I just had my boys hair cut and we were told they were not allowed to do this anymore for a couple of reasons - they are licensed barbers and you don't need to have a license to just put hair up and people coming in there do want real haircuts and putting hair up and adding color was taking time away from people who came to get their hair cut. Men are used to a quick wait for a haircut and they were becoming very frustrated with the 2-3 hour waits that were happening when they were doing the hair dos.

They have done that to my daughter before too, but this was a complete hairdo. They brushed it, braided it, sprayed it, sparkled it, pinned it, confettied it, painted it, sprayed it somemore and then put on the little castle confettis. In other words, she go pampered!

That's what we had done for my girls too when we went this spring. It was really cute and a nice alternative to BBB. We got stopped by tons of people for 2days straight wanting to know where the girls had it done. Even the face characters all commented on their hair.

~ETA I didn't notice the date on the first postings! LOL I thought it was weird that they only paid $5 when we paid $7.50 just a couple months ago.

Do they still do this? We will be in Disney on Monday(8/11) for the Princess dinner and my girls would love this - especially if they do the updo. Will it hold for 6 hours?

Arminda's held up until we washed it out. Actually, it lasted a LOT longer than her BBB did this year! (You can read my trip report to hear about that one! GRRRRRRRRR)

They still do hair, but no longer will put up the girls' hair into a ponytail bun style. The gal said it was because of BBB. I guess they have figured out that this is an alternative option for those people not wanting to spend so much money. My girls were dissappointed when she told them this, because their hair looked so cute the trip before. She went ahead and volunteered to do this anyway, but said that if she was caught she would be fired! I believe the price went up to $6.oo. Hope this helps.

Aww, that's too bad that they stopped doing it! I was hoping to have Arminda and Lydia's hair done when we go back next year.

Love your picture! Beverline cut my DGD's hair (1st haircut) and then last year she gave DGS HIS first haircut!!!

$7.50 was still pretty cheap! To bad it sounds like they are stopping this. They were still doing it while we were there in May. I wonder if they would still put it up and glitter it if you paid for a haircut??

And, it is cool that this thread keeps popping back up after so long!

We had an appointment for Dec. for an updo with colored gel. When I called Disney for something else, I wanted to make sure they still do the colored gel updo (because I came across a thread saying they don't) so I asked. They told me they do not. The CM said it is just for haircuts and that they had received many emails saying they no longer do this. I called again for something else and asked the CM about it. She told me the same thing - no more colored gel They may still sprinkle pixie dust, but I don't think you need an appointment for that. I would have been so disappointed to have had an appointment and then find out they don't do it.
