a straightaway part. The whole ride is over so quickly. Watching the ride from the sidelines, the speed and swaying of the cars is much more pronounced than it felt on the actual ride. I would ride it again! And you get some great photos and a video that my kids are obsessed about watching all the time now that we are back home.

So, from one "super-wimp" to another, hopefully this gives you some comfort and confidence - you can do it, and will likely really enjoy it! :teeth:

It's very tame and it's geared toward young kids. It's very smooth and doesn't go very fast. It's top speed is 34 mph

I can’t do very many coasters at all. This is definitely tamer than BTMRR. I don’t Love it but I can enjoy the short ride.

It's nice to know that this is a ride that might be okay for those of us generally afraid of roller coasters. I've been eyeing this one and considering if I could handle it or not, so it's nice to know that others have been able to. I might need to look for a fastpass+ and give it a shot.

Of I had to compare it to anything, I feel like it is comparable to Barnstormer. The difference being that there is a mountain built around 7DMT and you have almost no sense of heights as a result. The drops and turns feel about the same though.

My son - who was eight when we last went - loved it. He was traumatized by going on EE the day before and was in tears when we made him sit in the Mine Train. He ended up loving it and begging to do it again. He is a huge scaredy cat. My dad, who is a coaster lover but is now 70 years old, loved the Mine Train. Much easier on his back but still fun and enjoyable. I love coasters myself but have gotten much more fearful as I age. I won't do any with loops and even really tall, steep drops can make me say no. Rides like Mine Train and BTMR are the perfect fit for me. I thoroughly enjoy that they are fun but not terrifying and I don't have to get severe butterfly tummy before riding.

I have ridden 7DMT in almost every (if not every) car on the train at this point. For the tamest ride, ride in the front. If you're looking for tame, avoid the back (it's still tame by my adrenaline junky standards, but it's rougher). I like the middle best because it's faster than the front and gentler than the back.

It's much gentler than Barnstormer, IMO.

I, too, am a ride wuss...I'm known for making the tamest rides seem terrifying in ride photos :) But I LOVE the Mine Train. Way smoother than Big Thunder. And it's short, so if you truly don't enjoy it, it is over faster than Big Thunder is.

My son LOVED 7DMT, and he didn't care one bit for EE or SM. Super smooth, awesome theming and just a fun ride! :woohoo:
