Well, I know it's a little early to be posting...but the car is packed and our adventure is beginning today!!

Hard to believe after booking this cruise back in September of 2004, the day the "double dip's" were released, the day for us to leave is finally here.

We are traveling from NC to Savannah today to take in some sights and hopefully eat at Paula Dean's place(the one from the food channel) tonight. Then tomorrow its on to the port and the Radisson. Half of our group of 12 is leaving with us today and the other half is driving straight through tomorrow(crazy people).

A little background. We are all Air Force, stationed at SJAFB here in sunny and HOT NC...2 of our group recently transferred to Guam, and they surprised us and flew in to NC to drive down with us.(no way they want to miss out on any of our fun). So its been a happy reunion week!!!

I got the "I'm too excited to sleep" line from DS(9) last night.. I know the feeling all to well...

Well time to shower and get ready to hit the road(ok I-95).

Thanks for putting up with my excitement, and I hope to post live from the ship!!!

You will love  her restaurant! I ate there recently for Sunday brunch and it was fabulous. Although I did have to be rolled out of there :rotfl: Great way to expand your stomach before the cruise! :rotfl:

Be careful on I-95. pixiedust: for safe travel. Looking forward to hearing about your trip!

Have a MAGICal and fun time!!! :thumbsup2

I'm looking forward to the next Double Dip Cruise (August 19th) at CC after yours, especially since my family and I will be on it!!! :goodvibes

have an awesome time. I will be traveling 95 tomorrow morning headed south to Williamsburg, VA. We are from No. VA, we were stationed at Camp Lejune, NC back in 98-2000. My husband was in the Marines and got out in 2000.

Can't wait to read your trip report!!

We did the June double dip, so I know you will love it!!!

Enjoy your hammock on CC for me, and oh, order a nice strawberry margarita from Ernon there too :) .

We'rrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeee outa here!!!!!

See ya tomorrow Bethipooh4!!!!

Thanks everyone!!!!

Well on to day 2...day one ended up not being how I had planned it...
A recap...well we got a late start hitting the road, but its ok, its vacation time. So instead of meeting our friends, they ended up at our house since well, it was ME who was running late.....(never happens).

Anyway, down 95 we go....welcome to SC....there goes Pedro.....we are finally out of NC....WOOHOO..lunch time....Cracker Barrel, not our usual quick MCD, but its ok...its vacation time...well....a hour and a half later we are on the road...

So at 4:30 we pull into our stop for the night, Hoilday Inn Express Savannah....Paula Dean here we come...NOT.....all the slots for the nights dinner were gone. Silly me didn't know they stated taking names at 3:30 for 5 pm dinner...and we got there at 5:30... :guilty: So...Savannah...dinner..seafood right??? nope, Grills tomorrow night...ok seafood is out(personally I could have had it both nights, but who am I to argue?) So where did we end up???? HOOTERS..much to the delight of our DS 16. Believe it or not, the food was really good. :rotfl2:

So back to the hotel for some swimming for ds 9....oh , did I tell you Savannah is the home of Juliet Gordon Lowe(sp) the founder of the girl scouts?(i know this from years as a leader) and the pool has about 82 girls scouts in it...much to the delight of my ds 9 who has someone his age to play with....lol....

So yes, it took me this long to figure out how to get to the DIS boards from their internet(i use aol and know nothing about anything else) so DH finally showed me...

So the boys are in the showers, and I am going to go get their clothes out. We should be on the road to the port in about a hour!!!!! :cheer2:

Thanks everyone for putting up with my ramblings again, type at you from Florida!

Maybe you could catch it on the way back? I didn't know that either.

Hope you have a safe trip the rest of the way to the port and ship. Hope to see you all on the ship.

Well we are here at the Radisson...ready to turn in for the night. The 12 of us met up in Savannah, and drove down here together.

As soon as we got here, we went to Grills for dinner(YUMMY) and watched the Sovereign of the Seas set sail, thinking 24 hours from now it will be us...

The kids came back to the pool, but by the time I got out there after re-doing the suitcases, it was 10 pm, so I didn't get to meet up with anyone. Sorry.

See everyone tomorrow, I am pooped...

It won't be long now until you can get the party started!!! :cool1:

Have a great week!!! :goodvibes

thanks for the post.
Nothing like a live post to help with my post cruise depression--we were on the June 24th DD and I am still refusing to accept that it is over one month later!!

Have a magical time and let us know if Mike Super is on doing his magic--if he is don't miss that--he is amazing.

To the poster who asked if The Lady and Sons restaurant was close to I-95....it is not. Paula's restaurant is in downtown Savannah...a longggggggg way from I-95. Even for lunch, you have to go put your name in around 9 or 930......very popular in this area. She and her brother have a restaurant on Wilmington Island called Uncle Bubba's....but it's not the same.

Phyllis

:) Looking forward to hearing your trip report....here's to smooth sailing..
Have tons and fun.

HELLO EVERYONE FROM THE MAGIC!!!!!!!!

Well sorry for the delay in posts. Between the problems we have had with the wireless network not working for me on my laptop, to seeing the Magic through our friends eyes on their first ever cruise, it has been a non stop 24 + plus hours.

All I can say is WOW...this is our first time on the MAgic, and it is incredible.

Our first double dip was truly a pleasure... Of course, we had a brief shower while docking, but there is nothing like seeing a rainbow form over the Magic and end on the island. It was truly Magical, Disney couldn't have planned it themselves if they tried. I hope our pictures turn out. I sit here somewhat reddish(ok I fried). The Flying Dutchman is a sight to see, the details are incredible.

I plan on putting a true report when I get home, I just wanted to say this is one heck of a cruise already!!! I hope to pop in from time to time and give brief updates. Tomorrow is our sea day so I hope to be able to find a vacant computer.
