7 days of Disney food and drink *pics included* Final day posted

Okay reading this is making me VERY hungry (lunch time here). I am really looking forward to the bakery items in France. I can't wait! FYI - a crepe is a really thin and big pancake. I go to a local Creperie here in Philly. They are delicious.

A few hours later we snacked a bit in France. My mom and I had these really awesome drinks from there. The one I got was a grey goose lemon citron slush and the one mom got was a grand marnier orange slush. Both were good but I thought the lemon one was better. Mom liked hers better because she said it tasted like a dreamsicle. Well, an alcoholic dreamsicle anyway ;)

In all of my trips to WDW I never knew about these drinks until now! I gotta get me one of those!

I tried both of these back in October when we were at the world... they are both very good! About $7 each, but very very tasty! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the replies everyone! I appreciate y'all reading :goodvibes And thanks for clearing up the French dessert mystery. I knew crepe didn't sound right but for the life of me couldn't remember the word eclair. Thanks shovan! Alright, on with the food and drink:

Day 3

I vaguely remember breakfast that day. I think we just grabbed something from the Express Cafe. They had really yummy cheese danish there :thumbsup2

Today we did MGM and for lunch we stopped at the Backlot Express. I know a lot of people complain about the lack of good CS (and TS) locations at MGM but I happen to think Backlot is one of the better CS locations here. Once again, I was getting used to the picture taking and completely forgot to get pics of our food here. I am fairly certain you guys can conjure up an image of chicken tenders and cheeseburgers though ;) Our food was hot and fresh and I was once again happy to drown my french fries in honey mustard :teeth:

Midday we stopped at the bar over by the Backlot Tour for a couple drinks. I had the Red Hero...I know there was some kind of banana liquer in it and it was sweet and awesome. I sucked that thing down quick! :rotfl2: :

Now for dinner. We had an ADR for The Brown Derby that evening and I was really looking forward to it. This is one of my favorite TS locations in all of Disney. Anyway, we checked in and were seated about 5 minutes after our scheduled ADR. No problem there. We ended up with a really great waitress who was very attentive and friendly. I can't for the life of my remember her name but she was blonde and from Arizona. Shout outs to her for being such a great waitress :thumbsup2

Now, I took plenty of pictures here so let's get started:

My mom, dad, and I shared an appetizer of Cobb salad (they say it's for two but we could have easily split it between 4 it was so plentiful) and the crabcake. The cobb was excellent as always and the crabcake (which we split 3 ways) was very good:

I had a very yummy drink that night called The Hollywood. I can't remember what was in it other than vodka but it was pleasing to the palate ;) :

Now onto the main course. I had been craving this entree for so long...the sesame crusted Ahi tuna cooked rare. Good lord. It is soooooooo good. Seriously! It practically melts in your mouth. And it's presented so nicely too:

My mom, dad, and I all had the tuna and were very pleased with it. My sister's stomach was a little upset from earlier (this happens to me a couple days later) and so she just had chicken noodle soup and bread.

Our lovely waitress brought me a very tasty (and complimentary) birthday dessert of chocolate mousse with some kind of cake underneath and a raspberry sauce drizzled over the top. It was really good and normally I don't even like chocolate!:

Okay, so tomorrow I will post Day 4. It will be a fairly short post with just a review of the breakfast buffet at SOG and dinner at Bongo's. Thanks for reading everyone!

Just wanted to say that I've enjoyed your reviews so far. And I love the little snapshot in your siggie of Ron, Hermione, Harry, and Ginny!!

Thank you so much! That means a lot coming from one of the mighty trip/dining reporters such as yourself :worship: I love my HP avatar too! I was so excited when I found it. I wanted it as my regular avatar but the board keeps telling me it's too big. So I settled for putting it in my siggie instead :thumbsup2

Kae, thanks for reading too! Those drinks from France were so good. Especially on a warm/hot day. Really hits the spot :drinking1

Day 4

Today was a pretty simply day foodwise. We had an ADR for Donald's Breakfastasaurus but ended up not going because my sister and I had gotten in pretty late the night before. (We did EMH at MGM). Mom and dad didn't mind missing breakfast so we slept in a little and did the breakfast buffet at The Garden Gallery instead. It was alright and I mostly filled up on biscuits and gravy and pineapple. Odd combination, I know. After that we headed over to DAK.

We didn't eat lunch since we'd had a late breakfast but snacked on a couple drinks throughout the day. Frozen lemonade and then later on, drinks from the Dawa Bar in Africa.

My banana daquiri from Dawa Bar:

I pretty much love anything with banana in it so this was really good :thumbsup2

After an afternoon at DAK we decided to head over to DTD and find somewhere to eat there for dinner. We ended up at Bongo's and were seated within 5 minutes.

A picture from inside:

Drink my mom and I ordered. I can't remember what it was called but I know it had pineapple and the waiter recommended it to us. It was kind of strong but very good:

For my meal, I ordered the chicharrones pescado. They were basically marinated, lightly battered fish chunks and they were really good. It came with white rice and fried, sweet plantains:

Mom had the grilled fish filet and it came with white rice and fried green plantains:

Dad had some kind of steak with rice and fried green plantains.

My sister had shrimp which came in a sauce that she really, really liked. Again, sides were rice and fried, green plantains:

Day 5 will be posted tomorrow with lunch at Sunshine Seasons (EPCOT) and dinner at The Flying Fish (Boardwalk). Hope you stay tuned! :)

Love the pics and the report, esp HBD! Going there in May and still trying to make a decision on what to have and now have to add the Tuna to the list.

Kae, thanks for reading too! Those drinks from France were so good. Especially on a warm/hot day. Really hits the spot

Those drinks looked amazing, but how strong were they? I rarely drink so I don't want anything strong, esp in the heat.

Looking forward to the rest!

Great report! I love dreaming about disney food!

Hey, thanks for reading! I'm glad you're enjoying it :)

As far as the drinks go, I thought the Grey Goose one was less strong than the Grand Marnier one. Neither of them was particularly strong IMO though. If I had to recommend one to someone who doesn't like really strong drinks, I would recommend the lemon one over the orange.

Thanks for reading Winkers! I love Disney food too, obviously ;) I did nothing but read trip and dining reports in the weeks leading up to my vacation :teeth:

Thanks for sharing. I appreciate you taking the time to take pics. (especially of those yummy looking drinks) My family would think I was crazy if I whipped out the camera while we were eating !!!

I love seeing the pictures. I think my boyfriend is the only one that would understand the pictures since we've done it at the Philly Art Institute's restaurant. (Student-run restaurant, 4-start dining at great prices)

Thanks for the great reviews and pictures. Where in France do you get those yummy drinks? Is it at a cart in France?
Thanks again!!!!!:)

I love your report! It has been great to see all the lovely drinks too...

I'm not much of a drinker, but I would love to try some of those next time. If you can't imbibe in a lovely fruit flavored slushie concoction on vacation...when can you? :thumbsup2

Congrats on being "legal"...! Happy birthday!

I don't know if I missed it or not....Did you enjoy Bongo's? I think it looks interesting and tasty but don't know if DH will agree!
