First let me say I was in the camp that was annoyed with the removal of tip from the dining plan, I enjoyed the convience of not worrying about anything. With that said we still had automatic tip because we are a family of 6. myself, dh, ds's 17 and 15, dd's 2 and 1. I felt our service this trip was less because the servers were having to earn their tips from the other diners. Before anyone jumps in with "I should have complained before leaving", I would have found myself complaining at every other ts meal. Not literally. But to much time involved. I don't mind tipping well for good service but getting no refills while ones glass sits empty for 35 minutes is a bit much.
Heres the breakdown:
Ohanas- Our group as whole really enjoyed this meal and service. The salad dressing is awesome! I was sad that the potatoes are no longer served, I really liked them. The shrimp were back, and all the meat was tender and moist, even the turkey and pork. Really a great meal all around!!
Le Cellier- We had lunch. Everyone really enjoyed their steak, the filet was cooked perfectly and the seasoning was perfect. The past 2 trips we had pretty lame meals and were considering marking this one off our to-do list but this meal was great. Sara, our server, was awesome!!!! Our dd was turning 3 on this trip and she recieved a cute little chocolate mousse with a candle. The only downside to this meal was a fellow diner. Our 2 yr old had one brief moment when she acted her age and yelled....once. The lady next to us requested to be move from this one episode. The hateful thing is in the wrong place if she finds one child yelling "ONCE" offensive to her dining experience.
Crystal Palace- Food was good for a buffet, characters were less than fabulous, and our server did her job but was less than happy doing it. We will give this one, one more try.
Boma- Food was fine and service really was just horrible her. Our server was very nice but totally absent. We had to ask another server for ketchup for our dd's fries. After waiting 20 minutes and never seeing our server. Same thing with refills. Very irritating!! Would have never tipped her 18-20%. We only saw her twice.
Coral Reef- We had arranged to have a personalized menu and the diver for Anna's B-day. Once we were seated the hostess mentioned they were working on the menu and the diver would be down shortly. An hour and a half later, I asked about the diver, oh oops, let me go check, finally the diver showed up. It was worth the wait, Anna thought it was great, she was blowing the diver kisses. The menu never materialized, they offered to email it to us but I declined, the cuteness is lost if your printing it off at home. The meal was good, service was adequate.
1900 Park Faire- Character Interaction was fabulous!!!!! The food was the worst we had all week. Service was very good. This was Anna's B-day, I had preordered a castle cake that she was to sick to enjoy, she did recieve a b-day crown which she really enjoyed and a signed lamenated placemat. We will skip this one in Sept, we have the Castle booked. We will try this one again in the future if for nothing else than the excellent character interaction. The addition of the stepmother and sisters is FABULOUS!!!!
Counter Service-
Wolfgang puck express had been a past favorite, this trip I would compare it to lunchroom food. We will not return here, it was that bad and then some.
Flametree BBQ- loved it!
Caseys Corner- good hot dogs.
Pinn. Village Haus- Good.
POR Food Court- Great selection, loved the make your own pasta.
Fast Food at Mexico pavilion- cheap, portions small. Ordered nachos, paying cash I believe they would have been around $8-9, kid you not we had a tsp of sour cream. Alot of nachos and not much else.
We used alot of snack credits around Epcot, love Norway!!!
Sept we have the deluxe dining booked, can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!
