7 day Eastern Carribbean cruise

Hi,

We are going on our 3rd Disney cruise. We have done the Wonder and Dream cruise both times to the Bahamas. Can someone please give me information about the port adventures in St. Maarten and St. Thomas. Do you have to book tours to go to the beaches? Can you walk to the shopping areas on these islands? Any recommendations on what is a "must see"? With the cost of the cruise being pricey, I'm trying to watch our spending on the port adventures.
