Cast, Me 32, Hubby 33, Son 10, Daughter 7
Woke up at 7:45am. We figured that we didn't need that much of a head start considering that IOA was DEAD...that Universal on a Tuesday would be even less crowded. (we were right). Grabbed some b-fast from concerige...and walked to Universal around 10am. We ended up zig zaging through this park for some reason. Jimmy Neutron was closed when we arrived...so we headed to MIB....(yeah we rode it like 5 times in a row) (I know we are dorks...but there was NO Wait...plus having FOTL access we were able to cut through the Baby Swap so we didn't have to walk around.
We ended up eating lunch at Ricthers (sp) in San Francisco. This was the WORST place we ate the entire trip. IMHO...don't waste your money there...it was horrible. plus we ended up spending over $40 for 2 burgers and 2 chicken sandwiches, and 4 sodas. Really it was not worth it!!
We ended up spending a few extra hous in Universal....just because we didn't want to have to sit by the pool again. We than headed to CITY walk and went to Bob Marleys for some drinks and munchies...by kids are big reggae fans so they really got a kick out of the place.
We took the boat back to the Hard Rock, and of course had to try out (Lenord Skynard) the snacks in concerige. Chicken wings and corn muffins. Very good stuff...plus did I mention...beer. Bud, bud light, and Heineys. (we grabbed a few extras for later that night, we asked first and they said that would be okay...everyone does it!!).
Later that night...we all wanted to rent another movie so we called down to guest services to see about buying some Popcorn. Well, needless to say the popcorn machine was broken. We were bummed, but we said "okay, thanks anyways".
We sit to order the movie...and there is a KNOCK on the door...."we are sorry for the inconvience (about the popcorn machine being broken...) here is a bag of free microwave popcorn, some candy, and some soda...For Free!!! We were now freaking out over the service at this hotel!!! I have never experiecne in my life...(and I worked in the hotel industry). They said "they wanted to make sure our stay was perfect....., they exceeded our expectations over and over again.
The Hard Rock Hotel will be on our list of hotels to stay at in Orlando from now on!!! We are the biggest WDW fans around...but I say this with no disrespect to WDW...but watch out...Universal is on to something with the quality of their service...our checkout was just as amazing.
