Hi all,

My kids (they are 7 & just turned 10) and get scared to go on rides at times, they have never done a roller coaster. (They love Buzz Lightyear, they have done Soarin, I would say Soarin was the most intense ride they ever went on). Would 7 Dwarfs be too much for kids who have never been on a roller coaster before?

Thanks for any advice,
Marina

My kids rode this at 7 and 5 and thought it was mild (if not boring after having waited in line for so long to ride it lol). But they also love rides and thrills and had previously that day rode splash mountain and tower of terror. It's definitely not an intense coaster!

My 3 year old loved it and the Barnstormer, both of which I'd recommend as first time coasters.

It is about as intense as the Goofini (formerly Barnstormer) kiddy coaster. Not at all scary. Maybe try them out on it before you stand in line for 7 Dwarves.

TBH, my DD was an extremely timid kid, ride-wise. She hated Barnstormer at age 6 and never tried another coaster until she was almost 10 (BTMRR, and she loved it).

Oh gosh no - id say it's even less intense than the Barnstormer because it's smoother IMO. My dd was 2 and rode the Barnstormer over and over.

I always recommend the Barnstormer as the first Disney coaster for kids because they can see the entire ride before they get on.

It's very mild, but my daughter (9) wouldn't ride it last summer. No thrill rides for her. She's now 10 and our deal is that she has to decide this summer before she taps her Magicband for the FP+. If she decides not to, my husband will take her to the Carousel and her sister will get to ride it twice. I learned last summer not to push her. She got really upset about feeling pressured. I would let them see the ride, watch it for a few minutes and then decide. No harm done if they don't want to. Like your kids, Soarin' is about as intense about my daughter likes it. PS-My other daughter (her twin) loved it and described it as "tame."

Glad to read this! DD will be 4, she loves the kiddie coaster at Sea World (which is very small). I was thinking this would be a great first "bigger kids" coaster, but a friend was cautioning me that it is Much bigger and more intense. We've watched it on YouTube and it looks a lot bigger but like something she would like. DH and. Have FPs to check it out one the first night (DMIL will watch the kids), but it's good to know it should be doable (otherwise i'd entertain swapping the later in the week faspasses for something else).

Could you check out a video first? You could judge for yourself whether it's too intense for your kids.

I think it's a mild ride (I'm a roller coaster chicken ); my DD liked it too but she is now 10 and loved Barnstormer at 4yo. And there is a dark, loud portion inside the mine where the dwarves are singing...

My 3 and 4 year old absolutely loved it! Thought it was pretty much the best ride ever!

I think it's less intense than Barnstormer. My seven year old, who is easily scared, loved 7DMT. It's so smooth which is one of my favorite things about the ride.

My kids did the coaster at Sea world. I don't think it's THAT much more intense. If they liked that (especially if they went without an adult) they'll be fine

The only caution I would give you is that if they have issue with the Evil Queen (as witch), don't sit at the front of the train. You can't see her from the middle or back, but she is the last thing you see before you disembark if you are in front.

O.K...so, my 7 year old was really worried about riding a roller coaster so he thought he'd try Barnstormer.....he road it....42 times!! he said he was going for a record! lol
