We're on the 2/15/03 Western cruise and would like to make reservations at Palo for the two nights that are to be formal/semi-formal. Can you tell me which nights these are? Are they always the nights at sea? Is there an prohibition about making reservations for more than 1 night at Palo? Thanks for your help. Regards. Bob Wittmer

Well second question first. You can only book 1 night a palos to start. But if there are opening, you can use them. However if you are going with another couple, you can book 1 time, and they can book the other.
Formal and semiformal nights are the days at sea: Monday and Thursday.
BTW we are on the same cruise. We'll be the group of 15 you see all over the place!!

Thanks Doctorrick- will be sure to look for you and your clan. Just curious about how Disney would know if I send my wife to book Monday at Palo while I simultaneously booked Thursday at Palo- different lines at the same time. Might this work? Do you know when the other special dinners are (Master Chef, tropical, mexican, etc?). I know these are all served in all the restaurants at the same time- but assume must stay on the same rotation that is assigned. Regards. Bob Wittmer

TeamMom11: The link worked perfectly- and that was exactly the information that I was looking for. Now if I can make reservations for Palo on Mon (formal) and Thu (semi-formal) that will be perfect. Your chart was also helpful in that it listed the character breakfasts, Palo Brunch & High Tea, and the shows- all in one compact place. Thanks again. Hope to see you on the cruise. Regards. Bob Wittmer

TeamMom.....that you very much for the nice comments on my charts!!!!

I recently updated them so they should be correct based on the info I have received from recent cruisers!!!!

Please let me know when you sail if anything changes.

Thanks again!!!

mmouse 37: Add my thanks for the great charts. They will be very helpful in planning our cruise. Have you ever made two reservations for Palo on any of your 7-day cruises? Just curious. Thanks. Regards. Bob Wittmer

Actually, we travelled with another couple once and we booked one night and they booked the other night and were able to get both ressies.

We loved Palo dinner, but now when we cruise we do the Palo brunch as we found we really like to be with our servers during dinner!!!

Having never cruised, but having heard that not everyone gets on the list to eat at Palo's, don't you feel a little guilty going twice? It doesn't sound very fair to other passengers.

You can only make one reservation for dinner at Palo's on the day that you board the ship. Once all those slots are gone, they quit taking reservations, which is why some people don't get to eat there.

The only way to eat there twice is if you call later in the cruise and request to be put on the waiting list if they have a cancellation. ANYONE can ask to be put on the waiting list, including people who didn't get a reservation the first day.

I've never eaten at Palo's twice, but wouldn't feel bad doing so since anyone could have gotten the second "slot" that I had(including someone who hadn't eaten there before) if they had called that day.

kpgclark....did I feel guilty....not at the time, because there was no one else there to book ressies. Looking back I can see how it could be unfair, but as I said, there was no one else there wanting to book and on both nights at Palo there were empty tables so it didn't seem to be a problem at all.

As I also said...that was a one time thing and now we do one Palo brunch and have dinner in the dining room.

Minor correction...

...on the Eastern itinerary, the Master Chef's menu is on Sunday night. The Captain's Gala menu is on Thursday night. (Although the Captain's Welcome Aboard Reception is on Sunday night.)

I had recently updated a show discrepancy but did not change dining...I will check it out...thanks Dave!!

OK....I have changed the Eastern Dining Chart to reflect Dave's correction.

It will be available online in about 30 minutes as it takes that long to update on webshots.

Thanks again, Dave.
